I had a really difficult time getting into this, I'm not sure why but it wasn't quite my cup of tea.

While this book caught my attention by the synopsis, after reading through the first few chapters, I actually got bored. The thrilling aspect of the book was there, but they were few and far between for my liking and the author spent way to long to build up the back ground of the characters. Let alone the fact that I couldnt understand the main characters issues and why he became a priest in training (SPOILER).

Back to the thriller aspect, the author allowed the parts I read to be gory and descriptive, while always explaining themselves in the next chapter. I did enjoy this and this would have been the only part of the book that would have kept me reading. I DNF'd this book at 18% (chapter 8).

Modeling Industry Hides Dark Secrets.....
Modeling industry hides dark secrets when a show uncovers gruesome deeds. The premise is certainly intriguing. A dark and disturbing mystery with a compelling narrative, a colourful cast and a bizarre and bothersome storyline full of turbulent twists.

Unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me, great ideas but just a little erratic and confusing. I would definitely try other reads from this author

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Another disappointment this year that put me in a major reading slump. There were a lot of moments that I thought were unique and intrigued me to read more. However, the author consistently took everything too far. If something was weird or sexual it immediately went to vulgar. This book felt like many ideas shoved into a single novel.

Overall, I would not recommend it to anyone.

I was so excited to read this one based on the cover and synopsis - I love stories set in the fashion world. Unfortunately this one just didn’t hit the mark for me. It was wayyy too long and I was bored of its slow pace quickly.

Based on the synopsis, my initial excitement for this novel was high. It is very unique in premise. Unfortunately, once I jumped into the pages it didn’t work for me. The slow pace failed to hold my attention.

I will not be sharing my opinions in a full review outside of NetGalley.

This novel being by a debut author really intrigued me. I feel like they always get overlooked when there’s tons of books being released every year. The premise of this one really grabbed me. I knew it would be horror and I felt even a little satirical. I was not anticipating the sheer amount of bad that this book was. It wasn’t horror, it was just gore about starving humans. There was no depth at all to this one. And what there was of the story was just bad. It was bad writing, bad characters, bad premise. Only redeeming thing about novel was the cover.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Size Zero has been on my mind ever since I got accepted to dive into this little thriller. Then I got excited after reading the synopsis and hoped it would be amazing. Honestly, it started off on a pretty good start. Unlike Lady Gaga's meat dress, we see a model wearing the skin of a human corpse down a runway.

Beyond cringe-worthy and gross, I was intrigued in this little mystery now. Unfortunately, for me, this went down hill so freaking quickly. Instead of this book being a murder mystery, it was about sex trafficking. Which don't get me wrong.. that is still beyond interesting and I was still invested (sort of). I was just disappointed because the beginning gave me murder vibes and such!

It also doesn't help that I have horrible detective skills and will continue to keep my day job.

This book also had some twist and turns throughout it. I will even admit that I was confused around some stuff that happened but it was bound to happen. It also didn't help that I wasn't connecting with anyone in this book either. I tried.. oh lord, I tried. Heck, I even brought in some wine to help - it didn't.

In the end, it was an okay book and that's that.

This was definitely a strange book!! Based on the description of the plot, I knew going in this would be an unusual thriller - different than my other thriller books. I enjoyed the pace, and the unusual plot itself, but I think it could have been executed a bit differently!

The premise of this book sounded so great and the cover was eye catching so I thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately, this book was not for me. It started off great but the plot got wordy and bogged down and harder and harder to follow.

Thank you NetGalley, Abigail Mangus and Visage Media, LLC. for this edition and hearing my honest review. Looking forward to reading more with you

Thank you to Netgalley for the free ebook in exchange for an honest review!

This book started out well and super interesting, then quickly dived into weird territory and not in a good way. The plot was hard to follow, and a lot of things were overly wordy. I appreciate the time and effort that was put to bring this book into the world, but it just wasn’t for me.

A brilliantly satirical edgy read that was a delight to read. It was very dark in places but this was to be expected, will definitely be looking out for more from this author

Book Review!!
Size Zero by Abigail Mangin
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Every now and then, you will find yourself lucky enough to stumble across a title like Size Zero. It may take years, but you find that one book that is everything you could’ve dreamed of having, all wrapped up in a perfect little paperback. I cannot stress to you enough how perfect of a work of art this is.

Not only is the story line, characters, the writing, legitimately everything amazing, this pushes boundaries. Boundaries that people don’t even want to touch with a ten foot pole. I would find myself saying, “Oh my god. She went there.” I can’t tell you how many times those words left my mouth. But I loved every delicious second of it. I was kept on my toes, I had no idea what to even expect.. This is a work of art. The descriptions made me feel like I was right there in this crazy world of modeling. I never would have been able to dream something like this up, but now that I’ve read it? I can most definitely see it happening.

This is the nitty gritty; some things aren’t pretty. (TW: rape, sex trafficking, prostitution, etc.) But those aspects of this novel are what truly made it earth shatteringly amazing. On the flip side, we have models being posed in windows for purchase, a model wearing a coat made from the skin of a dead body.. Come on. That’s badass. I loved that Mangin wasn’t afraid to delve into these deep, dark aspects of the human psyche. Not only do you have to be brave, you have to be able to make it out on the other side with your sanity intact.

This is for sure a novel that will stay with me, that I will recommend to everyone, a five star read. Those are hard to come by, and I appreciate every single one.

Thank you to much to netgalley, the publisher and the author for this ARC. But unfortunately this book did not do it for me and it was my second DNF of the year. I REALLY hate not finishing books like more than anything but this one was quite all over the place. It had multiple view points (which I love) but I could never tell who was talking or what was really going on. It bounced back and forth between past and present (again I love this) but there was no real indicator which we were in. And it was sometimes hard to figure it out. And the monk thing really confused me. Sometimes the way the narrator spoke about other people I couldn't tell which context it was in. Were they there or was this person talking about someone. There were many unusual things going on in this book too that I found a bit cringey and just plain hard to read (because it was so strange).

I loved the concept of this book though! Murder and high fashion could be so interesting because it seems like some people would do anything to become famous in some way. Sell their soul so to speak. It could have really been a winner if some different elements were flipped around. I'd have to give it 2⭐

What a roller coaster ride! A former boyfriend is accused of murdering his girlfriend, a model. It appears that human skin has been used to make a coat, and the boyfriend, now a monk, is having confront his dark childhood. Although this is not a book I would choose for myself, exploring the people involved in the fashion industry and how creepy it could be. I had no idea where this book was going, and that is what kept me reading.

Synopsis: Young handsome Heir of a Multimillion-Dollar Fashion Empire, Cecil was accused of a murder of his childhood love Annabelle Leigh, daughter of his mother’s chauffeur. The burden of being wrongly accused pushed Cecil to the edge of becoming a monk and living in a Monastery from
past 6yrs.
Just when he thought everything is left behind, a blood smeared invite to New York’s biggest Fashion Collection by Visage Media run by his Godmother Tazia Perdonna, is sent to him along with a human dead hand wearing a charm bracelet that once belonged to Annabelle.

Ava Germaine's appearance on a mirrored runway at New York Fashion Week wearing a dead human skin coat stirred the fashion world and media questioning whether Annabelle Leigh is still alive??

The story starts with the murder mystery of one but ends with 3 murders being solved whilst Cecil and Ava become determined to find out who is behind the absurdly dark and cruel reality of modelling world.

Strong Points:
• Story is smartly crafted to keep the reader’s interest all along.
• Each character is well written and plays a crucial role to keep up the mystery intact.
• Frequent plots and twist with new information lead to levelling up reader’s interest.

Conclusion: This is how a mystery novel should be like, totally attention grabbing with the right amount of other emotions like shock, romance, drama and fear. This book is just part 1 in Visage Series and after reading it I am eagerly waiting for Book 2, meaning this book held me wanting more in the end. The story is psychologically shaking bringing out the reality unknown to the opposite side of the world from glamorous model world.
The story is insightful and interesting with vulnerability of each character kept afloat from time to time.
The book ends with feeling kinda -Haww !! What Will Happen Next?!

Thank you #netgalley for #arc

Variety of dresses combined with technology have come on the runway. Even though the model is standing still you'll be able to see the dress floating. LeClaire fashion brand is touching sky through its achievement but no one have any idea what goes on the backstage, until one day a model with real human's skin coat lands on the runway.

Through DNA reports the body is identified as Annabella Leigh, a teenager who disappeared a decade ago from in front of LeClaire Mansion & his best friend Cecil LeClaire was accused of the incident. And the model is an almost retired model Ava Germaine who've almost no idea how that coat came over her.

Cecil who went to become a monk away from the cameras who only sees him as a criminal now have to return back to his high fame life with all pain in his life endured in it. But this he's going to make sure to clear his name, solve all suspicions & find the truth of his childhood bff.

That fashion brand is currently run by Margaux LeClaire his mother who always failed herself for being a good mother instead probably she is one of the most monstrous person Cecil knows as probably she'd failed in her humanity too.

Cecil with the help of Ava Germaine try to find the reality while discovering the back of this high fame industries which not only sell fashion but even humans & their lives & other people who buy/bid on them mercilessly.

Being honest the book got my atrention due to its cover.Story, plots & character development was good but I don't know why I felt boring many times, maybe due to lack of knowledge regarding that profession or it was little stretched.
