During a covert operation, Rudy “Sill” Sillenbrook is fatally wounded. Reluctantly, his team follows orders and leaves him to his fate. What they don’t know is that at a top secret facility in the western U.S., a project is underway to create the first “super-soldier” and Sillenbrook will be there first subject. If successful, Sillenbrook will be just the first of many with enhanced senses and physical abilities. When he manages to escape the base against all odds, a nationwide search is launched. Sill is in a race for his life from a government who wants to keep his existence a secret.

Operation Red Sequoia by Chris Worthington is an entertaining and fast-paced thriller. This book appears to be Worthington’s first attempt at a thriller and by most measures it is a successful one. If you are looking for a quick read with well-developed characters, you should consider Operation Red Sequoia. I would give this book 4/5 stars.

A familiar tale of an injured soldier rebuilt by the government. Rudy has incredible new abilities but the government agency is only interested in meeting project schedules and cost, not the revolutionary capabilities Rudy has. Lots of moving parts with government agency management bumbling it's way along.
In the end, I found the whole tale made me laugh frequently at the turn of events. I enjoyed this book.
