As the U.S. was getting ready to return to the Philippines the 503 paratroopers infantry regiment landed to take over Corredor. A good book describing the objectives and then the battles that took place. After reading this it was one part of World War two that I had never really heard about so I was glad that someone wrote about these men and gave them their moment to shine. A very good book.

Thank you Kevin Maurer and NetGalley for this opportunity to read and review this book. With the members of The Greatest Generation leaving us at a rapid rate it is truly and honor to learn of their heroism during WWII. This book gives us another view of the Philippine battle bringing the reader smack into the action. I appreciate the research and writing style that showcases all the facets of the battle - good and bad. An excellent read.

Excellent story of the 503rd Airborne Infantry's airborne assault on Corregidor. Kevin Maurer blends the overall battle into the personal stories of the men who fought there. It is highly recommended for anyone who is interested in the stories of the men who fought during WWII. He brings the reader straight into what these men, even a Japanese soldier, were seeing, thinking. One can almost feel the bullets crack by your head, feel the sweat and smell the awful stench of the dead. Tremendous book. I recently recorded a podcast with Kevin on SOFREP.com that will be released soon

A intriguing look at a little known action in WW2 during the Philippine campaign. The story is well told and intermixed with great accounts from those who fought. This book is a must read for the WW2 enthusiast.

Thank you to #Net Galley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
