3.5/5

I wouldn't necessarily say that I'm glad that I didn't DNF this book, but it definitely improves the further in you get. This is a book that really takes its time to develop, and not in a slow-burn way - more in the sense that the pacing was all over the place and the author didn't quite know exactly how they wanted things to pan out to get to the overall conclusion. The writing is generally bland for me and the flashbacks have no sense of linearity or logical sense to their order. Most, if not all, of the characters, are very one-dimensional and certain characters needed to be introduced earlier for the story to really have a kick to it.

Often, I felt like this book was quite well-researched. However, there were moments where the research became overbearing, almost as if the author decided that she had to include all of her research in the story to make the time spent worthwhile, even when it wasn't particularly relevant to the scenario.

The true 'plot twist' of this book happens at the 95% mark which, realistically, is far too late. Occasionally, some authors leave the plot twist as an open ending, but there was more after it which made it a little bittersweet. It wasn't necessarily a bad plot twist, just bad timing - again, the pacing! It made the ending feel a little too rushed, almost like we never really got any sense of closure. I still have quite a lot of questions that haven't been answered. To be honest, the memory loss trope is one of my least favourites in thrillers as it occasionally feels like a cheap cop-out to justify leaving things unanswered.

That being said, there were occasions while reading this book in the second half where the tension increased and the action picked up. These were moments I enjoyed, where I found I was more invested in the characters and their stories. However, they were simply too few and far between. Plot-wise, I would describe this book as Wrobel's The Recovery of Rose Gold meets Feeney's I Know Who You Are.

Overall, I didn't necessarily hate this no matter how much I wanted to DNF it. I was just bored quite often by a lacklustre writing style. Had I not been challenging myself to power through more books rather than DNFing so early, this would have been put aside at the 25% mark.

Short term memory loss is such an interesting subject. I enjoy books dealing with that especially in the thriller genre.

I was eager to read this book but unfortunately, it fell a little flat for me. This is a story of Diana Sparrow who is suffering from memory loss after an accident. I was unable to connect with Diana. I did not understand and could not like her. None of the other characters really worked for me either.

I found the end a tad predictable too and a bit rushed.

Don't get me wrong, I did not hate the book. I just did not like it as much as I thought I would.

I will definitely read more of Mina Hardy.

Five months ago, an accident left Diana Sparrow badly injured and missing a few months of her memory. As if that’s not enough, she’s started having recurring nightmares about the night of the accident. Dreams that feel so real, she’s left questioning: maybe she didn’t just slide off the road into a ditch. Maybe, just maybe, she hit something. Or someone.

At first, I thought: great, another fugue-state plot? But WOW! This book is a heavy hitter in the best way possible. Told from multiple perspectives, this story weaves a tight psychological tale about marriage, friendship, familial relationships and affairs. I literally did not see the end coming! Twisted. This is a fun and fast read that’s bound to be a bestseller. Available November 2020.

Wow! This book has some twisted characters in it. There is a woman who is suffering from amnesia from an accident she was in. As the book progresses, we see her with her husband, her best friend, her lover, and her mother-in-law. Each of them has different secrets they are hiding from each other. It's a tangled web of deceit, passion and love. And some serious mental health issues.

I received an e-ARC of this book by the author and publishing via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

This book was a total OMG read for me. I didn't see a lot of things that happened and it kept me on the edge of my seat. Total 5 star read for me. What happened the night of the accident? What is up with her mil? This book was a crazy read and I'm so here for it. Also love that the author normally writes romance!

This book was fantastic! It had so many twists that I didn't see coming and kept me guessing until the end. Diana loses some of her memories after a car accident and unfortunately those memories contained some essential information that pertained to her life and the potential danger she is in. Not only does Diana her memories after her accident but she is left with disturbing nightmares, loses her marriage, and her overbearing mother becomes even more so. Told from different POVs this book is well written and suspenseful with a little bit of crazy. A great read and would recommend if you want a fast paced drama.

Well that was..... unexpected. A solidly written thriller that kept me on my toes! I guessed the main twist but it was still fun to see it come together, and ended unexpectedly violently. The plot was pretty outlandish but it was a fun read.

According to the description, After All I've Done is psychological suspense, and that's accurate in part. The thing about that is all too often lately, I find that what is labeled as psychological suspense or psychological thriller ends up being more domestic drama than anything else. This one hits somewhere between the two. It certainly has some suspense, some of it predictable and some not so much, but still suspense. It also has some thrills even if they are a bit over the top. That said, the whole love triangle storyline takes up enough page time to speak to domestic drama. Nevertheless, this one is a quick read and there are plenty of characters to dislike. Seriously, I didn't particularly like a single character in this story, but it felt like we really weren't supposed to like them, and I'll admit that it worked for this book. In the end, there were things I liked about this one and other things that I didn't care for, leaving me somewhere in the middle. It's not a bad story, but it is a little outrageous at times and maybe even a little bit disconcerting.

At first I wasn’t sure I was really into this, mainly because unreliable narrators kind of bug me. Except, this one was just so interesting that I couldn’t help but be pulled along!! A woman losing her memory of about three months worth of time and in that amount of time entire relationships had be built, lost, and even died due to... well, death.

Then the insanity starts!!! You never really grasp exactly what’s going on and you’re kept on your toes the Entire Time!!! Who can you trust or can you even trust anyone?!?! There’s people I wanted to punch, others I was totally into, and I kept changing my mind!!! Seriously, you could just never tell where things were going to go. And I had several good theories, or at least I thought they were good. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

But really, it’s the friendship between Diana and Cal that kept me intrigued. What could break up a life long friendship between two women who had been through everything together?!?! Apparently it does take a lot, but dang. It does smack you in the face at the end. It’s a killer and I would find it surprising if you can guess the ending. I really recommend this to those who enjoy thrillers that have narrators you find it hard to trust. Frustrating, but soooooo good!!!!

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the opportunity to read this for my honest and unbiased opinion.

This was a typical fast paced thriller that was kind of fun to read. I had a good time with it and was intrigued throughout the story, but it isn't a book that will stick to me for a longer period of time.

While I have seen many enjoy it, this book was not for me. At times, I was bored. If I had experienced the story through film, the scenes would have seemed repetitive and unnecessary. I got the jest of Diane’s situation fairly quickly, but I had to relive the her confusion in its multiple variations in what felt like a time loop.

Every book has a thing – and this one was the ending. It really went for the jugular (literally + figuratively). This book is truly nothing without its ending.. And while I suppose the purpose was to ignite shock and awe, I was over the book by the time I got there. At that point, I had seen the writing on the wall and pieced together most of the puzzle – so I was just happy to be done.

I found this one really really interesting, I didn’t want to stop reading it so spent a really lazy afternoon completely absorbed by it.
I quite like reading books from multiple POVs like this one. This goes back and forward between Diana and Val, her best friend.
Diana has had an accident and is suffering with amnesia, she discovers best friend and husband have been sleeping together but cannot leave, needing the support and care provided by Mother in Law. She has nightmares and seeks some answers, or at least some stability.
It’s interesting, will keep you on your toes and just when you think it’s a predictable read -think again.
Good book, I would recommend for fans of the genre.

I was first drawn to the beautiful cover and then the great synopsis. However, the story was hard to get into and I didn’t finish reading it. Not finishing the book was haunting me and I decided to try the audiobook. For some reason, it all came together for me. Amazing, shocking, and a total must listen. Loved it!

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review.

Diana Sparrow doesn’t remember much after waking up in the hospital barely clinging to life after a tragic car accident. The 45 yo married woman had worked for GenTech prior to the accident but is now wrestling with therapy and regaining her memory. She was told that she totaled her cherry red Camero when she hit a deer 5 weeks before when a man in an 18 wheeler stopped and called 911 after seeing her car in a ditch. She survived emergency surgery on an infected gall bladder and broken collar bones leaving both arms in slings.

Her journey to recovering her memory is piqued when she discovers a list she had written prior to the accident. Apparently, her phone was lost in the accident and has been told her amnesia was induced by anesthesia. She senses tension from her husband of 10 years Jonathan who never seems to be home. She feels grateful to have his mother Harriet Richmond take care of her during her recovery.

Her mother in law moved into the apartment above their detached garage to care for Diana. It was a blessing in the beginning when she initially got home but soon finds her over bearing and annoying. It begins to feel uncomfortable having Harriet come and go from her house. She had met her 12 years ago when volunteered at Sunny Days Adoption Services. Diana begins to resent feeling dependent on Harriet who gives her medication and meals whether she wants them or not.

During her weekly sessions with Dr Levitt, Diana discusses her constant nightmares involving blood and burying someone in her backyard. Diana is wracked with grief and guilt for not remembering what happened with the accident. Her mother had been depressed and died from her drug addiction which worries her taking so many medications during her recovery.

As the story progresses Diana begins to recall events leading up to her accident. She wonders what happened with her childhood friend Valerie who moved to Lebanon, PA after her mother’s death to escape bad memories. She remembers seeing Val when she returned to NY last December to care for her father in hospice. Past and present merge with conflicting emotions and memories coming to the surface.

This is a twisted love story of revenge, resentment and jealousy topped off with a bat crazy mother in law that no one saw coming! When it comes to family nightmares she tops the cake!

After All I've Done....to you, for you, and with you. This is a psychological thriller that goes beyond shocking. What a great twist! Diana is in a car crash, her husband is having an affair with her ex-bestfriend, add a mother-in-law from creepy town, and you get a great set up. Written in multiple POV. Can't trust anyone these days! Thank you Netgalley, author Mina Hardy, and publisher Crooked Lane Books for this opportunity to read in exchange for an honest review. 4 Stars

This was an intriguing domestic thriller with a heck of a twist.

The concept was intriguing, a woman can't remember the last few months of her life before a car accident. She's got a husband who's cheating on her with her best friend, and a smothering mother in law who only wants to help her recuperate.

The book took a little while for me to get hooked. The author sets up the mystery surrounding the accident well enough but I wasn't truly drawn in until around halfway and then I couldn't stop reading.

The ending was WILD and I didn't see it coming, however looking back at the book, I can see how it was set up. (Which to me is a sign of a good twist, set up but still a shocker)

Overall, this is a decent read, I enjoyed it and if you like thrillers you'll enjoy this one.

This one is hard to review. The writing was overdone... just a lot of unnecessary info/events happening. Like another reviewer said, you don't need 4 paragraphs to pour a glass of wine. I absolutely hated all the characters. Diana's audiobook narrator is really annoying -- she uses what seems like a fake posh voice? HOWEVER, the story is good and makes this a page-turner, and the twist is absolutely audacious and original as far as I know. Three stars from me because, even with all the negative stuff I'm saying here, I did enjoy it.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for a copy of the ARC.

What an absolutely wild ride. I will say, this book gets all the stars for entertainment value. I really do like to be shocked with these kinds of books, and the twists that were uncovered within the plotline were so balls to the wall, I have to give the author credit for that. Unfortunately, the characters were so unlikable that it took away from the enjoyment for me. I don't normally mind this kind of thing, but this time I just felt continuously annoyed, which was a bummer. Overall though, this one was extremely entertaining, and I think will be enjoyed by many mystery/thriller readers.
