When Rihanna is left with a hefty bill from her ex-fiancé, Las Vegas becomes a nightmare. Her old boyfriend Quinn sees her and comes to her aid. His business partner Austin also steps in for support and romance. A fair story with a lot of hot romance. Quinn’s on and off anger got to me after awhile though. A lot of change in a short time. Would recommend but more story depth would’ve helped.

Thank you to Netgalley, St. Martin's Press, and Opal Crew for this arc.

The premise of this book is what grabbed my attention. I'm all for an alpha male, billionaire love story, but double that? Wow. There was so much potential for this storyline and it definitely could've been turned into a slow burn trilogy. The beginning of the book had everything you could want in, the damsel in distress, the villain ex-fiance, and the angsty ex-boyfriend (and his best friend). But where I would've liked to have an intense confrontation between the damsel and her ex-fiance, it turned into a too fast amends. I'm all for bygones be bygones, but this was a bit hasty considering he cheated on her the night before their wedding and then tore her entire world from her.

I do love that there was a happy ending and the some intensely hot scenes and for those, it was worth the read.

I could not get into this book at all. I think that the plot and storyline were decent enough, but the way the book is executed just doesn't work.

This is the first book I have read by this author. The plot was a bit far fetched, but honestly, who really cares. It was steamy and I stayed up too late reading. I will try out other books by this author now.

First off, I want to make a note to NetGally of the written description on Stroke of Luck. It says that the heroins name is Riana, but it's not, it's April. Hope that helps in fixing the name mixup!

Stroke of luck was extremely sexy and entertaining. From the beginning the author did a great job in keeping my attention glued to the writing. The story starts off with heartbreak and sadness but it slowly but surely takes a turn when the heroin finds love in an unexpected relationship.

A wedding day is every girls dream, especial a girl that has grown through the system without much love, April's wedding day was one that was supposed to be the happiest day of her life but it ended up being a day that shattered her heart when she witnessed her soon to be husband's infidelity. April couldn't go through the wedding after what she witnessed leaving her vulnerable in a hotel with a massive bill to pay on her own that she couldn't afford. Her ex fiancé canceled all their credit cards leaving her penniless.

Quinn's world tipped on its side when he saw the beautiful mess of a woman sitting close by was the one girl that broke his heart back in college. She looked broken. Quinn couldn't help himself, he needed to know what was leaving her looking so devastated. After receiving the information, he paid the enormous bill.

By paying the bill, April was now helpless and eager into paying Quinn back anyway she can. Even if it meant giving him something that he has always longed for when they where together. That's where the proposal comes in, starting their deal. April would have to not only be Quinn's lover for a month, but also be a lover to his business partner Austin at the same time.

Stroke of Luck was incredibly hot to read. I loved how the men wanted to do nothing but to take care of April, even though at time Quinn was a complete jerk to her. After all the past was rehashed between the two of them, the three characters relationships flourished with so much love and affection. This is a relationship of three, something not everyone can handle, but for April, Quinn and Austin, it worked beautifully!

Stroke of Luck by Opal Carew, published by St. Martin's Press, is a stand-alone, mfm, romance novel.
Meet April. She's a young woman, about to marry the love of her life, she thinks. But she cancels the wedding and in the aftermath she's out of everything. No job, check, no money, check. no home, double check and triple for the debts he left her with.
So good for her when she runs into an old friend and his friend.
Quinn and April share a past, and Austin takes one look at her and he's smitten, hook, line and sinker.
But Quinn has reservations.
I started reading and was like phew, a scorching story, only the heroine is a bit annoying. When you can overlook her insecurities and shallow reasons to break up with Quinn in the past, you'll have a great read, well written and highly entertaining.

Stroke of Luck is a fiery modern romance, I found the story to be fast-paced and quite delightful. Good characters and great writing.

Sometimes in life you have to make decisions that are not always what you want. April is awfully used to that. She has woken up on her wedding day to find out she’s stuck with a bill she can not afford, her fiancé is now an ex, and the staff are taking everything that I was bought for her by her ex. Couldn’t get worse right? Oh no the one who got away just happens to be in the same hotel.

Quinn dated April in college before she left him for her current ex. He never really knew what happened and thought he would forever hate her but seeing her in need he runs to her rescue. She is hell bend on paying him back and he’s bent on having her finally.

A month to share with Quinn and Austin seems like a small price to pay. But what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas.

I loved this one!!! It was insanely good and I didn’t want to go to work so I could finish it. Loved All three characters and would have been happier with a longer book.

I devoured this book in less than a day. I loved the characters and the premise of the story. Looking forward to reading more from this author. Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book.

I ended up skimming through this book towards the end. It just became endless scenes of a woman being passed back and forth between the two men. I just never got a sense of who these people were and that they ever really liked each other. They just liked what they did to each other. In this day and age, reading about a woman prostituting herself was just not appealing

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for providing this book in exchange for my honest review.
I’m going to start with the description on Goodreads – the MC’s name is incorrect and that threw me when I started reading. April, the MC, is left on her wedding day by a jerk of a man. The hotel in Las Vegas is kicking her out because her ex left the bill for her to take care of. She, of course, cannot pay it.
This was SO tough to get through. I didn’t connect with April or Quinn, which made it tough to care about what was going on. I found Austin to be interesting but again since I didn’t like April, I scanned a lot. I haven’t skipped over pages in a long time. I just could not get into this. I’m sure it will work for some people but I’m a hard pass on Stroke of Luck.

Unfortunately this book didn't do it for me. I liked Austin's character but didn't particularly connect with April or Quinn. I realize it's supposed to be an outrageous story but I guess I prefer things to be more realistic. I also wanted a final scene between April and Maurice to wrap everything up.

Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

April, a woman who grew up in the foster system, is in Las Vegas to get married but at the rehearsal dinner she finds her fiancé having sex with another woman. She is devastated. The next morning she is thrown out her room and her ex leaves her with the bill. Down the hall, Quinn exits his room and sees April, who is his ex and she left him in college, which he thought was because he had no money. Quinn and his best friend Austin are there to start their new life of leisure. They made a bundle off their company for cryptocurrency. Quinn pays her bill and April comes up with a way to pay him back, she will sleep with him. Quinn agrees but he wants to share her with Austin. They all become involved but will they all end up with a broken heart?
Ok first off, I know it’s an ARC but some of the dialogue ran together and some was separated too much. I like to be able to tell who’s talking or thinking. Ménage. M/F/M sex. And a second chance at love.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *

This second chance menage a trois romance burns red hot from beginning to end. I hope the author revisits these characters again to see what their futures hold.

4 Stars for Stroke of Luck by Opal Carew

ARC received from Netgalley & Publisher in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way ....

I am fairly new to M/F/M genre & I have to say it might not normally be my “jam” I’m definitely more of a one /one relationship but this book is just off the charts HOT!! I will definitely be checking out this author’s back list.. So glad I gave it a read ...

Let me just begin by saying how much I liked the cover & it immediately got my attention - also the setting is a favorite - being Las Vegas ❤️ 💰 🎰 ❤️

Great story ... April comes to Vegas for her wedding only to catch her fiancé in the act of cheating on her - she breaks things off but Maurice being the spiteful - wealthy - connected person that he is leaves her with a mountain of debt in her hotel bill & wedding expenses - even being so low as to demand back his engagement ring & the designer clothes off her back .... as April sits outside her penthouse suite waiting to be thrown out & berated by the hotel manager she meets up again with Quinn - her old boyfriend - the one in fact she left for Maurice ....

Quinn has never really gotten over April & offers to help her by paying her debt. He has also never forgiven her for breaking up with him with little to no explanation. Quinn’s friend Austin is also at the hotel - the two are very successful businessmen - both attracted to April. April insists on paying Quinn back somehow and they enter into a one month - no strings attached relationship. The only stipulation is that she agrees that Quinn & Austin will share her for the month.

You can’t help but love these (2) guys - although Quinn has definitely been burned by April - after now understanding her abandonment issues as a child and several foster care situations she never knew what it felt like to be loved or safe - confusing feelings of security for love.

The only reason I did not rate this 5 stars is that I would have liked to see how all three characters were doing a few months to a year down the road. Things ended a little abruptly & selfishly I just wanted to see more of these three living together day to day !

Really great book !!

This was a good love story. I liked all three characters. I wasn’t sure how it was going to end with all of them. A good read.

I'm no stranger to Opal Carew's works, however I haven't been reading any of her recent books. I was taken aback by the style, I remember how much I enjoyed reading her past books unfortunately I cannot say the same to Stroke of Luck. I had to read the cover again to make sure that I was given a book written by Opal Carew. I do understand that authors' style changed over the course of time but reading this book I thought it was written by a novice author. It had a solid story outline but the execution was somewhat lacking. I couldn't feel any sympathy for Riana (the heroine) nor do I have high opinion of Quinn (the ex boyfriend, hero #1). The only character that I quite like is Austin (Quinn's business partner, hero #2). I almost wish he has his own book and a new heroine because Riana certainly doesn't deserved him. Although this book is not for me, I'm sure there will be readers who enjoyed reading it.

Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this book. It was written well. The plot was alright. I just couldn’t stand the way the sexual scenes were played out. Juvenile and immature are the best words that come to mind when referencing the intimate encounters between the three MC’s. The female MC was just so plain and vanilla and the men were boring. The sex was even more so. And that might very well be someone else’s cup of tea, it’s just definitely not mine.
