Great book when combined with other books in the series, especially the first book. A little sparse on it's own. These are for children younger than my daughter, so I couldn't test it out on her but I found it cute and the illustrations are good.

This was a hilarious book! We loved looking at all the funny illustrations and the story we could create, round that, as well as the story it told. Ada was giggling away, whilst we read this book!

Extremely cute illustrations to a book teaching words for family members. A cute twist to a word book , and this I enjoyed immensely.

Simple fun book that had my whole family laughing. Love to have books like this. Excited to read it to my students next year.

The Sasquatch and the Lumberjack: Family' with words and illustrations by Crix Sheridan is almost a totally wordless book full of busy pictures to use as possible story prompts for early readers. The illustrations are amazing! I think it is one that I could use to really focus on description and inferencing in my own classroom.

Not exactly a story. There isn't a plot, nor even whole sentences. The real appeal is in the illustrations. There are lots of crazy details. Fun to look through.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This book is a book told in pictures with just one word on each page of each family member (Ma, Pa, Sister etc). The book shows the family and the sasquatch through the year enjoying different reasons and events together as a family.
I enjoyed the pictures in this book as the art work is fantastic. I just wish it would have had more words to it.

The Sasquatch and the Lumberjack: Family by Crix Sheridan is a companion book to Crix Sheridan's The Sasquatch and the Lumberjack. The story continues to grow the relationship between these endearing characters as we meet their big and colorful families as they embark on another adventure! Follow along on their Pacific Northwest adventures as the two friends and their two families merge their growing friendship to become one big and happy family.

The Sasquatch and the Lumberjack: Family has very little text, just the family names for the character that is the focus of the page, such as ma, pa, and so on. The colors and illustrations are bright and fun, with lots to look at on each page. While I think the intent on the lack of text was to appeal to a younger, or easily bored, crowd and to do some basic vocabulary building, I think it slightly missed the mark. I liked the artwork and think many young readers will enjoy flipping through the pages and creating their own details about the characters and adventures. I was a little disappointed since the art on the cover and promise of adventure had me excited to read.

The Sasquatch and the Lumberjack Family was a very simple tale of what a family can look like and who can play a part. Very basic. Best for very young readers.

The two friends from The Sasquatch and the Lumberjack are on more adventures together. This time they go on adventures with various family members of one or the other of the friends.

There’s just one word per page spread in this book, usually the word for the title of the relation featured (ex. Ma, Gramps, Uncle, etc). So it is almost a wordless book. But the illustrations speak volumes. They are fantastic. I had a clue going in that they would be since the first book’s illustrations are amazing. These didn’t disappoint. They are colorful, exciting, and packed full of hilarious little details. The adventures these two friends go on with various family members are both relatable in that they depict things like going fishing or climbing trees, but these characters take things to rather extreme and wildly entertaining ends. This book would be a great story starter as the illustrations are just begging for someone to expound on the wild adventures had by one and all. Highly recommended to those who love wild family adventures, stunning illustrations, good friends, and friendly sasquatch.

I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

'The Sasquatch and the Lumberjack: Family' with words and illustrations by Crix Sheridan is a word book full of busy pictures to use as possible story prompts.

Each double page has a really fun picture and a word like friends or pa or grammie. The pictures are action packed and make me want to know more about what is happening in them.

The problem is that without the context of the other book by this author, I feel a bit lost as a reader. Also, the words may not be what you'd teach a toddler (ma, pa, grammie, gramps, etc.). The pictures are sure fun, though.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Sasquatch Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

This is an interesting book. Not many words, almost could be considered a wordless picture book. It is definitely interesting to look at . You could use it to write a story about each page. As an educator...not overly impressed.

Fairly simple book but the artwork is very vibrant and wonderfully detailed. Young children enjoy coming up with their own stories for picture books and I think this book will give them plenty to discuss.

This book has one word per page, a family member. It doesn’t have a plot or theme. It might be nice to use in the classroom for inferencing what is going on. But, it’s definitely not anything extraordinary.

Thanks to Sasquatch Books and NetGalley for this ARC in return for an honest review. Honestly, this book makes me shake my head in wonderment. A first word book, words that are family members (Ma, Pa, etc.). There is no story and the illustrations are grotesque. Huge disappointment and a book I would never share with a child.

First, I love the illustrations in this book. They are so dynamic and engaging. There is a lot to look at on each page. I just wish there was a story! I understand spare text, and creating your own stories as you look at the book. The problem though, as I see it, is that this book feels like an introduction. On each page, you are introduced to another character in the story. There is not much in the way of story development. Yes, I see how they all come together at the end, and I like that, but I really had a sense of - "ok now I am ready for the story!" You turn the page though, and it's over.

I guess it speaks well to the power of the illustrations that I want so much more! I do hope there will be more!

Review to come late april on blog/goodreads.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

This book just looked so much fun and I love a book about sasquatches (is that the right word?). My request was granted quite soon after I requested it (see, publishers if they can do it anyone can, no need to wait months) and I decided to just sneak a peek at a few pages... instead I ended up reading the whole book, which turned out to be quite short and very engaging.

It also helped that there were almost no words in the book, just names of the family. Yep, this book consists of gorgeous and fun illustrations featuring the families of our sasquatch and the lumberjack. I loved seeing all the family members and I had even more fun seeing them all have such a great time together. Often lumberjacks and sasquatches aren't happy with each other, but it seems in this one they are one big family. Each one accepting the other.

As I said, I just loved the art style, it was fun and playful. I loved all the colours that were used.

All in all, I now definitely need the other book as well as I am curious how they got to be such a family. How did this all start out? I would also recommend this book to all.
