Promise at Pebble Creek by author Lisa Jones Baker is the 6th and final book in the author’s Hope Chest of Dreams series. This book can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend the entire series. It is a delightful Amish story about faith, love, and trust with God in the center.
I enjoyed the author’s writing style and relatable characters. It was easy to read and moved at an even pace. The descriptions and conversations were authentic. I was immediately invested. This is the story of Amish woman Hannah Lapp and Englischer Marcus Jackson. Marcus and Hannah meet and sparks fly. However, Hannah and Marcus are from two different worlds..
Promise at Pebble Creek is a beautiful, heartwarming story. I highly recommend it. A copy was provided by NetGalley, but these are my honest words.

Promise at Pebble Creek by Lisa Jones Baker is the 6th novel in the Hope Chest of Dreams series. This book can be read as a standalone if you are new to the series. This is a sweet Amish story about faith, love, and trusting God. I thought the story contained good writing with friendly characters. The book was easy to read, and it moved along at a good pace. I liked Hannah Lapp who loved to read adventure stories and began writing one. Marcus Jackson is a kind man who recently found Christ. He wants a fresh start that takes him away from his troublesome brothers. I like that Marcus is trying to follow his heart as directed by his mother before her passing. Marcus and Hannah have an instant connection. Unfortunately, Hannah is Amish and Marcus, while a Christian, is an Englischer. There are only three solutions to this problem. What path does God have planned for Marcus and Hannah? Someone robbed the local bakery, and it has the community up in arms. Marcus is a suspect as the newcomer to the area. Hannah knows that he would not commit the crime, but how does she prove it? Promise at Pebble Creek is a sweet, heartwarming story. Faith and relying on God were two of the big elements in this tale. We can plan all we want, but we do not know that is the path God has planned for us. We need to pray and rely on Him. I liked that Hannah and Marcus had deep faith. They both prayed to God for guidance and help. Hannah’s shades of blue quilt sounded beautiful. The author gave us vivid descriptions of it. It was nice to return to Pebble Creek with its lovely vista. It is a special place that has touched many couples in the area. It was great the way Hannah’s brother, Ben supported Marcus. Ben became a good friend to Marcus and helped him on his faith journey. I loved the epilogue that nicely wrapped up the book. I am sorry that this is the end of the series. I like how Sam’s hope chests played a part in each tale including this one. Each hope chest is a work of art. Promise at Pebble Creek is a touching Amish tale with an alarming robbery, a cherished hope chest, a kindhearted newcomer, an exquisite quilt, an imaginative jelly maker, and firm faith.

The final book in Lisa Jones Baker's Hope Chest series brings us the story of Hannah and Marcus. We are reminded that despite someone's past, forgiveness is the right choice. A beautiful read and I recommend it to anyone who loves Amish Fiction.

Promise at Pebble Creek, the sixth installment from Lisa Jones Baker's series, Hope Chest of Dreams was a great book. It is my favorite of the series I have read. Five stars.

This is another sweet story set in the Amish community of Pebble Creek. Hannah is a young Amish woman who loves her family, friends, and her shop named “Amish Edibles”. She also enjoys reading adventure stories and sometimes longs to experience an “adventure” herself. As Englischer Marcus Jackson comes into her store to shop, they develop a close friendship. Their friendship grows deeper over time, and they begin to wonder if they can have a romantic relationship. One of them will need to make a major life change in order for this happen, and both have to consider the high cost of pursuing their dreams.

Hannah is a truly delightful character whose caring personality and firm faith guide much of what takes place in this story. I admired Marcus’ desire to grow in his faith and his search to find God’s will for his life. I enjoyed this heart-touching book, and plan to read the books that I’ve missed in this series.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

5 Stars: 5/5 Star Rating:
This is one exciting piece of Amish fiction! It is one you won't want to miss reading! Marcus and Hannah's story is full of surprises, some good and some definitely not so good. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles they face and prove Marcus's innocence ? He is Englisch and she is Amish--how can they ever be together? It is forbidden for an Amish to marry an Englischer or they will be shunned. Hannah would not desire that, surely. Marcus would never give up his Englisch life, would he?
This made for a wonderful way to spend my hours during the current time of social distancing. If you're hungry for some new reading material, I suggest this one!
I received a digital ARC of this book from netgalley and Zebra Books. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was book 6 and the last in the Hope Chest of Dreams series. This Amish story is about Hannah Lapp who loves adventure.

Hannah runs a bakery called Amish Edibles. There she meets Marcus Jackson, an Englischer. They become friends, but Marcus has some secrets that he's dealing with.. He moved to Amish country from Chicago. Hannah's brother Ben also becomes friends with Marcus and helps him work through what led him to their community.

Hannah and Marcus fall in love but have a lot to overcome with one being Amish and one and outsider. This story is beautifully written as these two find ways to make their relationship work.

Ripe for adventure, Amish country girl, Hannah Lapp, finds it in both the stories she reads and those she secretly writes. When ex-city boy, Marcus Jackson, comes to town, Hannah cannot help but see adventure. Why would a mild mannered city boy be in Pebble Creek? Hannah longs to find out more about Marcus and his past life? Marcus cannot understand why he is drawn to Hannah. Will things go bad when suspicion of robbery is placed on Marcus? Or will Hannah and Marcus be able to prove his innocence? This is a fun and sweet read. I love how bubbly Hannah's personality shines in the story. If you are looking for a quick but wonderful read, pick this up. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

The final book in the Hope Chest series brings us the story of Hannah and Marcus. The story teaches us that no matter what forgiveness is better and not to judge someone over their past. You will not be disappointed in this last book. I received this book for free and I am under no obligation to leave a positive review. My review is my own .

Thanks goes to the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary copy of Promise at Pebble Creek by Lisa Jones Baker for purposes of reading and reviewing prior to publication. An Amish fiction romance. My opinions are not influenced by anyone.

Promise at Pebble Creek is well written with endearing characters and a unique plot. The pacing is excellent and kept me engaged from the first page to the last. There is novel has an excellent sense of the Amish life. A beautiful story of strong Christian values and decisions that must be made when one accepts the Lord.

Hannah Lapp’s character is easy to love. Her sweet nature and dedication to her beliefs is heartwarming. She is so attracted to the new young Enlischer that has arrived in their small community to work for her brother. She’s a bit different from the typical Amish heroine. She loves reading adventure books, and she even starts writing her own adventure story. It’s sweet and innocent.

Marcus Jackson is a fantastic hero. He’s recently found the Lord and has made significant changes in his life. That why he came to Pebble Creek from Chicago. He’s searching for answers that will give him a better understanding of God. He is attracted to Hannah and her family, but he isn’t sure he can become Amish.

The romance between Hannah and Marcus is sweet and stems from their blossoming friendship. I enjoyed the way the romance builds and how both characters do a lot of soul searching. For their love to last one will have to choose a different way of life.

If you enjoy Amish fiction with engaging characters and a plot that will tug at your heart, then you will love Promise at Pebble Creek as much as I. This the first book I’ve read by Ms. Baker, but it will not be the last. Happy reading!

Promise at Pebble Creek is the sixth and unfortunately final book in the Hope Chest of Dreams series. I have read every book in this exciting series and I would recommend you to do so as well to get the full enjoyment from the series and get the updates on the characters but the books can be read as stand alones as well.
This book has been a warm welcome diversion I've enjoyed getting lost in the past several days as I've once again been transported back to wonderful Pebble Creek.
I very much enjoyed reading about the romance between Amish woman, Hannah Lapp and Englisher newcomer Marcus who fled Chicago before his brothers’ life of crime ruined his future.
He's drawn by Hannah's bubbly and outgoing personality but will the community accept this non Amish newcomer into their midst when suspicion strongly falls on his shoulders for recently occurring robberies?
I am sorry to see this enjoyable series come to an end but look forward to the next series the author will release.

Hannah Lapp is working in the shop when Marcus Jackson comes q. She is intrigued by this young man who seems to be kind and nice,a Christian but not of the Amish faith. He continues to come in almost every day and finds out Hannah 's secret of reading and writing adventure stories. He rents a house from her brother and also works with him. They become close friends , and the family likes him but is afraid Hannah loves him. Will she leave the faith or will he become Amish ? The Story takes you through second guessing on both Hannah and Marcus sides. A quick read and heartwarming story.

Here is a nice story of Hannah, an Amish maedal, and Marcus, an English man, who left his brothers, in Chicago, because of their bad decisions. BUT, will his status of an Englisher and outsider, cause him to become the suspect of the robbery, in the local bakery. Rumors will fly and Hannah will defend him. Read this novel and watch the relationship of Hannah and Marcus develop, with the highs and lows of love outside the community. It was difficult to get going into this story, but keep going and you will be glad you did

Lisa Jones Baker writes Amish fiction. She has a light hand with the plots she writes and they are readable, even for young adult readers.

Her newest in the Hope Chest Series is Promise at Pebble Creek. There isn't much to the plot, it is an easy reader, and a quick reader.

Hannah Lapp loves reading adventure novels and really wants some extra adventure to come into her life. Marcus Jackson is a new hire of her brother in his contracting firm. Marcus is a Christian, but he's not Amish. Even though they feel something between them, it's still an impossible relationship because of the differences in their religion.

There is a man breaking into Amish businesses, starting around the same time as Marcus came to town. Even though he didn't do the burglaries, he is still suspected. When he decides he wants to join the Amish church, he has a lot to overcome to be fully accepted.

It's a quick read and enjoyable too. There just isn't much meat on these bones. Three Stars. I know Lisa writes good Amish fiction, but this doesn't fit her usual quality.

Kensington Books and NetGalley.com provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are my own.

An easy read but I didn’t like the strict nature of her district - the lack of physical touch bothered me. It’s a love story and for me, I feel like the main character left something to be desired. They can’t even hold hands? I did like the storyline but had expected a little more of a romantic feel.
