Hello

Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title. While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.

Thanks,
Laura

Heather Graham writes mysteries that read quickly for me as I just can't wait to get to the ending - and then am sad I did.

A state's witness goes to a town in New England thinking she will be safe. But the killer is released and her life is in danger. A policeman is assigned to keep her safe and they are like oil and water.

An exciting quick paced book

Thank you for the chance to read and review this book. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware this was a reissue of an older book.

I have loved all of the other Heather Graham books I have read but I could not get into this one. I am not sure why. I did skim here and there and read the end but it just didn't hold my attention. As I did not read every word and was not drawn into the story I am opting not to write a review to post to vendor sites and on my blog. Thank you for the opportunity to read though. (DNF)

Hi, I lost the eARC of this book so I won't be able to review this book. I hope you understand. I really wanted to read it but unfortunately my phone got formatted and I lost the copy.

I love a good romantic suspense, and when I see Graham's name I always expect to be highly entertained. While this wasn't my very favorite of this author's stories, I did really watching the witness/ officer-of-the-law love story.

Thank you so much for the copy of Witness to Death. I tried to pick this one up a few times, but I was not able to connect with the story line and characters. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. Thank you again for the opportunity to read this one.

I will not be sharing my thoughts/reviews outside of Netgalley in a review

This book was published in 1985 under the title An Angel's Share.

Lorna Doria is placed under witness protection after she witnesses a murder and can identify the killer. New York City undercover cop, Andrew Trudeau, is to be her protection officer until the killer goes to trial.

However, the killer is set free on bond.

And the attempts to silence Lorna begin.

There's an instant attraction between the two, which is a real no-no in Andrew's performance of his job. But Lorna has no choice but to allow Andrew to be her bodyguard 24/7.

I was a bit disappointed in that this book is not a new book, but a re-issued one from 1983. The story itself is more romance than suspense. But things have really changed in the last almost 40 years. This just has a feel of being too outdated to make it a really good read.

Many thanks to the author / Kensington Books / Zebra Romance/ Netgalley for the digital copy of this romantic suspense. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Lorna is on the witness protection watch with her protector Andrew who by all accounts was very, very dangerous to her heart.

Andrew lives dangerously with his job on the police force. He faced fear every day but nothing scared him more than Lorna.

You take two people that are confident in who they are until they meet their match. Can they trust their emotions and lose their need for control. It takes a Witness to Death to bring these two that they are better together than apart. It is the fun of seeing it unfold.

Sometimes reads like this are not emotional spent but just a nice way to escape!

A Special thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest revie

This is a re-release of a book originally published in 1985 (with a name change)...and it shows. The storyline and characters were okay but the technology and other things were not updated at all. I don't mind reissues, however, I believe the publisher needs to note that in the description.

All in all, it's still a book by Heather Graham and I'm a huge fan so....3 1/2 stars that I'll round up to 4.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.

Lorna, she ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Andrew is the detective on the investigation. It’s his job to protect his witness. What happens when the investigation becomes something more. Oh and George helps to! LoL

I read and reviewed this advanced complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley

For the first time It was has hard for me to finish MS Graham's book.
I don't know why, but I am ether getting older too fast, or this story was just not for me.
I finished the book, but it was just OK.

With thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my ARC.

Some of the other reviewers have stated this title is a reprint, I don’t know one way or the other, but it would explain some aspects of the story, like the male protagonist,; Andrew smoking, and the female protagonist; Lorna deciding that she needed to change her attitude because he wouldn’t.

I’ve dithered over this review, as I’m a Heather Graham fan and love her Krewe of Hunters and other paranormal titles, so it was difficult to admit that I didn’t love this story, in fact, while it’s ok, that’s it. I’m not going to lay awake revisiting the plot and wasn’t kept awake til the wee small hours desperate to finish the story and assure myself of the main characters’ health and happiness.

However, if you’re: a) a Heather Graham fan, or, b) a romantic mystery fan, you may enjoy the story and rate it at 4 or 5 stars.

It kills me to say this but I really just didn’t enjoy this book. I kept thinking it was as if someone was writing under Graham’s name and then I figured it out. This is a reprint from 1985. That is over 3 decades to mature in her writings. And oh she has.

I never really felt the chemistry between Andrew and Lorna. The story idea was fine. Lorna is in protective custody with a man that is hard to resist while Andrew is trying to do his job to protect Lorna but what he wants is her in his arms. The concept is great and I would almost bet if Graham went back and wrote it now fans would love it.

I think I will just stick to the original novels coming out now because Graham has become one of the best over these last 35 years.

Disclaimer:
I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine

I always enjoy Heather Graham's books. This is one of her older ones reissued, I had read this before some years ago but enjoyed re-reading

Its clearly one of her earlier books as her style has developed over time and this is more simplistic than later books

When I find an author I like, as in this case, I do go back and read as many as I can and there are some I enjoy more than others but if you enjoy this author its not necessarily a bad thing

At times this book was difficult to get into, but definitely glad I stuck with it. Full of suspense, crime, and mystery. Definitely worth a read.

Heather Graham as always been a author I could go to when I need a mix of mystery, romance and book that I can't put down.

This book I put down a lot. It was over sappy compared to the author other books I have read. It lacks the action and mystery that I have enjoyed from the author in the past. Readers might struggling to be able to connect with the different characters that is the key to Heather Graham books she is able to get readers to connect with the different characters that will have readers needing more.

This time it felt disconnected, lack a flow and focus in the story.

I believe this book a is older one of her books but I am not sure.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for a copy of Heather Graham Witness to Death

When I requested this book, I didn't realize it was a re-release. The story was decent, but I didn't like the main character at all. I will read more recent books from this author, though!

I love Heather Graham's books, but this one I just was not very fond of. The plot was good enough, Lorna witnessed a murder and now that killer wants her gone so she can't testify. Andrew Trudeau is the cop on the case and he is responsible for her protection. One more character was added into the protection detail, George the German Shepherd Dog cop.

My issue with the book was the characters. Lorna was hard for me to like, she didn't want protection, didn't want to interrupt her fabulous lifestyle, and when George came into the action, she complained about drool and hair. Seriously! But it was Andrew that I had the biggest problem with. I really wanted to cheer for the good looking, green eyed cop who would do anything to keep Lorna safe, but I will only remember him as The Smoker. Every scene, he was taking out a cigarette, lighting up a cigarette, looking for an ashtray, and when the romance starts, Lorna is ready and willing with a lighter so he can smoke again. I know this is a re-release of a previously written book, but I can't recommend it because it's too dated. Finally as a dog lover, I can't believe that George is "forgotten" in the hotel room when Lorna insisted that he couldn't come to her business venture. Eventually he is remembered and his trainer has to travel to pick him up. Thankfully George gets some appreciation at the end, but for me it was too little, too late.
