I found this book hard to like, probably because I could not stand Ben. I thought he was a jerk and I really was not rooting for them.

I sometimes like shifter-romances but this was not it. The thing with Justin was not explained like it should have been. Ben was annoying as heck and treated Diana horrible. Diana was alright. But none of the characters made me interested to read further.

Dianna is a twin! Not only is she a twin but she’s a Werewolf twin! When her twin brother becomes angry and reveals hisself for who he truly is, she must figure out how to rescue him. Ben is the scientist who is asked to develop a serum to tell Weres from humans. He hires Dianna. What happens next? Well you will have to read the book!

I read and reviewed this advanced complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley

This book was a big disappointment. I was hoping for an adventurous romance, with a bit o danger because of the whole danger to the species aspect, but what I got was a badly explained plot. Justin’s reaction was completely out of proportion and yet it wasn’t explained properly. I also really disliked Ben as a character. He was constantly blaming Diana for the attraction he felt for her and belittling her for being a female, which is despicable. Afterwards the whole thing was just ignored, because “mates”. To me, the whole book felt like lazy writing.

Lab Rats tells us the story of Dr. Diana Lutz a werewolf who’s brother outed werewolves on television. Diana is determined to find and save her brother from being tested and tortured by the government. This is a battle against time. She never expected to find her mate along the way. This is a sexy and exciting story with a surprising ending.

Shifter romances are always fun. This one has a really interesting and different spin on things! Diana's twin brother Justin transformed in to his wolf form on live national TV, exposing the were community to the world. The immediate response, of course, is fear and an attempt to figure out how to determine who is were and who isn't by means of a blood test. Diana is a genetics specialist. She is sent by the were community to work in one of the labs doing the work to determine a blood test. Ben is the professor running that lab.

To put it mildly, Ben is not a particularly nice guy. He improves over the course of the story, but he starts out as sexist and completely repressed. He is also very self-centered and doesn't spare much thought as to whether what he is doing is morally right. He classifies Justin and anyone like him as a "Monster,"

Diana is extremely smart and talented. She is attracted to Ben while at the same time disgusted by his behavior. They make a very unlikely pairing. The author does maybe too good a job of making Ben unlikable - because it is fairly difficult to like him or want Diana to be with him.

Overall this is a solid start to anew series. I am very interested to see where things go!

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.
