I don't know how he does it, but Chris Rice just keeps getting better with each Burning Girl novel. In Bone Music, we're introduced to Charlotte, or Charley, and she becomes the burning girl. In Blood Echo, we get a little more background on the characters, are introduced to new characters, and pretty much set up what happens next. In this latest installment, there is so much action, tension, and overall fast pacing that you better buckle up, because it doesn't let up until the very end.

Technically Blood Victory can be read as a standalone, but I feel like you'd be missing so much crucial background information that spans the course of the three books by skipping ahead. Part of the reason I keep coming back to these books is my fondness and connection to the characters, primary and secondary alike, and you'd really be doing yourself a disservice by missing out on this portion. If you enjoy science fiction thrillers where the science part feels like it could be 99.9% real, you should jump onto the hype train and join the Burning Girl fan club. As always, these books contain graphic violence and disturbing thematic elements, so reader discretion is advised.

I was interested on how this book would go as I have read the first book in the series but not the second. It surprised me that it didn’t leave too many holes and answered what I needed to know enough for me to get by. Pretty cool concept. Only one girl in the entire world has the capacity to take this special drug that makes you super human and basically able to be the strongest person in the world. And they, a government organization of sorts, are trying to get her to use it for good? Very fast paced and full of intense action. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was my first book by this author and whoa! I haven’t read the first two books and now need to go back to get a better understanding of the characters. But let’s just say this is fast paced and thrilling and you won’t be able to sleep without a nightlight after finishing!

A fast moving, character driven storyline combining a bit of sci-fi vigilante work with the sinister actions of a serial killer. This is the third book in the series and can be read as a stand alone. The story is well written and moves at a decent pace. Overall good read. 4 stars.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC of #BloodVictory which was read and reviewed voluntarily by @wayward_readers

My favorite book in the Burning Girl series! The pacing was on point, loved seeing my favorite characters, loved the extra love story, and the serial killer motives. Loved the nostalgia as well! I can't wait to see more Burning Girl!

This is the third installment in this series. Charlotte Rowe is hunting a serial killer as our story opens. Charlotte or Charley as she prefers to be called is the child of a murder victim. Her Mother was killed by a serial killing couple, who then raised her as their own. Charley was saved at an early age, but her life and her real Father never let her forget. She was later exploited as an adult with an experimental drug trial. The drug causes Charley to have super strength. She can tear the doors off of a car without a thought..

This time around Charley is flying solo with her boyfriend Luke to catch a killer. The organization that makes the drug is watching her closely for her own benefit to help her should the need arise. The head of the organization is Cole Graydon. He seems to have Charley's best interests in mind, but do the people he works with? Will they help her or hurt her? Can Charley endure what this killer has in mind for her, long enough to trigger the drug in her blood?

This is a truly terrifying serial killer! This book kept me up all night reading till I got to the end. It was terrific and I hope he continues with more stories of Charlotte Rowe.

Charlotte Rowe became the unwitting recipient of an experimental drug that had killed everyone who tried it but gave her superhuman abilities. She is working with Grayson Pharmaceutical and a secretive group of wealthy investors called The Consortium. They hunt down serial killers and use Charlotte as bait to lure them in and stop them. The latest target is a long haul driver named Cyrus Mattingly whose unusual purchases caught their attention. They learn how he chooses his next victim but they want to know where he takes them and Charlotte has to allow herself to be captured and on the brink of hell before she can be triggered and her search for truth begins
This is the third in the series and I think you should read the first two to truly understand the characters, backstory and where they are now.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next in the series.
If you enjoy J. D. Barker, Dean Koontz or Stephen King’s Outsider series then I think you will enjoy this.
Blood Victory will be released on August 18th but Kindle has it for just 5.99 on Goodreads so pre-order today!
Thank you to #netgalley and #thomas&mercer for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Burning Girl is back! Christopher Rice has given us another great Burning Girl story with Blood Victory.

"Charlotte Rowe has extraordinary power after surviving an experimental drug. Now she hunts predators and serial killers with the help of her boyfriend, Luke and Cole Graydon, the head of Graydon Pharmaceuticals.
They believe Cyrus Mattingly has been killing girls for years. But they don't know where his kill zone is. So Charlotte must let Cyrus take her - in the back of his 'horror-show' truck, so that he can be stopped. But something Cyrus says makes them question everything..."

The action and tension is non-stop. Charlotte (or Charley) will do what it takes to stop these guys ffrom killing again. The device that Cyrus uses to keep girls subdued in back of the truck is horrifying. Some great imagination from Rice, but if you're squeamish about rats and snakes and spiders, you'll be very uncomfortable. Along the way we get some of Cyrus's backstory and some about the mysterious Mother. Rice brings in characters called the Consortium that have their own agenda and creates more tension. We get to see Charley be the Burning Girl. And there's more great technology. I like that Rice allows the characters to grow and change. It makes the series more enjoyable. I raced through this in a couple of days. Out in August, you will definitely want to read this one.

I absolutely love this series! Rice gives enough background in this installment so you don't have to read the previous two, but it makes it so much better if you do. There's something incredibly satisfying about revenge, especially against monsters that totally deserve it and Charley certainly delivers. I can't wait to see where this series goes next.

‘Blood Victory’ has Charlotte Rowe and her consortium of merry crime fighting men going after a long haul trucker Cyrus Mattingly they suspect to be a serial killer. Charlotte sets herself up to be a victim in order to find out more about where Cyrus is keeping his victims and what he does with them when he’s finished. But things don’t go exactly to plan and it’s up to Charlotte and Luke to try and salvage things and get the answers they need.
I don’t want to give too much away with my review, but there is a bit more focus on other characters in this book, like Cole, Noah and even one of the serial killer victims.
I understood why Charlotte wanted to track this long haul truck driver serial killer, but I thought the killer’s reasoning wasn’t explained well enough. He had mixed ‘killer messages’. The sub-plot involving Cyrus’ family while interesting to read, didn’t make a lot of sense. It felt a bit muddled.
If you liked the previous books in this series you’ll definitely be interested in what Charlotte is up to in ‘Blood Victory’. This was a gnarly action packed thriller with a touch of the supernatural. A good read. 4 stars.

Charley is back and tracking her next serial killer. This fast paced story kept me on the edge of my seat right from the beginning. Christopher Rice has created another thrilling, terrifying, and mind blowing installment in the Burning Girl series. Must read series for fans of Dean Koontz. Can’t wait for more!

Thank you Netgalley for sharing this book with me in exchange for a honest review.

I have read the Burning Girls since it was released. I absolutely love reading the book in the series.

** Oops....There is a Problem.

In the first book, Charlotte becomes an unintended lab experiment. I loved how focus was on Charlotte. All the key characters are revealed - Noah, Cole, and Charlotte.

** Let's find a solution for the Problem

In the second book, Charlotee undergoes a life changing experiment to test the the use of the pill. The main focus was on Cole. Bailey and Luke are added to the team.

** Its time to test the solution for a bigger cause.

In the third book, the experiment is tested in the public. Charlotte is luring a serial killer for justice. Cole's team is backing her up. It takes a team to succeed!

Focus is on the entire team this time. It was as if the big picture is revealed.

There are also concepts of team building, reconciliation, and romance incorporated with the thriller.

(1) Cole reconciles with Noah.
(2) Noah reconciles with Charlotte.
(3) Bailey is reunited with his brother, Luke.

I cant wait for the fourth book as the story continues.

On a cross-country journey to hell, fear is the engine and vengeance is the destination as Christopher Rice’s Amazon Charts bestselling series continues.

As the test subject of an experimental drug, Charlotte Rowe was infused with extraordinary powers. As the secret weapon of a mysterious consortium, she baits evil predators and stops them in their tracks. But it takes more than fear to trigger what’s coursing through Charlotte’s blood. She needs to be terrorized. Serial killer Cyrus Mattingly is up to the task.

Cyrus is a long-haul truck driver, and his cargo bay is a gallery of horrors on wheels. To stop his bloodshed, Charlotte will become his next victim, reining in her powers so she can face each of his evils in turn.

But Cyrus isn’t working alone and as Charley figures this out, she and the rest of the group must decide, do they stop Cyrus and risk losing the true ringleader or keep going and possibly expose Charley’s powers to more people than necessary.

Rice has done it again with this third installment in the Burning Girl series. You'll be left with a wonderful story, wanting more and more!

I received this ARC for an honest review. OMG! What a mind bender! This is an awesome series! Technically you can read this story without reading the other two, but I highly recommend reading them. Christopher Rice knows how to pull you into the story and you feel what his characters feel. His talent shines with this series.
This is book 3 in the “A Burning Girl” series where Charlotte is hunting serial killers. In this story Charlotte and Luke are hunting Cyrus Mattingly. Cyrus goes after assertive women. He likes to breaks them. I’m not going into details because you need to read this book! Charlotte & Luke are working with Cole & “The Consortium” who help pay the bills and teach Charlotte how to use her new abilities that was forced on her by Noah Turlington with an experimental drug (Zypraxon) that causes paradrenaline to be released.
I don’t want to give more away because you need to go through this experience with the characters. I highly recommend this series. You will not be disappointed.

One of my favorite times of the year is when Christopher Rice novels are ready for reviewing. I love The Burning Girl series so much and am always impatiently waiting for a new one to pop up. Blood Victory will be released later this summer and it's safe to say that this series is well on it's way for a successful tenure.

With Rice's previous release, Blood Echo, we saw a transitional time for our serial killing, drug enhanced superhero Charlotte. I wondered where the series would go as we ventured on to a formalized and powerful team, led by Cole and secretly having research provided by Noah. Blood Victory starts right off right after the events from Blood Echo—Charlotte, Luke, Cole, and now Noah are teaming up to not only test the power of Zypraxon (the drug that gives Charlotte superhuman strength and healing), but to also take down notorious serial killers around the country. The team focuses on Cyrus Mattingly—a seemingly dorky and nervous man who “gets his rocks off” on preying on women who are combative towards him. As the plan is in motion, the team is ill prepared for what seemed like an easy operation. This book is the most fast-paced in the trilogy and can easily be read in one sitting (like I did on the plane)!

I love this series so much. It was a page turner from the get-go I get so engrossed I can't stop. I love all the characters their back stories, How each characters story builds up in each book that comes out. These are definitely a page turner, gripping and suspenseful. Can't wait for the next book after this one. In the mean time I'm going to try some of Christopher Rice's other books.

I've been eagerly anticipating this novel since I read the last book in the Burning Girl series. I love Charlotte and her team! They fight against darkness and give the reader hope for the innocent. The story is part superheroine, one-third psychological thriller and finally an enduring love story. The author's creativity is off the charts and this series needs to be made into a movie pronto!

So happy to report that this third book in Christopher Rice's Burning Girl series is another packed with adventure and a highly addictive page turner.

Charley Rowe is back, once again infused with super powers due to an experimental drug, and on the hunt for serial killers. This time her target is Cyrus Mattingly, who not only is a murderer but also seems to be part of something even more evil and heinous.

Directed by the consortium, a small group of billionaires looking to cash in on the drug and its possible implications, they direct and try to control Charley and her boyfriend's actions. They encourage Charley to trigger, monitoring her constantly, so that the drug will generate the super human strength that turns Charley into an indestructible force. She is their test rat, the only person so far that the drug has not killed. Charley has her own demons that chase her and as the series progresses we learn more about her and the people who surround her.

Charley allows herself to be captured by this heinous man who carries out his tortures in his tractor trailer cab. It's hair raising and gruesome the things that this monster has done, and how he has acquired his victims.

But there is something else that Charley stumbles onto, something even more diabolical, malevolent, and wicked. Will Charley be able to stop the evil that surrounds Cyrus Mattingly or will this be the time she is unable to help those in peril?

Exciting, scary, gruesome, and horrifying are the events in this book. However, if you enjoy a tightly told story that doesn't let up on the tension and has crushing details, this is a book and a series to indulge in. Mr Rice has once again captured the essence of evil and sent the heroic Charley in pursuit of justice and the end of perversity.

Thank you to Christopher Rice, Thomas and Mercer, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book due out August 18, 2020.

In the third entry in the Burning Girl series, Charlotte Rowe is still learning the extent of the extraordinary powers she was given via an experimental drug. The corporation who drugged her is using her as a secret weapon, using her as bait to take out some of the worst criminals in the world. The problem is, for her powers to take effect, Charlotte must be scared to death. Now she’s up against serial killer Cyrus Mattingly, a man guaranteed to scare the most stalwart of people. This unique and original series sets up a woman as the ultimate punishment to the most evil of men and is not for those afraid of a little gore
