It took me a really long time to finish this book. I think I just didn't read it at the right time originally. I finally went back to it and loved it! White has an amazing prose and a great knack at writing fully complex characters

I really liked this one. It takes the classic Arthurian world and gives it a darker, more twisted edge that feels fresh and unpredictable. The main character isn’t your typical hero, which made her journey more interesting to follow. The story moves at a good pace and the mystery kept me hooked, though a few parts felt a little slow. I appreciated the themes of betrayal and loyalty. It added real weight to the drama without feeling forced. Definitely a good one to pick up if you’re into Arthurian stories with a grittier vibe and complex characters!

Didn't love this one as much as I wanted to. I found the characters fairly one dimensional and was just overall disappointe.d

This book was a bit boring to me. I think this genre is a bit iffy with me as the stories seem a bit bland when I don't connect with characters. I didn't finish the book as I could not get into the characters.

Kiersten White is an absolute treasure! I love her books, and this was no different. It was an absolute fantastic follow up to The Guinevere Deception. She does fantastic world building and characters. The female lead character is always a winner with my students. Yes, even with the boys. We are all looking forward to more books from her!
Many thanks to to NetGalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

I loved Kiersten White's first book in the series and the directions she took the Arthurian legends which are a particular interest of mine. The second book continues that and makes it even better. I know it's taking me a long time but I will get to the final book!

This book was just filler, but not in the bad second book syndrome way. It was a bit slow for me, but you need this book for this series. I love the way the author has taken this story

I don't know why I thought I would enjoy this sequel because the first book was not my favorite. I've decided this author isn't for me. I was bored most of this book and confused as well.

As a fan of the first book in this series, I was excited to read the sequel, and it did not disappoint! While the plot did at times lag from "middle book syndrome", the strength of the characters and the world building was more than enough to keep me interested. This is primarily a character-driven series, and these characters are strong enough to hold up the book. Both excited for and dreading (that cliffhanger.....) the next installment!

Thank you Netgalley for the E-Arc in exchange of a review.
I started reading this one but didn't hold my interest. I thought the concept was good but I wish I could have connected with the characters and plot more.

I'm a little late to the game here, but overall enjoyed this story. Honestly, I liked the friendship with Lancelot over the relationship with Arthur, but still loved the dynamics and pacing.
Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love Guinevere and her knight, Sir Lancelot’s, relationship. They have such a strong friendship and I have to keep telling myself Lancelot is a woman as we all know Lancelot was a man. I think this made the friendship even stronger.
I have love/hate feeling about Guinevere and Author’s relationship. I love them both as people of course, but there are just ...things. I happen to like Mordred unless he does something bad in the next book.
I feel that Guinevere is slowly growing into herself in this book. We shall see where the next book takes us. I mean that ending!!!!
Oh, and that cover!!! Gah!! I need an art book full of all the beautiful book covers!!

Like most book series, I was worried that this would have the second book syndrome. But I was pleasantly surprised! The plot was steady and I enjoyed this story as much as the first book!

Okay so I tried the next book and I found that this is just not for me. I really wanted to love these books but I just don't think it was executed very well.

I will be honest, I wasn't too sure about this one in the beginning. It started a little slow for me and the stakes didn't appear to be particularly high.
I did enjoy the character growth Guinevere was displaying and I also really enjoyed the subplot following Isolde and Brangien; give me a rescue mission any day.

I love a new Kiersten White—always complex female characters, unique reimaginings, and page-turning plots. This did not disappoint!

I was worried when I read the blurb for this book that it would have ‘second book syndrome’ but I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually better than the first one! The plot kept me on the edge of my seat and I can honestly say I had no idea where it was headed- in the best way. The world, the magic, and the author’s interpretation of the characters and their relationships was so unique from anything else I’ve read/ heard for a Camelot retelling. I definitely recommend this series and am looking forward to reading the third installment.

I have felt that this series has been getting better and better. While I don’t think this book was very life changing or very progressive in terms of the story, I also don’t think it was worse than the first. There was some development but overall more of a filler of a book. Not bad, but not great.

I really enjoyed book 2 in the Camelot Rising series. The Camelot Betrayal was a little slow at first and it took a little bit to draw me back into Camelot. But once I was back, I was hooked. Absolutely loved the story, characters, and flow.

I got about halfway into this book and realized that I'd lost interest in the characters. This is probably more a me thing than anything, but I just didn't have any will to finish the book. I do look forward to upcoming Kiersten White books though!
