I wanted to like this more than I did. But I struggled with connecting to Clementine and Jack and the plot was reminiscent of a lot of other heist like rom coms.

"Don't Go Stealing My Heart" by Kelly Siskind presents a quirky and entertaining romance that blends humor with heart. The story, centered around a charismatic thief and the intriguing target who captures her heart, sets the stage for an unconventional love story. Siskind's writing is lively and engaging, injecting a good dose of wit into the narrative that keeps readers entertained. However, while the novel promises a unique twist on romantic tropes, it occasionally falls into familiar patterns, somewhat diminishing its freshness. Despite this, "Don't Go Stealing My Heart" offers a fun and light-hearted read, making it a solid choice for those looking for a romance with a bit of comedic relief.

DNF at 20%. I love a good heist story and was really excited at the start of this. However, it didn't hold up for me and I decided to stop reading. It felt like everything was too over the top - the Elvis competition, the Robin Hood nature of the stealing, the "too cute" coincidence of their pet names - it just added up to making it feel cheesy and lost me. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advance reading copy.

I had really high hopes going into this one, but it wasn`t as fun and sizzling as i thought it was going to be.
Clemetine was ok as a con-artist, but the romance between her and Jack, was meh at best.

Even if you aren't an Elvis fan this book is a delight! The mix of a very loose retelling of Robin Hood and Elvis impersonators is so fun. There is definitely some spice, but there are also some real life issues that are dealt with. I really enjoyed this book even more than I anticipated!

a girl Robin Hood, hmm.... it was okay, but kind of reads like the author is throwing out books every year (like they are...)

I didn't realize this was a sequel when requesting it and I really have no interest at the moment of finding and reading book one. It sounds cute and quirky and maybe one day I'll pick up book one and then come back to this, but for now I'm going to have to pass.

It was fun, cute, quirky read. It reminded me of an old-school heist book by Suzanne Enoch. I did find that it took me a while to connect with the characters, but overall it was nice to delve into it. Personal pet peeve: Elvis shows the age of the author not the characters.

I had received an eARC of this before it released a few years back, but never got around to reading it until now, and I really enjoyed it! The premise was so unique and different than any romance I'd ever read. It used a small-town romance trope and flipped it on it's head with Clementine's job as, essentially, an art thief. There was suspense, there was romance, and there was quirkiness (hello - Elvis tribute artist festival?!). I thought all of it wove together wonderfully to craft a great narrative.

Will definitely look at picking up some of the author's other works!

This was a fun book to read but I didn't feel any connections with the characters and the ending seemed like a Bollywood movie.

This was a sweet surprise of a story, it kept me on my toes, for the first half, I kept thinking, this a romance, how could this end well? Well, there is a bittersweet event that is heartbreaking, however the love story and the super sweet HEA makes up for it.

The blurb of the book seemed really interesting, and I was curious to read it, but I couldn't really connect with the characters and the story. I also didn't really see any development regarding Clementine and Jack's relationship.

I actually enjoyed this book more than I thought. It was the perfect quirky romance. I liked the Robin Hood element and how the two characters were together. It's definitely a book that will leave you with a big smile on your face.

Clementine is a modern day Robin Hood - she steals from the rich to give to the poor. Her next mark? Jack David. He is a Elvis impersonator and owner of a priceless Van Gogh painting that Clementine is going to steal. Falling for Jack is the worst idea, but Clementine can’t quite help herself.

I thought this was cute - it was pretty “out there,” and I typically like my books more realistic. Could it happen? Sure, but there were so many quirky things going on. I think it would have been more believable if Clementine was a their OR Jack was an Elvis impersonator. It just felt like too unrealistic at times.

I wanted so badly to love this book. I really did.

I think a few things, in general, didn't work for me. The first was the writing style; I hate the phrase "show don't tell" because sometimes it is nice to just tell! But in this case, it felt like the descriptions went on for pages, if not chapters, at a time. A few other reviewers have also mentioned this, but this story falls flat because it's a little bit rom-com and a little bit suspense, but not enough of either to make it work. So it just is in this awkward middle ground where you don't know if you should be worried, laugh, or what. Also, each and every character fell into a stereotype and had to have a quark, and it was so cringy insta-love. And while the spicy scenes were lovely and sweet (and warm of course), it felt like it went from 0-60. I honestly was expecting this to be closed-door, and there was so little chemistry that it just felt forced to me.

I think what sealed the deal for me not likely this book was Jack's flashback scene to the bathroom incident in high school. It was so unnecessarily descriptive and I felt incredibly uncomfortable reading about a teenage boy (and the young girl honestly!) in that situation. It didn't add anything to the story and my biggest emotional take-away from this book was how uncomfortable it made me feel.

Also, what was the point of that twist at the end? Like seriously? Why did I just read this whole book and her whole back story? Her whole premise of being a modern-day Robin Hood just flies out the window. It felt like it was done for shock value and it completely undermines the major plotline of the book.

All in all, I think it's a combination of writing style and plot devices that just didn't work for me and this book. And as much as the other books in this series sound intriguing, I'm hesitant to pick them up, because storylines are one thing, the writing style not working for me is another.

This was a cute, quirky and speedy romance with a modern day female Robin Hood. It provides enough entertainment and is a great escape read!
