I reallllly didn't enjoy this, and found it hard to get through. The target demographic (Christian women) wasn't apparent when I requested it, and it felt really antiquated - not so much tips for the modern world of online dating, but tips if you've never heard of online dating before and haven't the slightest clue. Not a fan.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. This is for a very religious woman and is basically the Bible written into this book.

This did not live up to my expectations. I found it hard to get into the content and it was not at all enjoyable for me.

Soooo, here's the thing. I somehow completely missed that the target audience for this book is Christian women. So while once upon a time I would have technically fit into this demographic, I don't really anymore. I don't really know how to rate this one, since I was expecting something else, but I think this book does do a fine job of discussing online dating from a Christian woman's perspective. It is probably best for young women who have no online dating experience or older women, as the author herself is older and the content is pretty baseline. One thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the frequency with which she mentioned that her ex-husband left her because he is gay. It felt like this was brought up unnecessarily sometimes and it came across as if she was still bitter about this.

Reading this book is like having an older sister or mentor sit down and give you some real, honest advice. Margot Starbuck has given us a guide to online dating that is practical, truthful, and encouraging.. Writing with wit, humor, and vulnerability, she shares practical advice on everything from the nuts and bolts of setting up your profile and what to look for in others’, to staying emotionally healthy through all the ups and downs online dating can bring. I think this book would be helpful for women of all ages and at all stages of their dating journeys. If you’re thinking about trying online dating, or if you need a little encouragement along the way, this book is for you!

It definitely has some good pointers for those women who want to five dating apps and online dating sites a real chance. It is extremely well thought out and organized—how to set up your profile, talking and what to do.

BOOK REVIEW - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - This book was hilarious! As someone who met my boyfriend on online dating, this book was timely and helpful. Highly recommend anyone who is online dating or wants to or wants to support their friend who is online dating, to read this. The perspective the author brings is relevant and in depth.

I wanted to read this book because I was curious of the perspective of online dating as a Christian. I liked what she had to say about some things but I also didn't agree with other parts as well. Which is totally fine. I think this book is for a niche community of christians who are trying to seriously date online. Outside of that community, i would say it is hit or miss on whether people enjoy or agree with what she has written. Was it my favorite "self help" book? No, but it did offer some new perspective and takes on online dating that I don't think I would've come across had it not been for this book. Definitely check it out if you are still deciding on online dating as a Christian!

An interesting concept and certainly relevant for today's society, but I found it causing me anxiety as I hate the idea of online dating. Also, in the midst of a pandemic, online dating seems less relevant. Ha.

This book is Christian Dating book - not recommended for those seeking a general guide to online dating.

This book was so great as someone who is a little older and actively part of the online dating seen. So great to see a book about dating geared towards an older crowd.

This book was well written and a great introduction to online dating for someone who has never done it before, particularly someone of an older demographic. However, as someone who has used dating apps for some time now, and also someone who is a bit younger than the target audience, there wasn't a whole lot of new information in here for me.
