I really enjoyed this book. I found it to be fast-paced and engaging. It really has a unique perspective on a serial killer using his own daughter as bait and how traumatic that was for the daughter (Reni). Reni and Homicide Detective Daniel are both intriguing, flawed characters. I'm looking forward to book 2!

Where do I start? Lol. But firstly, I want to thank Netgalley, Anne Frasier, and Thomas & Mercer for giving me an opportunity to read and review this book.

This book is the first book in Inland Empire series. It follows the story of Reni Fisher. Her father was a serial killer who people know as The Inland Empire Killer. When Reni was a child, her father used her as a bait to lure the women he wants to kill. She didn't realized that her father was killing the women because her dad keeps telling her that it was just a game. But one night, one of her father's victims escaped and reported it to the police leading to the arrest of her father. 30 years later, Reni became an FBI Profiler. And she was forced by Detective Daniel Ellis to help her find the bodies of her father's victims. And so, the story goes on.

I know I'm not a good descriptor of the story. Lol. But it's more than the description this book has. It is really informative. And as a person who loves to study forensic science and Psychology, it's really interesting to me. Like I found out "new terms" in human behaviour, and this book has so many facts about forensic science from the view point of Psychology. The facts that the author are dropping are mix with the way the character's thoughts so it's not annoying to read.

Honestly, if you are interested with how the crime scene investigations works (like me) this book is perfect for you. It mentioned different parts of investigations and I loved it. My knowledge of True Crime expanded. It also tackles the signs of Gaslighting and how bad it is affecting the victim for the rest of her life. And honetstly, her sanity. You will clearly tell that the character is scarred.

As for the plot, I think it's in the right pace. I mean it's not slow or fast. And for a 280+ pages book it covers so much character profiles, backgrounds, and information or "clues" to the mystery.

In most books I was annoyed with flashbacks, but in this one I wasn't. The flashbacks weren't boring or annoying because you will clearly see that it's a big part on the plot.

I also thought in the later part of the book that some of the plot twists weren't really necessary. And I said that maybe it's the way of the author to give the book more thrilling. But when I got to the ending I realized that it's a big part in the plot, and it made the book more thrilling. I'm not saying that these plot twists are the only thrilling in this book, but these plot twists made the book even better.

The main character, Reni, is so interesting to read 'cause she is always questioning her thoughts. Then add the more interesting part where you will clearly see that what her father done to her affected her for the resf of her life, but inspite of that, she is a really good person. She is not annoying and she is easy to feel attached to. As for Daniel, you will also see what his experience in childhood affects on what a person he is in the present. I really loved this two getting along, especially when they are investigating the crimes. And I already ship them the second they met.

I also expected that the author would put a romance plot in this. But no, haha. I should be disappointed but I'm really not. It's just clearly shows that writing a thrilling book doesn't really need a "romance trope". And the connection of Reni and Daniel are in the right track. I mean if you want to see them as friends their dynamics support it. But if you want to see them as a "potential couple" you also can see a deep connection between them.

My only problem with this book is that there are some things that clearly need a thorough explanation. Like why or how did this happen. Or why this character is suddenly involved. And honestly, for me I think the ending is just so sudden and a bit....over? I think. Lol.

I rated this book 4.8 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. I know there are some things that needs clarification but I think it's just a little flaw, 'cause nothing is perfect (lol). But all in all I really enjoyed this book. And I really want to pick up the second book! It gives me a thrilling vibe and I learned so much about psychology and forensic science from this book. Totally recommend this book to everyone, especially for those who are interested in forensic science.

Wow! Read this book! It will be the best book you’ve never heard of. I’m not sure why this book wasn’t everywhere but I’m so happy I had the chance to read it. Thank you so much to Thomas & Mercer, Anne Frasier, and Netgalley for this ARC. What originally drew it to me was that it was set in the area where I currently live. I love reading about places I know, and even better when it’s a twisted thriller like this one.

Thoughts: I was sucked into this story right away. It was about a serial killer who used his daughter to lure in women. His daughter Reni becomes an FBI profiler before going off the grid, but when his last wish is to see her, she has to face her father again. This story was fast-paced and intriguing- a plot I hadn’t read before. I couldn’t help but be sucked in to the story and I loved both Reni and the other main character, Daniel. I loved learning about both their backgrounds and what made them who they are.

This story was full of twists and turns and I wasn’t sure where I was going to end up. Frasier is a fantastic writer and, having been in many of the places she described, her writing was accurate and familiar. I am happy there will be more books and there was an ongoing mystery introduced that will be fun to follow. 5-stars and I can’t wait for more!

Find Me is an outstanding start to a new series.
How do you get past your beloved father being a prolific serial killer who used you as bait to attract the victims? How do you get past that despite the fact that you were FIVE years old, some people still manage to blame you? As if she doesn't have enough guilt on her own. Meet Reni Fisher former FBI profiler.
How do you get past the fact that your mother disappeared one night and her body never recovered. How do you past the fact that now you have a chance to find her body if the killer's ex-FBI daughter, who had a breakdown, will assist in the case? Meet Daniel Ellis, San Bernadino detective.
Meet Benjamin Fisher who made a game out of murder with his daughter. He's just a loving dad who is desperate to see his daughter, and will finally give up the location of the burial ground in order to do so.
A fantastically painted landscape, so many characters with a screw loose. So dark and twisted. Give me more.
Let me interrupt my regularly scheduled review with a clever aside. Okay, maybe not clever. Frasier's Body Reader trilogy is just as dark, just as outstanding. But wait, there is more: Frasier's Elise Sandburg's four book series, is dark, occasionally humorous , and set in Savannah. Standout event in that one series- Elise was going to try therapy due to her kidnapping and torture by a serial killer. She made the therapist cry and was told not to come back. I love black humor.
Okay back to review. I think Frasier flies way under the goodreads radar. I can't imagine why as she is a standout. Its hard to make a serial killer book fresh and original. Frasier manages to do so with Find Me.
Just go read it. Then go back and read everything else she has written.
Thank you to NetGalley for and ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Most fans of thrillers would have read enough serial killer books but rarely are books focused on the family of a serial killer. Find Me by Anne Frasier is chilling not because of any gruesome killing, well that too, but coz of the emotional abuse and trauma that children of serial killer face. The story is dark, the opening chapter itself causing a spiky heartbeat. The author’s portrayal of the use of an innocent child for a parent’s whim is stark and graphic.

In fact, the whole book is about the trauma that not just Reni as Benjamin Fisher’s daughter and victim of his crimes is going thru but also how the loss of a mother shaped the entire life of Detective Daniel Ellis. 30 yrs. of searching for her father’s victims haven’t given Reni the peace and freedom from guilt and I was really thankful that there was only a small part of Ben Fisher as Anne Frasier’s writing is so vivid that I didn’t want to read any more manipulative techniques on Reni.

I loved both Reni’s and Daniel’s character as individuals who have faced baptism by fire and still be strong although the emotions are sometimes crippling them. The final chapters with its terrible reveals had me literally on my feet trying to keep my thumping heart under control. The atmosphere created in the story is another plus as the desert and the skies adds a layer of vastness and limitless boundaries.
Eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

#FindMe #NetGalley Thanks for this exciting read!
Amazingly well done thriller of two people, Daniel and Reni- both have been working largely in the same field for the same purpose. Reni as a FBI Profiler and Daniel as an investigative detective. The same serial killer had motivated both of them.

Reni's father, Ben known as the Inland Empire serial killer, whose arrest when she was eight years old had marred her life was ready to divulge where he had buried the bodies. Daniel who had interviewed him many times had strong suspicions that his mother was one of them.

Ben Fisher had a condition on this disclosure, that his daughter accompany them and a minimum of people would be a part of this happening. A complex series of events ensues which began to unravel layers of suppressed memories and some astonishing revelations.

I was almost afraid to read at night! Absolutely riveting and I will await the sequel.

I have not read a book with so much twist and turns before!
A thriller job very well done!

A psychological thriller with a good premise but the story telling puts it down in places and then pulls it back. The narrative is unstable as though the author is not sure of the characters and how to project them. As I haven't read her other books I don't know if this is her style. 3.5 stars

San Bernardino homicide detective Daniel Ellis is summoned to San Quentin prison to speak to convicted serial killer Benjamin Fisher, the Inland Empire Killer from thirty years ago. Fisher will reveal where bodies are buried in the Mojave Desert on condition that he meets up with his ex FBI daughter Reni who as a little girl helps him entice the help of the women he goes on to kill. What unfolds takes the investigation in unexpected directions.

This should have been an interesting read as the premise is good but the plodding style, short sentence structure and lack of much description leaves me underwhelmed. I like the characters of Daniel and Reni as their backgrounds are very interesting but the constant flitting backwards and forwards in time becomes irritating and some of the information given doesn’t add a great deal to the storytelling. There is some excitement on occasions but then it’s lost with a flashback. The end is unlikely and a bit crazy.

Overall, an average, quick read which is so disappointing as I’ve read this author before and liked what I read.

With thanks to NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer

I’m ashamed to admit that this is my first Anne Frasier book because this totally blew me away! It’s a fabulous start to a new series the author is writing. In Find Me a terrifying serial killer uses his young daughter to lure his victims to their death. Now after spending thirty years in prison he is ready to give up the locations of their graves. He offers to take detective Daniel Ellis to the graves on one condition: his daughter Reni Fisher, former FBI profiler, must go with them.

Even though she was just a small child, Reni has spent many years fighting guilt for the part she played in her father’s crimes. No longer with the FBI, she just wants to be left alone. Daniel convinces her this may be her chance for closure. They agree to work together to find the graves of the missing women, but Daniel has his own secrets.

There were so many twists and turns to this story that every time I thought I knew where it was going it took another direction. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat all the way up to the climactic end. I would recommend this book to anyone who like psychological thriller type books. I am looking forward to the next book in the series as well as Frasier’s backlist. Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read this book. I gave it four stars.

A new thrilling series by Anne Frasier. When her father, convicted serial killer Benjamin Fisher, wants one more meeting with his daughter Reni, the detective heading the case agrees. Detective Daniel Ellis needs Benjamin to locate the graves of his missing victims and if access to Reni will give the families closure, then Reni agrees. She was part of his “game” when she was little and would do anything to help the victims’ families. Reni’s worry is for her mother whose life will once again be disrupted, but everything is not as it seems as Benjamin has other plans. As they look for graves in the Mojave Desert, Reni begins to remember more about the “games” and fears that she and Daniel may have been set up. Will they make it out of the desert alive? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Frasier begins a new series with a convicted serial killer at last offering to give up the locations of his victims, but only if his estranger daughter will accompany him and the detective. Reni Fisher wants nothing to do with her father, she works as a profiler, trying to stop monsters like him, but she can’t say no to a request that will bring closure to grieving families. She also feels she has to atone for being her father’s unwitting accomplice all those years ago, he used her to lure other children to him. This is an intense read, with a conflicted heroine and a dynamite plot

This was really good! I wasn’t familiar with this author, but based on the book’s synopsis I thought I’d give it a shot. Wow! Right from the first chapter it hooks you and you can’t put it down until you resolve the case, Part mystery, part twisted father-daughter relationship, I thought it was a completely unique storyline. I would definitely recommend giving it some attention, especially for those true crime enthusiasts.

Another emotional suspense roller coaster read from Anne Fraisier. This book sucks your soul in on the first few pages and Does. Not. Let. Go. Until we find out how this story plays out. Read it in two days!!

Convicted serial killer Benjamin Fisher has finally offered to lead San Bernardino detective Daniel Ellis to the isolated graves of his victims. One catch: he’ll only do it if FBI profiler Reni Fisher, his estranged daughter, accompanies them. As hard as it is to exhume her traumatic childhood, Reni can’t say no. She still feels complicit in her father’s crimes.

Wow. Just Wow. This review is hard to write because this book left me about speechless. It's this author's best. I was completely sucked in from page one. The characters are complex and intriguing. The plot is twisted and a bit dark. There were several amazing twists. There were some aspects that I saw coming but it never took away from the suspense. This is one that will stick with you long after the last page. I'm excited for the next book and so glad this is the first of what promises to be an excellent series.

Fantastic, dark, mystery. I love every second of this book. The author hooks you in the first few pages and never let's go. Ms. Frasier's mind is an interesting place and she is a master at coming up with tortured characters you root for and hurt for.
In this book we have ex FBI profilers and child of a serial killer, Reni. Loved the unique name as well. She is the main female lead. Her father used her when she was very young to lure 8n his prey. She can't seem to understand how her very loving father could also be a murdering sociopath.
Our male lead is Daniel who is a detective and son of a woman who went missing when he was a young boy. He became a detective in order to better search for his mother. It's an obsession that cost him his marriage.
The two team up to try to find the missing women and where they are buried. The story is fascinating from start to finish and I hope this turns into a series. I love both characters. There is no romance, just a friendship and an intriguing whodunit with lots of twists and turns. This can be a standalone.

This novel was an absolute thrill beginning to end. The start with a young Reni essentially a partner to her serial killer father. Growing up she is faced with meeting with her father again. Trying to solve all of his unsolved murders, we discover a bunch of deep buried secrets. Frasier never disappoints.
