This is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by Opal Carew. Anything with a mild or full on pornagraphic content always catches my attention. However , I was slightly disappointed due to the often lack of descriptions and at times unrealistic content - (after all; any women that’s had anal sex knows that it is quiet painful for the first few minute unless your man is on the smaller size , so the fact that Quinn slipped right in didn’t work for me). The characters I loved and I found endearing however; the story line could have been developed a little bit more especially and the ending.
All in all a bit of fun and lite reading when the mood strikes ;)

Stroke of Luck has it all! A great storyline, twists and turns, humor, off-the-charts chemistry, heartbreak, second chances, plenty of feels, drama, oh, and plenty of hot and engaging scenes.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Received as an ARC from netgalley for an honest review and opinion. Must say was a great read, but for mature audiences only! April is in Las Vegas for her wedding day and right before her wedding she finds her fiance with another woman. Just as she is being kicked outed of her suite at the hotel she runs in to her ex boyfriend from college. Broke, broken hearted and nowhere to go he proposes an arrangement between him and his business partner.

I received a free copy of Stroke of Luck by Opal Carew in exchange for an honest review. Once again, Carew knocked it out of the park with er unique writing style and great stories. What I love most about Carew's stories is the character development and plot. I've read many menage stories and so many authors lack a believable story or a natural development of relationships. Carew does both very well and Stroke of Luck was no different. Once I started reading, I never book this book down.

I felt so connected to Rianna. This poor girl was abandoned at the hospital by her mother at birth, and bounced from one foster care situation to another. All Riana wanted was to feel accepted and loved, and she thought that she found that with her fiance. However, the day before her wedding she saw her fiance screwing some bimbo. Rianna did the right thing by calling off the wedding, but her ex fiance just couldn't let it go, and stuck her with all of the wedding expenses, took her extravagant ring, and basically everything in her suitcases, and closed her credit card, leaving her stranded in Las Vegas with just the dress on her back.

She ran into her college boyfriend and his partner at the hotel, and they were there to save the day. Even in such dire circumstances, Rianna always tried to do the right thing. Most people given her circumstances wouldn't hesitate to retaliate or become bitter. Not Rianna. She didn't want any handouts from Quinn or his business partner Austin. So, she made a deal. What a deal it was.

Anyway, this was just another great book, and I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family, along with all of Carew's other book.

This book is hot, steamy and full of great characters. I do wish we got more details at the end with what the ex fiancé was up to trying to swindle her and then coming back in and offering her this huge sum of money. The chemistry between the three of them is off the charts hot! The fun situations these three find themselves in is such riot of a good time to read about. The wedding and how she only remembered parts of it then all the sudden she remembers the prenup and they story really gets good! Austin is such a straight to the point, tell it like it is kinda guy, I love his character so much!

This is an erotic MFM novel about a second chance love. It kept my attention and the plot was okay. Thank you to netgalley for the arc.

I enjoyed the plot of this story very much. It's almost like an erotic second chance romance. Adored the ending!!....but some words, like passage and cockhead, were overused and made me roll my eyes a little. However. I still enjoyed the story.
Classic Opal Carew.
Happy reading!

This book was so hot! And definitely romantic. The emotional turmoil each character felt was clear throughout the book. And omg the things that poor woman experienced at the hands of her ex! Good thing she had four comforting hands to help make her feel all better!

April is jilted before her wedding when she catches her fiance with another woman on the eve of her wedding. Defeated, sad and destituted she is left with the bill for the whole affair and stripped of all her worldly possessions. While having an issue with the hotel in Vegas she meets an ex boyfriend Quinn. And his business partner Austin He agrees to help her, but he has unresolved anger and issues against April. However as the story unfolds and their journey begin, they both come to some clear realization about their past and what the future might be for the three of them. This is not a story for the faint of heart, their steamy sexy encounters will more than steam up your ereaders it will make you longing for something like this. Two imperfect men to make a woman happy, protected , safe and cherished. This is another great story by this author.

It's hard to believe that so much can change within 24 hours. Aprils head had to be spinning. Plus emotions all over the place.
Luck goes from horribly bad to wonderfully good in minutes it seems.
I loved, Stroke of Luck, so much. I will definitely be rereading it.

Kindle Copy for Review from Net Galley and St. Martin’s Press.

I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Dumped by her fiancé in Vegas with a huge hotel bed, she didn’t expect to find herself the next morning married not once but twice the next morning to her old boyfriend and his partner. Her former boyfriend still loves her and offers to pay the bill for a month in their company.

Typical situation ensues as she will fall for the both of them after the month is up. Why settle for one when you can have both?

Opal has the sexiness and steam amped up in this book. She keeps you wanting to see where the story goes and how the characters will interact.

The thing that most disturbs me is when a good premise, or at least an interesting premise, is followed by an endless series of sex scenes that cover an obvious lack of plot. Too bad because despite the number of people in bed, the reading was not at all enjoyable in the end...

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

I have read and enjoyed Opal Carew's books in the past. Stroke of Luck feels like it is missing something. I felt like I could and did predict what was going to happen in many parts of the book.

This book is probably a love it or hate it kind of a book. I found the storyline a bit odd, wasn't a fan of Quinn's and think poor Austin was a bit hard done by. Having said all that - it was a steamy read if you can get over the plot holes in the story. Will pass a few hours anyway.

Holy hotness. One long MFM sex scene, it seems.

This book is a second chance trope that is a flowing and entertaining read. It’s a familiar story with the Las Vegas setting but Carew manages to throw in many different twists that keeps the story flowing and compelling.

I love the characters, especially the guys. They are so sweet and caring, and boy, can they turn up the heat. Even Riana has a great personality in comparison. She’s not all about herself but is actually quite humble and it works well in this situation.

Carew sucks you in with fun, humor, and deep touching, sexy romance that is anything but boring and pushes the boundaries that ramps up the heat throughout the book. Then she throws in a big, loop with a ending that’s just perfect. Sigh.

For a change of pace and that erotic, spicy romance you know you need, Stroke of Luck by Opal Carew is a fiery choice that won’t disappoint!

Before i get into this review, I want to thank the folks at Netgalley and St Martin’s Press for getting me this ARC. I’ve read several Opal Carew stories in the past and it was nice to get into a new one, even if it was a stand alone.

So, first i have to point out that in the version that i got, her name was April, not Riana, and there was a whole story about how she came to her name. Not a huge deal, but something that i noticed. The other thing is that the summary over simplifies what happens here and the timing of it all, but again, not a huge deal.

We start off our journey at a moment in time when April wakes up to realize that she’s not alone in bed, and not just that she’s not alone, it’s not with her fiance Maurice, but instead with two men that she’s yet to identify. The other thing is the quick realization that she was supposed to have gotten married the day before and she’s now also got a hangover which makes the slow realization of reality a bit more harsh.

We then flash back to the previous 24 hours when her life came crashing down on her. They were in Vegas to get married, enjoying the weekend with their friends, when post the rehearsal dinner, April walks in on her fiance ‘getting it on’ with some random blonde woman. That turns her world upside down and now not only has she lost her fiance, but he makes it so that her entire world comes crashing down. Because he has so much power and influence, he makes sure that everyone things that she’s the one who cheated, cancels her credit cards, leaves the bill with her, takes her townhouse from her (calls in her loan) fires her from work and ensures that no one else will hire her. To add to that, he knows that April has no family and really no friends, so she’s left on an island.

It’s through a weird twist of fate that as April’s being kicked out, that a man from her past is in the hallway and comes to her rescue. We don’t know what the true background of the story is between Quinn and April, but we know that it can’t be all good (or bad) based on his reactions to her. He immediately wants to help but he has such anger for her that it’s mixed.

The journey from here is an interesting one. There’s clearly chemistry between these two and even with Quinn’s business partner Austin, so if nothing else, we’ll get a really hot and steamy story, but what we get in addition to that is a really sweet story about lost opportunities because of the lack of true communication when they were younger and a misunderstanding of motivations etc. As a result, things get sexy, complicated and so engaging.

When the guys realize that April is left with nothing, and they watch Maurice send people to come and take all her belongings, they jump in to make her feel a little better. They take her in for the night, go to the casino and drinking, try to get her mind off of things, and end up married. All three of them. Yup – you read that right. First Quinn and April get married and then immediately after, she and Austin do. and while it’s with the intention to get annulled in a few weeks, (after their month deal is over), you know that there are feelings involved and things are going to get dicey.

The bulk of this story is spend enjoying each other – we get the full expected flavor here from Ms Carew in the steamy scenes between this threesome. It’s hot and engaging and really helps take your mind off how bad April’s life can be. At the same time, we also watch April and Quinn better understand each other and Quinn’s hatred for what went down between them in the past seep away. Now that he understands her fears because of how she grew up, and understands why she walked away from him in college, his eyes are opened up to so many new things that he actually wants the arrangement that they have to be real.

Seems like everything will be perfect until Maurice comes back and begs April to take him back. Giving her back everything that he took away from her, compensating her for the past 24-48 hours of pain and fear. April doesn’t realize the motives behind it all but the guys realized quickly why he’s crawling back and it’s because she’s got something that he wants and is afraid that now she’ll have too much control over him. The problem though is that the guys see her with Maurice and make the wrong assumption, driving her to leave them earlier than their arrangement deemed fit and worlds come crashing down once again.

What we have form this story is the notion that there’s really no such thing as happily ever after and that sometimes the idea of ‘what happens in vegas stays in vegas’. You want more for everyone and yet you don’t know what’s possible and the only way to truly find out if anything was real or fantasy is to read this story and engage with them all. I think that you’ll enjoy this one for sure and i can’t wait to see what’s next from our author

When Rihanna is left with a hefty bill from her ex-fiancé, Las Vegas becomes a nightmare. Her old boyfriend Quinn sees her and comes to her aid. His business partner Austin also steps in for support and romance. A fair story with a lot of hot romance. Quinn’s on and off anger got to me after awhile though. A lot of change in a short time. Would recommend but more story depth would’ve helped.

Thank you to Netgalley, St. Martin's Press, and Opal Crew for this arc.

The premise of this book is what grabbed my attention. I'm all for an alpha male, billionaire love story, but double that? Wow. There was so much potential for this storyline and it definitely could've been turned into a slow burn trilogy. The beginning of the book had everything you could want in, the damsel in distress, the villain ex-fiance, and the angsty ex-boyfriend (and his best friend). But where I would've liked to have an intense confrontation between the damsel and her ex-fiance, it turned into a too fast amends. I'm all for bygones be bygones, but this was a bit hasty considering he cheated on her the night before their wedding and then tore her entire world from her.

I do love that there was a happy ending and the some intensely hot scenes and for those, it was worth the read.
