There seems to be much more than meets the eye to all of the characters introduced so far.

So far so good. This is only a few chapters into the book and everything is still very veiled in mystery. There are several characters whose stories have yet to unfold completely. I'm completely hooked and can't wait to read the rest. This takes place in New Orleans and is hinting at something paranormal, there is definitely an immortal character but no one comes right out and says what they are yet. I'm thinking vampire, but we'll have to wait and see.

This is such a great book!. I was hooked from word one. Set in New Orleans, this tells the story of Celine Rousseau, a refuge from Paris. She lives in a convent with other girls. She catches the eye of Sébastien Saint Germain, of the La Cour des Lions, part of New Orleans underworld. When one of the girls from the convent is found dead in The lair La Cour des Lions, Celine has to decide if she trusts Sebastien. Soon, she learns there is more to fear in the dark and that vampires and werewolves may just be real. I cannot wait for the second book in this series!

The sneak peak was enough to convince me that this is a book I’d want to read, and I went to add it to my list - just to find its already out?! I plan to purchase this one immediately in order to read it in full. The characters were already vibrant and the atmosphere mysterious. I want to know the rest of the story!

Ahdieh’s “Beautiful” Is a fabulously fun young adult fantasy that takes place in the late 1800s in New Orleans. No better back ground for this rich and vibrant story than a city like New Orleans. Sincerely enjoyed the latest of Ahdieh’s YA work and can’t wait for the next one in the series. Beautiful!

I actually really enjoyed the setting of this book. It seems "old" and mysterious. I always enjoyed books set in New Orleans.

I'm the beginning I was getting Twilight vibes but this book is quite different.

Great writing style, it clicked with me right away with the first page. I liked the setting very much and I can vividly imagine details about the characters introduced. Love the Shakespear mentions as I am huge fan so this was also a really nice part of the story. Very captivating start!

I find the title and the few pages already very predictable. I know what/who the killer is but I would still read this. I mean I partially hope for this kind of story when I looked at the book cover. So I would definitely continue reading if I was provided with the full book!

This sounds truly incredible. The sneak peek I got was not enough to quench my thirst for this story. I wish I could read the whole things right now.

This is quite the dive into a new world. I love the setting and how the author describes the world. It has things you would recognize with just a bit of magic mixed in. I cannot wait to see where this goes next.

The Beautiful has all the makings of a great book. The atmosphere of New Orleans definitely lends itself to the eerie and mysterious setting. The characters have me quite intrigued as well. Celine is hiding something big and the guilt she is carrying for it is weighing her down. I think she's trying to not stand out, but the people and/or "creatures" dwelling in New Orleans will pull her into the midst of things whether she wants to be there or not. I can't wait to read more of this fabulous book. I've also noticed it's in audiobook as well and can't wait to hear the accents performed.

Let's just say, when I saw the author was Renee Ahdieh, I suspected this book had promise. She's a wonderful author. Having read the first bit of the book, I'm now convinced.

I am so in love with this book. The dark New Orleans setting, the possibly very dark characters. The writing is lush and hard to stop reading.
