Quick read, I loved the world and characters, however it’s not an easy transition for the reader. It felt a bit like I was reading from a second book in a series instead of the first, because the book just kind of drops you into the story as if you know the characters and setting already.

Lucy and Rykr grew up together and with that they has been close, but then they decided to separate for a few years before reuniting as soulmates.
A romantic, sexy and lustful fantasy story, hinted with some Greek mythology. It makes the readers turn the pages till the end of the book. The novel was exciting and easy going, fast paced just a bit too short.

Story was almost overwhelmed with all the details with the most of the characters in the story as well as background. It was a bit much for a 150 page read. On the other hand the development of the relationship between Rykr and Lucy was not as detailed. Story was erotica and that seemed to be the basis for their relationship for the most part.

Forever a fan of Setta Jay, as they have all the recipes to create an amazing novel. The characters are well written with depth with wonderful fleshed out worlds and mythologies. While the stories are fairly interesting on their own, as a fan of erotica, the steamy scenes just complete the novel.

Jay is a talented writer and one who is one of my insta-buys.

Lucy and Rykr are destined soul mates but because of their young age, Lucy demands they stay separate for ten years before spending eternity together. As the end of the decade approaches, a dark force makes its presence known and Lucy learns Rykr has been keeping secrets from her even from afar. The desire to mate becomes too painful to ignore but Rykr's secret could keep them apart.
I thought this book was okay. It was mostly only focused on emotion and lust with no real attention given to plot and I'm someone who finds both important for a good read. I'll admit I'm not familiar with the rest of the series this novella is based off of so that may have made a difference. It was well written and had some steamy scenes.

I can't finish this book, maybe it's because I haven't read anything else in the series beforehand to explain the characters in full but I just have no desire to continue reading. All of the characters are just these super powerful beings that seem to be really angry and animalistic and it is just not my cup of tea. Also the romance is just so sudden that you really don't care about the characters getting together at all. As well I have no idea what the characters look like except the main male love interest has tattoos and is muscular? Going to give 3 stars because maybe if I had read more of the previous books I would care about the characters more and I didn't actually finish it so I can't say how the plot turns out.

This was a delicious paranormal romance novella! I absolutely adored the couple and the story! The writing was great and the emotions and love that the protagonists felt was so well written. I thoroughly enjoyed this!

In Destined to crave book we see the story of what happens after the apocalypse and the story of the Guardian kids, that are now grown up. I must say it is a shame that Setta did not come up with a new series and the new plot, characters. She has basically the same sequence as in the previous story/books. My thinking of a book and story itself is great and intruding but seeing a bigger picture there are things that we all already read. Rykr and Lucy are too young to have some deep history and the book gives a feeling like a pre-book for an unknowable threat that is coming. But previous are different because the previous Guardians had their past and depth that felt by the young ones. It is an ok story and of course, she writes those bedroom scenes really good, but it is not all weight of the book in that. I wish that I would read something amazing and new that I always have in the previous books that this will not be copied in the future ones.

She had no idea the torment he would go through due to a curse he was given until she can no longer stay away from him.
This is the spin-off series of Setta Jay’s Guardians series that I devoured as they were released. I was really excited to learn that we’d be able to get more of this world she has created, a loose spin on Greek mythology. I loved getting to know Lucy and Rykr as they battle a new threat. It was a quick read but there was plenty of hawtness, a full character feel and a complete story. I also liked the brief appearances by some of my favorite characters from her previous books. I highly recommend.

I loved the Guardians series and their offspring promise to be just as great. I love that this one focuses on Lucy. It's sexy, romantic, intense, and fast paced. There are appearances from characters we have grown to love. There is a hint of a new threat and an upcoming series plotline. I was completely invested and can't wait for more!

I had actually read this book before, but that didn't stop me thoroughly enjoying it the second time around. I love this world and the characters in it and I really really hope that the series will continue.

This is a great start to a new series. I loved reading about the next generation of the Guardians. If you love PNR, this is the book for you. Setta Jay is one of my favorite Authors and she did not disappoint. Highly recommend!!!

I enjoyed this book. It was pretty short so I finished it in a few hours. The plot was intriguing and the way both mates fought to protect each other was great. I did however feel like the over all plot, (figuring out who and what David was and wanted) was overshadowed and forgotten as the writer focused on the love story. I wish it had been a little longer and we got a glimpse into their life after they accepted each other but for a short story it was okay.

The Guardians are back! Well, their offspring are. Destined to Crave is the prequel to the new Descended of Guardians series and it is obsession-worthy!

In Destined to Crave we have the children of previous couples from the Guardians of the Realms series. Rykr and Lucy have the fortunate misfortune of meeting when they were young. And by young, I mean before they hit their maturity and thus their mating urges. Lucy, the little minx, is 5 years Rykr's senior and has been around since he was a baby. The healers discovered the reason for their seeming affinity (completely friendly) as children. So because they met before maturity and they have already touched and spent time in the presence of each other, they are moving into uncharted territory on the eve of Lucy's 20th birthday (age of maturity). She knows she must break off any and all communication with Rykr for his own good but she also wants him to have time in his maturity to experience life before the mate bond makes demands on him. Lucy, knowing its for the best, decrees that Rykr must stay away from her until his 25th birthday so that he can grow into maturity.

Rykr has spent nearly 10 years desperately searching for the cure to the curse that has bound demons to his soul. The only reprieve from his unrelenting torture is his work as a secret assassin and slyly watching over his beautiful mate.

Seriously though, there were so many elements in here that were ohhh, so good. I, unfortunately, have not read The Guardians of the Realms series. I was a little hesitant to start bc of some of the elements that happened in the first book, BUT... it seems I may have to struggle through because this little novella was my crack! I love fated mates and paranormal troupes but add in some high-quality erotica and dirty talking and I am in!

I am now waiting on bated breath for the rest of this series to come out!

I loved this book, it was Hot 🥵 When they say charged, they mean charged ! It’s a great read, the characters will drive you insane (in a good way) thinking they know better for each other constantly, will they sort it out ? You need to read this to find out .

This book was hella intense... hella sexy... hella interesting... and hella fun!

When Rykr was 15 and Lucy was almost 20, they already knew they were destined to be mates. However, Lucy, being the eldest, thought she knew best and thought that before being tied to her forever, Rykr should have the chance to live with some freedom. She thought he should have the opportunity to experience life before settling down. She was reasonable, thoughtful and considerate. She broke both their hearts doing it but forbade him from claiming her for ten years!

Fast forward and we're almost at the deadline. The love that Rykr and Lucy shared never dulled but he seems to be in no hurry to claim her. Little does she know that Rykr has been tormented all these years and despite his desperation to be with her, he refuses to expose her to the agony he has had to face. These two constantly thought they knew what was best for the other and Lucy was over it. If he won't come to her, she's going to him and she won't be walking away without her man.

Destined to Crave gave me the chance to fall in love with these characters, the world they live in, the magic of this story, and the incredible heat. Erotic is an understatement. I'm so in love that I'm going back to the beginning. I've already one-clicked Ecstasy Unbound to meet everyone properly and become slightly obsessed with the series. I've found a new PNR author to stalk!

Back with my favourite guardians but this time the kids are in control!

Lucy and Rykr have known they were mates since they were teenagers but Lucy is 5 years older than Rykr and she wants him to have some kind of life before they are joined forever. She tells him not to contact her until he is 25 and he does not take her ultimatum well!

Rykr does not sit back and wait though. He has demons, actual demons, to deal with before he can get his HEA. But instead of trusting in destiny, they each determine what is best for the other and this leads to a heap of unhappiness for both!

This is more of a novella and I did rip through it very fast. I just wanted more really. It was well crafted and it was great to be back in the realms, checking in with the Guardians and seeing what they were up to now.

With kinky scenes, chemistry off the charts and an actual story line this was a great little nugget!

I really enjoyed the series that spawned this book and I’m so happy that the author has found a way to return to her world full of Gods, Immortals , magic and of course volcanic romance ! This time we are getting up close and very personal with the children of the original Guardians as time has moved on and the world as we know it has changed with the reemergence of the Realms. I was a tiny bit worried that I might not enjoy the next generation but I can assure everyone that this author has still got plenty of ideas to entertain her readers and maybe even make them blush !
This couple have known each other since childhood and as they grew up together became inseparable but discovered that they were destined to become Mates which is both wonderful and disastrous. Lucy is a few years older than Rykr and whilst she was almost fully matured had realised that as a powerful Immortal she could easily fall prey to the frenzy that would drive their Mating bond. Refusing to put the boy she loves through it too young she insists they part for ten years giving Rykr freedom to experience life before being bound for eternity but things happen to Rykr that have terrible repercussions which even Hades himself cannot stop ! The couple have waited so long and yet Rykr insists they cannot be together but what if Mating is the answer to everything ?
I won’t reveal what happens because this was quite short and it feels like it’s setting up for more to come. If you have read Ecstasy Unbound or indeed any of the Guardians of the Realms series then you will know that this author loves to shock and write incendiary sex scenes that titillate her readers. These powerful, dominant characters are such fun to read about but for this reader I just found that Rykr felt much younger than her previous heroes. Perhaps that was because he interacts with his father and grandfather quite a lot or maybe it’s because there isn’t really very much action here so my impression of him just didn’t really evolve. I really did enjoy the writing and I’m overjoyed that there will be more stories about these creatures of myths and legends because nobody has a wilder imagination than Ms Jay. So not my favourite book by her but still an entertaining read that almost set my kindle on fire !
