Kendra is the Enneagram One this world needs. She takes the ordinary and mundane things and makes them more manageable. How? By teaching us to find OUR perfect way to do things. If you want a book of instructions - keep moving along because this isn’t it. This is a book of encouragement. A book about getting the daily things done in simple ways, digging in to what is important to your own individual routines, and finding new ways to be lazy about what doesn’t matter to you but still needs to get done. On a personal note, Kendra’s words have changed my life over the years of listening to her podcast and now reading her book. I have struggled with feeling like I’m simultaneously not enough and too much at the same time. I’ve felt trapped, like if I can’t do it better/best then I can’t try at all. Kendra has spoken grace, truth, and hot dogs into my life and helped me to see that I don’t have to be exhausted and throw in the towel. I can show up as myself. I can value what is important to me. I can let go of the things that aren’t. And most importantly, if I can’t do it well, I can still do it. I don’t have to be afraid to try and I don’t have to be ashamed if it flops. So if you’re wondering if you should read this book, the answer is yes.

I love Kendra Adachi's podcast. Her book is a breath of fresh air. In her book she gives you permission to name what matters to YOU, not your neighbor or your favorite blogger, just you. And it's okay that what is most important to me is not what is most important to you. In her book she helps you to help yourself answer the magic question "What really matters to me?"

The Lazy Genius Way is an incredible set of tools for the tool belt you use to navigate life. The genius of Kendra is her simplicity and her practicality, and I will, for the rest of my life, be grateful for the helpful tips she has put into words. Naming what matters to me? In each season of life? It's truly life-changing. Starting small? Setting house rules? Batching? Essentializing? All of these simple practices are so wise and so helpful, but the truth is that most of them have never occurred to me before Kendra put these practices into words in the pages of this book.

Buy this book. Study this book. Mark it up. Return to it again and again. It absolutely will change your life for the better.

Kendra Adachi's new book, 'The Lazy Genius Way,' comes out today! I was lucky to get to read an advance digital copy. If you're not familiar, listen to some episodes of the Lazy Genius Podcast by way of introduction. In fact, you can listen to both the book intro and chapter 1 on the podcast, as well as "behind the scenes" stuff, which is always my favorite!

If you are familiar with the podcast, the book will also be familiar in tone and approach. The book is a nice, tidy way of organizing all the Lazy Genius principles into something practical that you could pull off the shelf when you're stuck navigating a challenge or need encouragement to move forward with something or just want to feel like someone else gets what you're going through. About half the book is mind-set stuff, really helping you think through what matters. The rest is actionable tips and suggestions.

There's good stuff for everyone, but I think moms will get the most from this book as lots of the tips are aimed at helping busy moms. If you're a busy mom with little kids, you'll likely find this a 5-star book!

Goodness. This is the content I didn’t know I even needed. This is a very readable and relatable book about how to be lazy about unimportant or less important things, and genius about the important ones. I am re-examining so many areas of my hectic life in order to prioritize and focus most on the good stuff. I have since found the Lazy Genius podcast which I highly recommend as a daily listen.

Kendra's debut book was amazing! She provided you with 13 life-changing tips to help make your days as smooth as possible. Not only will her lazy genius ways help your life better, but it will allow more time and energy to focus on your purpose and your calling. I loved the layout of the book, with each chapter ending in a recap and one small challenge. Loved this book, and can't wait for more from Kendra!

I received and Advanced Readers Copy of this book from NetGalley, but all opinions expressed are my own.

I loved this book! Lots of great ideas that can be applied to a myriad of situations and life stages with zero judgement or pressure to be more than just myself! So glad there are authors like Kendra to help people without steamrolling over different priorities or ideals.

Kendra and this book are smart, funny, and so very practical. This book is very relevant to families with younger kids but we are empty nesters and there is really something for everyone no matter what stage of life. You can Lazy Genius anything and make your life - and how you want to live it - easier. No need to follow someone’s prescribed list of magical to-do’s. Just apply Kendra’s principles to the things that matter to you and ignore - be lazy - about the things that don’t. Genius Kendra! (Love her podcast The Lazy Genius too!)

Kendra has a way of presenting seemingly simple ideas without making you feel dumb for not thinking of them already. She gives suggestions for how to streamline so many areas of life, but with flexibility to really make it fit your lifestyle. I highly recommend this book!

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I found myself with an empty house on a Saturday afternoon, what did I do? Ahh yes, read a book! I’ve seen @thelazygenius floating around and being recommended on pages I follow, so I figured I would check it out. Thanks to @netgalley @thelazygenius and @waterbrookmultnomah for the copy of this book!! For me, it wasn’t anything perhaps mind blowing but it was a wonderful reminder and refocus. Since March, I’ve lived in survival mode...what’s coming next? Forget plans or routines? This book was a reboot of not only simplifying and organizing all aspects of life. But also, this book was a reminder about the power of perspective and most of all to be kind to ourselves! It was a quick and uplifting afternoon read!

I really enjoyed The Lazy Genius Way. There are many helpful tips to make your life easier and less stressful, but I think the most important takeaway for me was a change of mindset. Make decisions based on what matters to ME. It is so easy to get caught up in what we should do and how we should do it based on what others are doing. But I feel like I was just given permission to let all that go.

I plan to read this one again, and will probably buy myself a hard copy so I can highlight and make notes.

Thank you to NetGalley and WaterBrook for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve been a fan of Kendra’s for years, and was beyond thrilled to read her first book! A self-help book that doesn’t tell you what to do, but how to look at your motives, and make the best choices for you. “Be a genius about the things that matter, and lazy about the things that don’t.” Full of practical helps and stories, but also full of grace and permission to be myself. I felt seen - but still loved, which is a delightful combo. Wish I could have given this to my new mom self a decade ago. Highly recommend. Thanks to NetGalley and Water Books for the arc.

This book! The Lazy Genius Way: Embrace What Matters, Ditch What Doesn't, and Get Stuff Done by Kendra Adachi. Wow, it is a must-read! ⁣

She is like the cool big sister that still likes you and helps you when she's a teenager and you're not.

I really enjoyed how calm and non-judgmental every chapter was. The "take it or leave it" stance is a warm and encouraging one!

This book isn't for you if your life and everything about it is smooth sailing. Nothing feels hectic and you still listen to all the advice that your cool big sister told you. (the good one, not the rebel!) If so, you can skip this one, but the other 99.99% of us will greatly benefit from this book!

I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher in exchange for my review.

I reviews on Barnes and Noble, too. Just taking several days to approve.

“Movement, not necessarily a finish line, is the new goal”

I would like to start off by saying thank you to NetGalley and WaterBrook & Multnomah for gifting me this eARC in exchange for an honesty review!

The Lazy Genius Way is about figuring out what is important to you and ignoring everything else. Some people love waking up at 5AM everyday and going for a run before work, but if you don’t than forget about it. You’re no less of a person. Some people think it’s important to keep their house looking brand new and spotless. If you like the more lived in look, then don’t feel guilty about inviting people over when it’s a little bit of a mess.

Kendra writes in such a fun and witty way that you feel like you’re getting advice from a close friend. She doesn’t make you feel bad for wanting the things you want, or for not caring about the things other people seem to think are crazy important.

I really liked her principle of “deciding once”. Out of everything in the book, I think this is the one thing I will actually put into practise. Make the same dinner every Sunday night to make the transition to the workweek easier. Where the same outfit every Monday to make Monday mornings easier, etc.

I found The Lazy Genius way very interesting and helpful at first but about halfway through I felt like I was reading the same information over again, just worded a different way.

Overall I did take away a few helpful tips from this book, and if you like self improvement books this is worth a read.

PS. Is putting beans in your chilli weird? I always thought beans were a main part of chilli, but Kendra made it sound like everyone thought she was crazy for doing it??

I wish this book was around when my kids were younger and still at home!

I stressed about "Mom Stuff": cooking, cleaning, school stuff, lunch, dinner, etc. The LGW and Kendra would have helped me so much. BUT you don't have to be a mom to learn life lessons from her-she's amazing that way!

Not great at cooking, like me, unless you have a step by step recipe? Kendra teaches how to rif and invent or adapt recipes yourself. WITHOUT the stress.

This isn't a "self help" book because Kendra just talks you through finding out what YOU want and what YOU love and how to make that a priority in life without failing at the other "must do" things.

Listen to her podcast and read this book!

I wasn’t sure if the book would be enough different from all the content on her podcast or blog, but it was 100% amazing. I can’t tell you the number of things I’ve highlighted or said “wow. Just wow. How did Kendra know what was bouncing around inside my head?” Loved it which is saying something because non-fiction “self-help” (it’s not really self-helpish) isn’t my jam but I loved this all the way to the end!

The Lazy Genius Way is a book for every woman in every season. It’s both practical and soulful. It isn’t a book of to-do’s and rules that leave you feeling overwhelmed and not enough. It’s a book packed full of grace, permission, freedom, and the tools to truly help you live a life full of what matters to you. I loved every page and will definitely be purchasing more copies for the amazing women in my life,
