"She's lost her best friend, her husband--and possibly, her mind."
After All I've Done a delightfully twisted domestic suspense/thriller with multiple POVs, and the ultimate unreliable narrator- one dealing with memory loss.
I did figure out a couple of the surprises relatively early on in the book, but there were a lot that I didn't guess, some that were absolutely shocking. This was an enjoyable psychological thriller and I look forward to reading more from the author.
Many thanks to Crooked Lane Books and NetGalley for the advance copy.

This book just wow. I read it in a day because I couldn't put it down. It was disturbing and entertaining and I loved it. I hated the mother in law from jump, but that could also have been due to personal experiences (who doesn't have a wild MIL?) but I didn't see the twist at the end coming!

This story was very similar to the one I just read. The domestic thriller fell a little flat for me this go around. I am thankful for the opportunity to read this through netgalley!

Diana is suffering from anaesthesia induced amnesia after going through a surgery due to a car accident. She doesn't remember anything that happened few months before and the night of the accident. But she does know that her husband is having an affair with her bestfriend. Diana starts having nightmares about the accident which makes her question and wonder what really happened that night.

I haven't read any book from this author and I was not really sure what to expect. The book is written in multiple first person perspectives which was entertaining to read but for some reasons I couldn't connect with them. I enjoyed the unlikeable and unrealiable characters though. I thought the story was going to be entirely predictable but I was wrong. The revelation towards the end was pretty disturbing but shocking nonetheless. It was definitely far from what I was expecting. I still thought that the ending felt a bit rushed. Overall, this was a fast-paced and an enjoyable read.

Disclaimer: Huge thanks to NetGalley for my e-arc. This did not affect my overall opinion of the book.

I am a little tired of the unreliable narrator trend, but I can forgive it if the writing is exceptional or if there's something else in the book that doesn't make me feel like I've read it a thousand times, but unfortunately this just didn't connect for me. One of my favorite covers of the year, though!

Rating: 5 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷
Book: All I’ve Ever Done
AVAILABLE NOW!!!! November 10, 2020
Author: Mina Hardy
Genre: Mystery & Thrillers

Sipping Synopsis: WOW! I loved this book. Before I start harping on how crazy good, but crazy crazy, this book is let me tell you a little background on the plot. Diana finds herself with short term amnesia after a horrible car wreck. The only thing she does remember is that her husband is sleeping with her best friend. She can’t remember the months before the accident or the actual accident. Did her cheating husband or her lousy best friend try and kill her, or did she try and kill herself?

Final sipping thoughts: Yall, this book is one of those that will have you smacking your lips saying okay @minahardywrites you are not going to trick me, I know what is going on. But what actual happens is the magician (aka Hardy) is making you watch the magic trick that you are supposed to figure out so the slight of hand makes the REAL magic trick make you gape in awe. Are you following me? Basically, while I was all consumed in the “twist” that I saw coming, the real twist had me shocked, disgusted but so impressed. There are only a few days left in December but you have to add this to your reads list now or at least very early in 2021.

Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley, @CrookedLaneBooks and @MinaHardyWrites for an advanced copy of @AfterAllIveDone

The surprise at the end is ultimately what made me want to read more from this author. Though hard to write into the curriculum, I will still recommend it to students.

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced readers copy of this title in exchange for my honest review/opinion.
This title was definitely different from many other suspense books. It was a definite page turner, and the ending was not foreseen. I've read so many mystery/thriller books, I'm fast figuring the end. This one kept me guessing! End wasn't abrupt either. Pieces all came together.

What a great thriller!

After an accident leaves Diana with memory loss, she finds herself dependent on her mother-in-law and questioning her husband's motives. What is it that she can't remember about the accident?

This book is totally engrossing and will keep you guessing and questioning everything you read. The way we learn secrets and truths alongside Diana is a great format and kept me totally engaged. While I was able to guess a few pieces, the journey the reader goes on with Diana, constantly questioning everything, makes you never quite sure if you're right-in the best way possible! And the ending!

This is a great domestic thriller and definitely recommend it!

Thank you to Crooked Lane and Netgalley for the arc.

"Letting someone die is not the same as killing them."

Oh my sweet baby cheezits - you really had to go there didn't you, Hardy?! 😮

At first I was like okkkk... here we go. Another amnesia riddled alcoholic woman unhappy in her marriage. Haven't read this before, have we? 🙄 And yet from the get go, I was super intrigued. She's not really an alcoholic, she just likes her wine and uff... with two broken collar bones.. well at least her mother-in-law is close by to help her during her recovery. But then secrets start to unravel and my oh my, this is one of those times you DO want to get it twisted... and twisted it sure does get!

I legitimately could not stop laughing during the last few chapters. Because this book took a WIIIIIDE ass left turn and while it will absolutely not be for everyone, I thoroughly enjoyed every piece of it. I mean, I kiiiiinda knew that **insert character** was bat shit but holllllly shitballs y'all! Hardy slapped me up one side of my face and before I even had the chance to turn the other cheek she was slapping that one too!

I'm literally sitting here still giggling about the absurdity of it all ... in the very best way. I am surely entertained. Touching on loyalty of friendship, marriage, adultery, sordid pasts, mothers, lovers and a LOT of wine.... this was certainly the read I needed right now.

Secrets, Lies, and Past Failures

This is a book to read! After All I've Done is about Diana, Johnathon, and Valerie. Valerie and Diana have been friends since the 4th grade. Actually, more like sisters. Diana came from an adopted family. However, Diana's life wasn't a walk in the park. Diana's adopted mother was an addict. Always, in and out of her life. Val had a rough life as well. at the age of only 15, Val lost her mother to illness. These two things alone made these girls inseparable.

Fast Forward:
Diana seems to be happily married to the love of her life Jonathon. Until she's not. She knows he is a lair but needs proof of an affair to be able to leave him as she signed a pretty detailed prenup. That is where Val comes into play. However, Diana suffers a tragic car accident after her and Val meet up. Diana has now recovered but the memory of the last 6 months is gone. As Diana uncovers the last 6 months, will she be shocked to find out the real truth? Will she uncover more than she bargained for?

This book was very entertaining. I really enjoyed the plot of the story and the characters. I found each character was likable and honestly found that even though so much had happened between the characters, it was amazing in the aspect of respect they still had for each other.

The only downside I had with After All I've Done, was that there wasn't really a plot twist that was jaw dropping. I did like the ending twist but I felt like it was missing that BANG. I also felt the ending was rushed a little. Over all though, I did enjoy this book and will recommend it to others who are looking for a book in this genre.

Thank you to Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for providing me this title in exchange for my honest feedback.

She's lost her best friend, her husband--and possibly, her mind.’

‘Five months ago, an accident left Diana Sparrow badly injured and missing a few months of her memory. As if that's not enough, she's started having recurring nightmares about the night of the accident. Dreams that feel so real, she's left questioning: maybe she didn't just slide off the road into a ditch. Maybe, just maybe, she hit something. Or someone.’

AFTER ALL I’VE DONE is a physiological thriller narrated from three different perspectives—BFFS since childhood Diana and Val, and the mysterious Cole, making for an entertainingly twisted and disturbing read.

Thank you, NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books, for loaning me an eGalley of AFTER ALL I’VE DONE in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely LOVE the cover of After All I've Done! Gorgeous.

The story was exciting and suspenseful. It was a quick read, as I couldn't wait to discover what dark twists would reveal themselves.

Thank you to NetGalley and Crooked Lane books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Holy cow! This book was engrossing! I spent a good portion of this book guessing at what was happening. There were things I was pretty sure about, but others that took me by surprise! Regardless, I absolutely loved this one!

After an accident leaves Diana with memory loss and collar bone injuries, she finds herself reliant on her mother-in-law. She starts to stumble on pieces of information that leave her with new questions about what really happened in the accident and what exactly is it that she can’t remember?

I really liked the way this story was told. There are so many questions the reader has, things that we see before the main character does, and there are other things that we learn right along with the MC. It was a great mix of surprises and heart-racing moments!

I loved the characters in this one. There are people I liked, and others that I loathed. I appreciated the connections that the author helped to create between myself and the characters. Their development and arcs were great!

Overall, I loved this story! It was a fast-paced thriller that I did not want to put down!

I was provided a gifted copy of this book for free. I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Thank you Crooked Lanes and NetGalley for providing me with a temporary e-arc.

With the lack of balance in the dual narrative of Diane & Valerie, After All I've Done turned out to be slow-paced mediocrity; with the incredible hype this domestic-psychological mystery-thriller have gotten pre-release and after, it failed to make sense on why that is the case with its terrible plot, improper character development and cringy scenes with boring twists that were unnecessary. The barely functioning adaptations of amnesia, affairs and a mystery connecting them all together had a hard time hitting the right mark.
Starting off this read, it was quite predictable on how it may turn out but I found myself correcting that if it turns out 'that' way, this read would have been a complete waste of time and worthy of DNFing (which I found myself considering at so many points but didn't opt for since this has been one of my anticipated releases of the year & I am not planning on making a habit out of it). And it turned out exactly that way and I ended up laughing so much that I couldn't even be disappointed at how predictable and cringy it was. A climax like that could have been so much better but it was so cringy that I barely endured through it. With everything the book could have been, even with any other climax than the one this had or even if the existing climax was properly portrayed, this would have turned out to be a simple quick read and even a good one-time read.

If you are considering skipping this one or DNFing this, by all means, go ahead. But many readers seemed to have enjoyed this one so I would suggest you check it out for yourself and see if it works out for you or not.

Note on rating: I have distinctively written in the notes I made for this review that if I could give this one 0 stars, I would.

4..5 Stars

Diana Sparrow’s life changed with a blink of eyes. A horrific accident not only left her with long term pain but also several months of lost memories. One thing she knew for sure, she could never trust her loved ones anymore because they held secrets she desperately needed to uncover.

I went into this one blind and I’m glad considering the blurb revealed too much of the story. It was interesting and had me guessing with my own theories. However, after a certain point, it was easy to deduce the answer, and the ending was a bit too much in telenovela proportion. Still, it was an engrossing page-turner that I enjoyed.

I loved how the characters were unlikable including Diana. They made for a much more interesting read. Each of them had their own agenda they were trying to protect and it was good to see how far they would go.

After All I’ve Done is a story of family, friendship, and deception. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a domestic thriller with a good dose of drama and a dash of romance.

I finished this book in two days- the writing definitely kept me engrossed and needing to find out what was going on. The characters were a bit too thinly developed, but this was clearly meant as a plot driven book so that didn’t bother me very much. I loved the premise and while I figured out a few elements of the ending, I was definitely shocked by the final resolution. A fast paced, shocking thriller for sure!

Diana is in a horrifying car accident that leaves her totally dependent on her mother-in-law with two broken collarbones and a case of memory loss that goes back by 5 months. When she comes home after her hospitalization, she realizes her husband is cheating on her...with her best friend, Val. What happened to their friendship that was unshakeable? She can’t shake that there is something wrong with the version of the car accident that has been explained to her and she has recurring nightmares where she thinks she is burying a body. This is a wild ride...buckle up.

Diana and Val are just the right of unlikeable and likeable. As our two narrators, we get lots of insights into their co-dependent friendship and individual perspectives. One of my wishes for this thriller would be that Diana’s husband, Jonathan, had a little bit more personality. I just couldn’t figure out what was so great about him that had Val and Diana both in his grasp. Hardy’s story is full of layers. Just when you think you are done uncovering all of them, she will do something wild like give you another narrator (Caleb) or throw in another subplot. The writing style was very addictive as you get sucked in to Diana and Val’s mindsets. I loved the fast pace that set the tone from the beginning all the way to the end. The last 20 pages left me with my mouth hanging open. This is a great winter read to get you out of a slump!

Based on initial praise for After All I've Done, I was very excited to pick up an ARC and dive in. We meet Diana Sparrow, who has been in a serious accident and is missing a few months of her memory. In addition to the nightmares, Diana is also living a nightmare after finding out her former best friend Val has been sleeping with her husband. Essentially, Diana's entire life is unraveling -- and she has no idea why but will do anything to figure it out.

This was a great, suspenseful read!

'After All I've Done' by Mina Hardy, alternate pseudonym of author Megan Hart, is billed as a "thrilling new psychological suspense" title.

Though while the story is captivating, it's really not particularly thrilling or suspenseful. I find it interesting really and a testament to the author's writing chops that regardless of the fact I felt like there were zero surprises anywhere in the book.. everything being thoroughly telegraphed as I read, I still really enjoyed the experience. I was definitely invested enough to want to witness it all first hand and even read through the last 75% the second time I picked the book up.

"She's lost her best friend, her husband--and possibly, her mind."

Told from the perspectives of three people, Diana, Val, and later.. Cole, the story opens during Diana's recovery from an accident that left her broken.. both physically and psychologically. She has a huge gap in her memory from the summer around the accident and she isn't wholly convinced that the recurring nightmares she's been having aren't actually memories of some awful thing she's done.

Her former best friend Val has been sleeping with her husband Jonathan, but strangely enough Diana isn't the one who's angry. Val practically spits venom at her when they cross paths and won't speak to her at all by phone.

Then there's Cole. He's younger and attractive.. and pays attention to her at a time she seems to need a friend, but the closer they get.. the more she wonders how even he might fit into the puzzle.

Honestly, I think one of the biggest reasons I kept reading was validation. I had a very solid conviction as to what was happening and why.. and I guess I wanted to see if I was right.. or if Hardy might throw me a curveball somewhere. She didn't, but I was just as satisfied upon finishing the novel either way.

Choices made amongst the involved parties, certainly made for interesting dynamics. The personal interactions between all these people are so strained and only one of them feels truly genuine, that one.. coming late in the book.

I felt Hardy did an excellent job creating that tension between the characters. All the underlying moments that are plain to see around us if one is looking for them, small manipulations, personal slights, the things people hide or project with intent within relationships.. it's all here and it's actually brilliantly played out. Having lived some level of these types of behaviors myself, I spotted them immediately.. but the thing about seeing them is.. you're not always in a position to do anything about them, even when you're aware.

Which brings me to the other aspect Hardy played so well. The frustration and.. not really helplessness, but.. those moments when for whatever reason you're bound from acting in your own best interests. Those moments are vividly on display here.

There are a couple of moments in the conclusion where of course you're not sure of the outcome. You have all the pieces.. but they're up in the air and you're not sure where they're going to land. I must say, I was very happy with the way everything wrapped up.

If you enjoy a good dark, family drama.. this is well worth a read.. just don't be expecting it to catch you off guard.
