Don't Go Stealing My Heart is what i expected and more.
The author surprises us in so many aspects.
Some examples:
_Clementine, the heroine is a modern Robin Hood, she steals to help people who have nothing, like her when she was younger.
_Maxwell Jack, the hero, is a tribute artist (first time in my life i read something like that).
_If you love reptiles you're gonna be happy !
_A town and shops with quirky names.
_An impersonator contest.
_Heist, thieves, suspense, surprising twists...
This story is funny and steamy and deeply emotional (but not too teary), your heart will be full and you will end this book with a big smile !
I love Elvis'music so i love Kelly Siskind's choice and she succeeds to make me understand those men and women who impersonate celebrities. I thought that was a lack of personnality and a bit sad but finally i totally understood our hero and i rooted for him.
I love Jack's family, yes they are rich but with them you can forget all your prejudices.
Jack is so different from the kind of heroes we are used too. He's sensitive, hot, sweet and a bit weird but in an adorable way.
Clementine is just amazing, a real badass. She's a survivor and a fighter.
Their banter and their chemistry is off the chart.
The last twist of the story is worthy of a funny and suspenseful movie.

Clementine considers herself a modern day Robin Hood, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Her latest heist has her in small town Nebraska trying to steal a priceless Van Gogh from a stuck up trust-fund brat. Except it turns out that the trust-fund brat isn’t all the bratty. In fact he’s quite sexy and kind-hearted and Clementine is in deep trouble.

This is a fun story. I laughed out loud a few times while reading. I love the idea of a female Robin Hood/con artist. The heroine is great and the hero is amazing too. Definitely unique and quirky characters. I love their bantering and chemistry. The ending was a bit rushed but otherwise I enjoyed it thoroughly.

BURNING LOVE.

I didn’t know that I would love an Elvis, tribute artist, as much as I did. But Jack swooned me away with those hips and voice [which unfortunately had to be totally in my head] BUT STILL. Ultra-swoonworthy Not-Maxwell Jack is a lovely romantic interest.

Clementine was a solid heroine. I thought the way she approached her past was heart-breaking, but what she thought was best (at the time). I loved seeing her learn to accept love and trust in her life. It was a long time coming for Clementine to get a break for once. The way she gave up what she was doing, knowing it was wrong, was the kind of changes I love seeing. Especially the fact that she communicated with Jack.

Now, the communication was great for 95% of it. Then, the critical moment when she honestly should have just said something to Jack, she decided it was best to go in the complete opposite direction? WHY. Clementine spent the entire time learning to open up, and when the test came, she failed. And it bothered me. I thought it at least worked out better than I’ve seen in familiar moments in other books. It let to a bigger reveal that I hadn’t quite realized was happening.

I thought the story was cute and playful. The idea of Clementine being a Robin Hood-type criminal was different than my usual romances. Add in the fact that Jack loves dressing up as Elvis and I have definitely never read a book like this! I love its uniqueness factor. Kept me interested and flipping pages. The small town vibes and sub-plots were great. There was a good amount of steam and innuendo throughout. You can feel the slow burn between them (even as the time is short), for a more insta-love, it was written so well I hardly noticed. I was cheering on Clementine and Jack.

The ending was a bit abrupt. After the big ending, it skipped to a year-later epilogue. While that kind of jarred me, I did love the epilogue. It was perfectly cute and the best happily ever after. I can’t wait to read her next story!

I wasn’t really a fan of this one. I think there were too many twists and turns that the story got a bit overwrought. I was hoping for more lead up to a quirky romance and it kind of happened all at once and then was put in the back burner.

I received an ARC for my honest opinion. This book I about con woman Clementine trying to steal an unknown treasure from a rich jerk Maxwell. Turns out Maxwell is not a jerk and Clementine has a quarter life crisis, realizing she wants a real life.

I liked the development of their relationship.. they seems to get to know each other before getting together. I also liked the character development. The author took some time to explain the MCs personality and backstory.

This book was as much a romance as a coming of age. Clementine does not just give up her life for a man, but realizes what she wants and begins to persue it, without Maxwell.

There is some cute banter and some funny setups.. an entire Elvis tribute festival is running in the background of the entire novel. At first I thought it was a little corny or a running gag, but the author talks about it with such sincerity I couldn't help but like it.

The only thing I didn't really like was the resolution to Clementine's past. No spoilers, but it was not for me. The book ends quite abruptly following this resolution, so thank goodnessfor the epilogue! It was much more in line with this sweet, light-hearted read.

3.8 Stars if I’m being technical. A little thin in places but overall it was adorable.

I love the way Siskind writes and builds characters. They have depth and delightful quirks that make them relatable but interesting to read. I only wish there had been more space devoted to more secondary character building. I felt a lack of supporting cast.

The Elvis Festival and place names were adorkable and fun. Jack’s rivalry was a great story arc. Clementine’s backstory was a touch up and down for me, I can’t say much critiquing here because of spoilers. There was a naïveté in our main characters irked at times but overall, I enjoyed them.

Mostly, I just like that author infuses a seriousness to the characters and situations that keep it from being too fluffy. I enjoy that touch of heavy that makes it feel more real, even if the premise is a romantic make-believe.

My heart has been stolen by this book.This is probably my favorite rom-com of the year and it's only March. As a kid my nickname was Hound Dog and I was convinced I was going to be Elvis when I grew up, so this book taking place surrounding an Elvis festival and Impersonator Contest was right up my alley! The whole concept of the book is absurd in the best way possible; Clementine a modern day Robin Hood falls for her rich but humble, Elvis loving mark, Jack, when she decides to steal a painting from his family estate. I have read a book by Kelly Siskind before and HATED it so I am so surprised by how much I loved this one.

There are not much books around featuring a female thief. When i read the synopsis, i was expecting the book to be funny and quirky, and guess what, i was not disappointed. Love everything about Clementine and Jack. The bond between them is steamy! The language is simple and a lovely page turner that is not like any other rom-com. Grab this one, you’ll definitely not be disappointed!

I'll admit I have mixed feelings about it. I liked the main characters, their backstory and meet cute. I also enjoyed their banter and romantic development. However the scene where they were intimate felt like it was too far from Jack's character. Perhaps too dominant when nothing else about him was.
The Elvis story arc was different and fun and I chuckled when they banded together and helped out.

When I first started to read this book I knew instantly that I was going to like it... I did not realise how much I was going to love it though!
It actually had me laughing out loud, it had my heart racing and had me silently begging for things to work out
This is the first book from this author that I have read and it definitely won't be the last!
From the start one of the main characters got under my skin, in a way that I wanted to protect her, her name is Clementine, she is a lost soul doing what she thinks is the right thing but really it's the wrong thing but in her mind for the right reasons.
She is a con artist, a cat burgeler, a modern day Robin Hood. She takes from the rich to give to the poor which makes it right... Doesn't it?
On the heist she is instructed to do by her father figure Lucien, she has to go to a little town called Whichway, in this delightful town she finds people she wants to be friends with, this is something she has never had before. She meets a man who she immediately falls for, but that's OK because he isn't the person she is there to fleece... Is he?
Jack... He is a man in turmoil, so much going on and so many secrets, so many differences and so many lies. Can they overcome it? Can they dare to be friends... Or more? When things take a different direction what will happen to clementine? Will she survive and will she get her man?

And now she has her sights set on her next target: a Van Gogh in the home of a rich family in the middle of nowhere. All she needs to do now is perform one little con and she's golden.

Maxwell "Jack" David the Third has a lot on his plate. His father is dying of cancer, a long-term employee has been selling company secrets, and he really needs to pull off a breakthrough in research and development in order to keep his company alive and the town employed. Also, he needs to win the tribute artist contest at the annual Elvis festival. But all of that becomes even more complicated with a beautiful strawberry blonde captures his attention....

When I first saw this book's description, my little teenage Ally Carter loving heart let out a cry of joy. After all, this sounds like an older Kat and Hale from her "Heist Society" series, and so my standards were high. Not only were they met, they were exceeded! Clementine and Jack are such wonderful, complicated characters with their own share of issues and tragic backstory, and who mesh together so well. And the plot. Oh the plot... So very very good. So juicy, you'll be dying for more with each turn of the page!

An excellent book you won't be able to put down!

When I read the premise for Don't Go Stealing My Heart, I was so excited. A gender-swapped Thomas Crown Affair? Ummm, yes PLEASE. That's very much my shit.

Unfortunately, this book ended up being a Very Messy Affair™ instead. (Yes, my puns are crap, I'll see myself out now.) The tone and pacing were all over the place, and the insta-love story—and its bizarre Christian Grey-esque sexually controlling billionaire subplot—only left me with endless whiplash. Many of the supporting characters were adorable, but they couldn't salvage some of the other issues here. Even after reading, I'm still scratching my head as to if this was a rom-com, a romantic drama, a family drama, a psychological thriller, or something else?

There was a lot of potential here, and several passages in the book were ultra-compelling and/or really funny. I just think there were so many elements to keep track of that the whole novel got bogged down in its ambitions, and as a result, everything suffered. I hate to do this, but I have to give it 1.5 stars.

Don't Go Stealing My Heart isn't the lightest (or realistic) read out there, with the heroine having lost both her parents early on and having to be put into foster care, and the hero being bullied in the past and having to deal with a sick father. I thought this was drag the story down, but I've always loved the 'two lost/lonely souls find each other' storyline. And that's what Clementine and Jack seemed like to me: lost and lonely. I loved the characters of Clementine and Jack, even though at times I wondered if there were actually people out there who were as *good* as they were (maybe I'm just a cynic, though). Both Clementine and Jack were fairly strong people, but they had such vulnerable sides too. I especially loved the fact that Jack could be confident and swoony, but he could also be so shy at times.
The romance between Clementine and Jack made me want to squeal and cry and jump up and down!! One of the reasons I liked it so much because of the fact that they were both so flustered when it came to the other. You could tell they were stupid for each other, and it was just adorable. But I think most of it came down to the fact that I was just rooting for these two people to be happy, and being together did that for them.
As I said before, throughout the book there were some things that I questioned because I thought they were unrealistic, and other things that I felt were unnecessary (c'mon, give Clementine a break), but overall I really enjoyed the book. I'll be checking out Kelly Siskind's other books, and I recommend this to people who want to read an adorable romance,

Holy uniqueness batman! You can't get more quirky than a romance novel between a female thief and an Elvis tribute artist. Don't Go Stealing My Heart is a sweet story featuring an unconventional cast of characters. Alternatively heartwarming, funny and downright wacky, the plot was a bit muddled and the ending felt rushed. I did enjoy the epilogue though. Overall I'd give this a 3.5 stars.

Wow! I really enjoyed this book. It was original and sexy. It took a while for me to get into it but once I did, I really liked Clementine and Jack!

An adorable story that really warms in these trying times. The main lead is a gorgeous dork, who matches well with the heroine despite being almost opposites in ways.

At times there is a lot of back story, which makes the story drag a little, and the heroine has quite the convenient history so we can sympathise, and ultimately have the main lead forgive her. That said, their chemistry is sizzling and their interaction is quite adorable and I was immediately hooked.

The last 25% goes a bit haywire, but it is related to the obstacle, rather than the actual romance, so it does not necessarily affect your view of this as a romance, but I did end up skimming as I got quite bored.

Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this.

“Duct tape?” He grinned, and the effect had her stumbling over non-existent stone.
Someone should follow him with a road sign: Beware of dimples, shortness of breath ahead.

Marco rolled his wrist absentmindedly. “Sounds like you don’t need my advice, then.”
“Guess I don’t.”
“Yeah, you’ll be way better off without a dragon-loving woman who isn’t offended by your recessive seduction gene and seems attracted to an Elvis impersonator-“
“Tribute artist.”
“I’m just saying, forgetting her seems like a swell idea. One you won’t regret at all.” Marco’s sarcasm was annoyingly insightful.

- They were nearing uncomfortable territory. “I’m not good enough for you.”
“Ah.” He brushed his lips against hers. “At twenty-eight, you, Clementine Abernathy, are taking a leap of faith. Staying the course is easier than admitting wrong or changing. I’d be proud to call you mine.”
There he was with that hypothetical persimmon again, teasing her out, offering her the roots she craved. “You should also know I read the newspaper backwards.”

Quirky & offbeat, with a bit of suspense — this book was so different than I anticipated. While it wasn’t my favorite, I think many readers will still enjoy the story and fall in love with the characters.

Clementine is a modern day Robin Hood with a painful past. She makes a brilliant con-woman and doesn’t get attached to anyone… until she falls for the mark of her latest heist: Jack. He’s supposed to be a conceited & heartless trust-fund snob, but she quickly learns he is anything but.

While I loved the quirkiness of the characters & was rooting for them the whole way, I also found the story hard to connect with and over the top at times. There were moments that felt real and raw, and others that just felt clunky. Ultimately, it was still an enjoyable story and if you’re up for an offbeat romance with a little suspense, you should give it a go.

Kelly Siskind is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors of romance. I fell in love with New Orleans Rush and then tore through Don't Go Stealing my Heart. Clementine and Jack were so well fleshed out with interesting and somewhat heartbreaking backstories. Their feelings bordered on instalove, but it worked well. Be warned it is a very steamy read, but the physical connection added to a solid emotional bond.

I'm already looking forward to BEAT MATCH in the fall.

sweet and fun, but also real
Clementine is a female robin Hood, stealing expensive artworks, to sell and help orphanages. Her current target is Van Gogh owned by Maxwell jack David's wealthy family, but everything about this heist is going to be different.

I really loved the main characters and easily felt connected with them. Clementine had a rough childhood, losing both her parents in a tragic way, then she had to be put into several foster homes. but I genuinely liked jack's character more, and I appreciated the fact that the story focused on realistic vulnerabilities in a guy like stuttering. But the whole chemistry between them felt a little rushed out to me, and a little bit Disney-like.
