The illustrations were cute but I didn't really like the story. Bobo got a little too much in everyone's personal space.

In this gorgeous, colourful picturebook, Bobo the baby orangutan needs to get to sleep, but first, he needs just the right pillow. So begins an intrepid search to find one! Unfortunately, he finds all sorts of pillows that are not right at all, mostly, of course, because the animals he’s trying to use get very cross indeed! Only when someone upsets Bobo in turn does he realise that perhaps what he did wasn’t very fair at all!

This lovely story is full of bright, warm illustrations, full of character and fun, images framed beautifully in fronds, leaves and plant life. I think kids will love all the unusual jungle animals roaming across the pages, and fluffy little Bobo himself!

The story teaches important lessons about boundaries and personal space and being respectful of others and is a lovely addition for any bookshelf!

A cute story about not touching others without permission. Bobo is having trouble sleeping- his branch is uncomfortable, the bark is scratchy and there's a knot poking his head. He needs a pillow, so he goes in search of one. He finds different animals that look like they'd make good pillows, but they don't like it when Bobo grabs them without asking, and they express their displeasure pretty clearly. Finally, an elephant who also needs a pillow grabs Bobo because he looks soft and fluffy, and Bobo finds out that being touched without being asked isn't much fun. Having learned his lesson, he goes home, and cuddles with his mom, after asking if it would be okay. At the end of the story, there are discussion prompts and art/craft projects related to the story. The illustrations are very colorful and cute, and add a lot to the story.

This is possibly a book to use in school as we prepare to go back with strict social-distancing measures in place.

Bobo can't sleep because he can't get comfortable in his tree. He goes in search of a pillow through the jungle as the other animals sleep on. The stunning pictures illustrate the frustration of the other creatures as Bobo disturbs them and gets into their personal space. It's only when he meets another young creature who is also awake that he gets a taste of his own medicine and realises how disruptive he has been.

This is an adorable story that could be used as part of a PSHE lesson on personal space and help children to understand why they need to be respectful of others' space. There are suggestions in the back of the book for questions and activities that could be used in a home or school environment.

It could also be used as part of a topic on animals of the world as a means to introduce children to some of the creatures that they might not be familiar with.

Oh No, Bobo is a book for small children on asking permission. Bobo is a baby orangutan who can't sleep and needs a pillow. He bothers different animals of the jungle by trying to use them as sleeping aid without asking. There is a twist at the end which has the aim to make Bobo and the little readers understand why permission must be asked and obtained. Bobo the Orangutang needs a pillow to get to sleep. He goes out in search of the perfect pillow. Along his search in runs into many upsetting situations. The illustrations are stunning and very vibrant colours bring the jungle alive. Bobo is a very cute character. I loved that the story had an important lesson about asking before doing and boundaries. My daughter really enjoyed the story and asked to read it again and again.

Oh No, Bobo! by Donna David is a sweet story about a young orangutan who is on the quest to find the perfect pillow so that he can get some sleep. Laura Watkins's illustrations of the jungle animals are beautiful and colorful and are sure to be eye catching for the intended audience. While Bobo is searching for the ingredients for his new pillow, he encounters other jungle animals and tries to take things that he thinks will make his pillow perfect. In doing so, he learns some very important lessons. Bobo has to learn to use his words and ask permission before he does things and he also has to learn to respect the other animals' personal space. These are both vital lessons for all young children to learn. This is a particularly difficult lesson for students with disabilities to fully understand, especially children on the autism spectrum. As a special education teacher, I feel that this would be a very useful book to share to help students learn that they need to communicate and respect personal space.

This is a great book! I went into it thinking it was going to be a normal bedtime story- but it's not! It's a book about asking permission before touching someone! Bobo wants a pillow and tries to find one- by touching a bunch of other animals who have already told him NO!- And they get mad at him when he doesn't listen! Then the tables are turned and an animal does the same thing to him. This is such an important lesson for kids to learn. No means no, and you should always ask before you touch someone, even if you mean it in a nice and friendly way. The story is engaging and fun, and never comes across in a "preachy" kind of way.

The illustrations (by Laura Watkins) are beautiful! They are so colorful and detailed but not in a way that distracts from the story- instead they enhance it in a wonderful way.

Definitely a book I would recommend.

On his journey he encounters jungle friends who just might be the answer to his dilemma. He discovers very quickly that they do not want him invading their privacy. Elsie the baby elephant also is not asleep. She scoops Bobo up in her trunk and thinks because he is so soft and velvety he will make a great pillow. Bobo is not amused and wants his freedom. Elsie's dad wakes up and reprimands his tiny daughter telling her she needs to get Bobo's permission first before she touches him. Bobo finally escapes and happily he finds the perfect pillow to calm all his fears and anxiety. Can you guess what he finds?

This sweet book teaches a lesson on boundaries and asking permission. Beautifully illustrated, QEB’s Storytime series introduces young children to the pleasures of reading and sharing stories. Beautifully illustrated this is a lovely, gentle story to explain the concept of personal space and asking for permission. A wonderful book to read together at home, I think this could also be useful in an educational setting such as a nursery or school.

Bobo is a very naughty Orangutan who goes around the jungle touching/cuddling/pulling hair and feather of other animals without asking if it is okay. Bobo sees no problem with his behavior until the same is done to him. This is a great book to help you explain to children what consent is and how to ask for it.

This is a beautifully illustrated and cute tale about a little monkey called Bobo who can't sleep and goes out trying to find the perfect pillow to sleep on. Bobo ends up upsetting many other animals because he doesn't listen when he is told not to do something until he learns the same lesson at the end as to how he felt when the same happened to him in reverse.
This is a lovely tale with a good meaning for chikdren and has some great discussion questions to ask your child about the story at the end of the book.

I really enjoyed reading this book with my son and the lesson that it teaches. Touch is always something that requires consent and its good to learn that at an early age. Even Bobo didnt like being touched without permission. Thank you for this bright and insightful book. An amazing way to teach children that is perfect for their understanding.

This offered a great opportunity to talk to my children about asking before touching or getting to close - whether to animals or friends. Great for kids ages 2-5.
