I’ll keep this review brief, as basically the main character was impossible to like and made this book one that grated on my every nerve. I found myself skimming the content, as reading every word was unbearable.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Girl Friday Productions for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I will not be reading him again. I read til about 25% then I skimmed. I did not like this book. Sirius is an idiot! His attitude toward woman was horrible and he was egotistical. Just not for me. 2 stars

3.5⭐️
Wow this was longer then it should have been. The characters were just not the depth I would like to read, but at the same time not totally lacking. I’m sure where But this was just too long or just not enthralling enough to hold me for the length of the book.

This book is absolutely brilliant 😂

It's sassy, snarky, witty and full of one liners that had me audibly cackling to myself.

This was everything I hoped for and thoroughly enjoyed reading!

The Immortal Divorce Court starts slowly introducing the main character, Sirius Sinister, a young vampire assassin. Although very skilled as an assassin, he is naive and uneducated when his father sends him to the College of Immortals. On the way, however, he is sidetracked first by a young maiden, and then by a female vampire. Turns out Sirius is a handsome, randy, young vampire who easily falls for females. This will be a recurring occurrence for Sirius.

I liked how Sirius seemed innocent, was annoyed by how ignorant he was, but he is a good guy and develops good friendships. He just kept making poor or uninformed decisions that led to bad experiences. The story is full of vampires, shifters, fairies, demons, goblins, the boogeyman, a troll and a host of other characters. Other than the characters and the actual divorce court there didn't seem to be a lot of world building, it was more like Sirius was jumping from one adventure (or female) to the next one.

A quirky sense of humor and a cadre of interesting characters kept the book interesting.

I received an ARC of Immortal Divorce Court and this is my honest review.

Did I like this book?? Not so much...The main character, SInister, is not only dumb, but he has a very low opinion of women which turned me off from the start....I thought this book sounded like a fun read...I was wrong. Not going to lie, this book was not that good.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this book

Good world-building but too many fails

This could have been a very good book. The world-building is very good as is the action. The story is well-paced and was hard to put down. But there were some major flaws. The protagonist was too full of himself and was a very unsympathetic character, to the point where I didn’t care what happened to him. There was locker-room humor and needless double entendres. There was considerable misogyny, with the protagonist making stupid sexist remarks. Even in context of the times of the story, these were not needed. Most importantly, as I was reading, it seemed obvious that the author was writing about his own bitter experiences with divorce. It is one thing to be inspired by real-life events, but in fiction it should not be blatantly obvious. I then checked the about-the-author section and indeed, the book is a strong reflection of his personal experience. There is better fantasy out there.
Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley for review purposes.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really thought his sounded fun and I was eager to read it. However, I am sorry but I was not able to finish it. Did not finish at 42%. The story line in beyond ridiculous which could have been fun but was not Sirius Sinister is an immortal vampire assassin but he really does come off as dumb as a box of rocks. The story is all over the place and I made it through his disastrous first appearance in Immortal Divorce Court (where again he couldn't have been dumber, the situation couldn't have been more outlandish) and realized we were going to go through at least a couple more miserable relationships where Sirius doesn't think with his head at all. The tone toward women in general is pretty demeaning. I just couldn't make myself finish this one. There was a cool immortal demon dog though so points for that.

arc provided by the publisher and netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

This wasn’t what I was expecting. For some reason I thought this was a graphic novel. I still attempted to read it once I realized my mistake but the writing just isn’t for me and I won’t be finishing this one.
