Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for this book.to read
I have been reading this series with great interest. Love Raven - she has just enough sass to keep going in the face of everything. I have been incredibly delayed in writing this review but not because this book is not worth reading. Absolutely a well built world that Raven inhabits. including her family - who definitely add more flavour to the story and her love interest is pretty awesome as well. Definitely a series worth starting if you haven't yet as there is plenty to enjoy.

Having enjoyed the first two books in the series I was eager to get my hands on an ARC of the third book. I have to say, at first I was a bit disappointed. It was slow and seemed to have degenerated into some NA parody of how hot is my supernatural boyfriend. I even stopped reading for weeks/ months past the release date, but because I feel the need to finish a book, or at least give it a fair shot before I DNF it, I picked it up again last night for one last try. And blow me, I loved it. Take it as you will, was it a slow start? Or was I just not in the right reading mind?

Brief recap, Raven Crawford and her twin brother Bear are actually the product of their mother's (a fox shifter) love affair with Odin's creation, Huginn Muninn. Raven defeated the former Queen of Corvids, Lloth, with the help of Bane, Lord of War, and won her throne by default. However, as someone with little knowledge of the Others or her powers there is a long line of Corvid Others lining up to kill her and seize the throne. Oh, and she is also a Private Eye with her sleazy ex-boyfriend's medical school bills a millstone around her neck and a soul-destroying job as a waitress in a grubby diner.

It all starts when Pepe, Raven Crawford’s father’s revenge goat, goes missing. Then there’s the obligation to Bane, Raven’s friendship with Meghan to resolve, the Closers to investigate, and being blackmailed by the hyenas! And lest we forget, her budding romance with Cole, Lord of Shadows.

I don't know if this is the end of the series, it certainly feels like it as the plot builds to a crescendo and Raven totally owns her powers. Go, girl power! Raven draws on all her powers/strengths to solve the mysteries and confound her enemies.

Once I got over the slow start (for me), this was fast paced and Raven bounces from resolving one problem to another, we hobnob with the gods of myth, militant human groups, shifters and sleazy bosses.

A triumphant climax to the trilogy, with enough loose ends to suggest that this is not the last we've heard of Raven Crawford, so HFN not HFE.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review, even if it is months late.

A great finale to this series of Norse myth, ravens and dark magic.

If you like myths and legends, a sassy kickass female lead with a tale that keeps you turning pages i would absolutely recommend this series!

Queen of Corvids (A Raven Crawford Novel) – J. C. McKenzie

I was kindly provided with a copy of this book in order to give an honest review.

There are three books in the “Raven Crawford” series by J. C. McKenzie starting with “Conspiracy of Ravens” followed by “Nevermore” and “Queens of Corvids”. Prior to reading “Queens of Corvids” I have only read “Nevermore”.

With “Queens of Corvids” we are once again along for the ride as Raven Crawford, the new Queen of Corvids, comes to terms with yet another series of fae and magical complications in her life.

Raven must come to terms with her new position as Queen of Corvids and her budding relationship with the dark fae Lord of Shadows – Cole. Raven needs to learn everything her new position entails and how to wield her powers, preferably sooner rather than later or she may find herself in a few precarious situations.

She has a promise with the dark fae Lord of War, Bane to keep which typically, is something easier said than done. Raven must also fend off numerous assassination attempts and find a way to establish herself in the dark fae world as someone who is not to be messed with.

All the while she must contend with a mysterious black mailer, the true loyalties of a friend and the ever-present threat of the Closers. And if that wasn’t enough of a full plate, Juni, Raven’s younger sister is taken.

Will Raven be able to rise and face all the challenges ahead of her or will she crumble and buckle under the pressures faced by the Corvid Queen.

I was eager to read the “Queens of Corvids” and learn what adventures Raven would be taking me on. Raven is portrayed as your typical young adult and is a very vivid character. The author, like with all her characters in this story, has made the dialogue believable and not farfetched, talking as you would expect a young adult to talk who is trying to find their place in the world while constantly dealing with moody dark fae lords.

The storyline really flowed in this book and was easy to follow, though I do wish a couple of scenes were dealt with slightly longer than what the author had done. Don’t get me wrong, the scenes were good but they did feel slightly rushed and compressed.

Overall a vivid and tantalising read to curl up to and let one’s imagination run away with them as they run away with the characters.

Raven the new queen, Cole the master of the shadows and in love with Raven, together they fight dark fae kings, queens and bunch of others! You can read this as a stand-alone but it’s better to read the previous stories to get the background. What’s a girl to do when she has to wear an Armoured bra with little else in order to appear at court!

"I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

Queen of Corvids by J.C. McKenzie, Ravens story continues at a breakneck pace. Things keep happening to Raven and this time her whole family is in the middle of it all.

ARC from NetGalley

3.5 stars

I must say, JC McKenzie plays fast and loose with the snark, and she does a good job of it. The sex scenes in this book left a bit to be desired. I feel like there was some lost potential there, especially the last one. I feel like that whole scene could have been done so well. It was supposed to be so powerful, but it fell a little flat for me.

This book was an entertaining read. It wasn't amazing. I wasn't on the edge of my seat, but I did chuckle from time to time, and I was interested throughout. I also need to throw some love out to whoever does her covers. They are gorgeous.

Raven is a beautiful main character. I enjoyed the witty and sometimes snarky banter between her and the other characters. There is non-stop action and elaborate fighting with a freaking scythe! This book is fire!
If you are looking for an extraordinary series, than I definitely recommend you read this one.

Raven Crawford is back and as snarky as ever. In Queen of Corvids, Raven takes the first steps in owning the mantle thrust upon her in the previous book. This was a book about Raven's personal growth - her acceptance of her role in the world of the fae, her changing relationship with friends and family and perhaps the first time she felt confidence in her own adulting.

It has been wonderful to watch Raven grow through the series. I love the relationship she has with her family - though I don't condone throwing away poutine in any circumstances.

Raven Crawford wears the crown like the Queen that she is in this latest installment of A Conspiracy of Ravens series.

Raven has come a long way since the first book in the series. She’s discovering just how truly powerful she is and how to use that power to maintain her title as Queen. Raven and Co. still have all the comedy, adventure, love and heart that has filled the first two books. The romance between Raven and Cole is so natural, you can’t help but to keep rooting for them. Queen of Corvids also has resolutions to a few storylines from the series. We find out what exactly Ravens job entails as being Queen and how it helps her with the crippling debt she has been in from her loser ex. We find the Lord of War is still not a patient man and not only is he expecting Raven to do something about the humans, but the humans are expecting Raven to do something about the Dark world of the Fae.

A huge thanks to the author and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series because it seamlessly weaves together ancient Celtic and Norse mythology into a breathtaking urban fantasy landscape. The heroine is snarky and fiercely independent. The cast of secondary characters is amazing. The villains and the heroes are complex.

Raven Crawford reluctantly claims her inheritance. She agrees to let the Lord of Shadows train her to use her magic, and she tries to figure out a way to stop Bane, the Lord of War, from ruining her life. But there are a lot of people that want her dead. She's always fighting off would-be assassins in dark alleys and empty parking lots. And she can;t depend on her powerful boyfriend to save her.

I loved this addition to the series! Raven finally comes into her own. She learns that there are bonds beyond her family that are important to her. She learns that she is just as cunning and strong as her enemies. She makes a place for herself and saves the world. All in a day's work.

There were revelations and plot twists I didn't expect, and the relationships become deeper and more swoonworthy.

I cannot wait to read the next book in the series ----- I'm hoping there will be one? I need to see Raven claim the full power of her throne as the Queen of Corvids.

This is a series that just keeps giving. I read this book, then bought the first two and read all three in order. Love the characters and watching them grow on the pages. A series you don't want to miss.

I haven't read the first two books but it was easy enough to get an idea of what happened before. I really liked Raven she's feisty with a big heart and she truly shines so much so that some of the other characters can't really get out of that shadow. I will definitely read the first two bc the story is really refreshing

This series is exactly what every paranormal romancer loves about this genre! The author’s style is unique but she builds a great storyline for her readers and stays true to her characters. You can feel Raven’s confidence build as well as feel the world within becoming more complex and vivid. This ARC was provided by #netgalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own. I rate this a five out of five and would suggest it for anyone wanting a fun read! I don’t want to give too much away in this review but it definitely made me excited to share a good find!

Raven is still coming into her own as Queen of the Corvids. As per usual, Raven's got a million different things going on. When she's not fighting off attacks, she's busy navigating the Underworld and taking on cases. Her most current is her father's missing goat.

Raven overextends herself trying to do it all. Luckily, she has the Lord of Shadows, Cole, by her side. She gains a badass bodyguard thanks to him. Now, on to how to solve all of her other problems.

Author J.C. McKenzie's RAVEN CRAWFORD series is action-packed. There's never a dull moment with Raven and her Lord of Shadows, Cole. The chemistry between them is off the charts. The series consists of three novels to date, CONSPIRACY OF RAVENS, NEVERMORE and QUEEN OF CORVIDS. I really enjoyed watching Raven come into her own. No one is more deserving than her. Although, I heard QUEEN OF CORVIDS is the last novel in the series, I very much hope it's not true. I know Raven can do and be so much more. Urban Fantasy fans won't want to miss the RAVEN CRAWFORD series.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.

This is the third in the series, and I have enjoyed them all so far. The plot picks up some of the unfinished business from the last book, (the block on travel, the conspiracy, the court politics) and hits the ground running. There are still the constant threats Raven is facing- both from blackmail and those who want her court, but there are other things to deal with first. This time, there are more layers to the plot, and they’re all wonderfully interwoven. I loved how this book perfectly shows her growing into what she will become for the rest of the series, and gives an idea of where we’re going next. Also, I very much liked the whole trolls bit- I had just re-read the first Harry Potter book and all I could think about when I read about her vault was Harry’s reaction to his, and the trolls reminded me a bit of Gringotts. (Don’t mess with them on money, it won’t go well.).
I think this will be a series that really picks up from here, and turning into one of those series you love to re-read just to look for clues when waiting for the next one to come out.

Another great book in the series. I really enjoy these books. They are super fun to read and have just the right amount of humor, romance and action in them. The writing is also great, it goes fast and just sucks you into the world of Raven.
This book was a lot about Raven finding her footing and independence in the underworld. Cole gave her the freedom to learn and yet was always close by. Sometimes a little too much for my liking but that is just Cole and it would be out of character for him any other way.
Final in this book the discussion about their father with the family finally happens and it was fun and awkward (for them) at the same time.
We also learn a lot of new things which makes it even more interesting and not just about Raven but people around her.
Of course I still love her family and anytime we get to spend with them is so much fun.
Mike is still one of my favorite and I hope we will get a book for him at some point.
Overall another fun and great book in the series.
I rate it 4 ★

First off I have to mention that I have not read the first two books of this series! However, it was quite surprising that I was able to grasp most of the context from this book. Of course it did take me a little time to get used to the characters and the setting and the magic!

The book is fast paced and well-written in a no nonsense manner! The story moves quite fast and is quite enjoyable as it is mixed with both action and romance. The main character, Raven, is strong and though there could have been more depth to her character, she is quite interesting. I particularly enjoyed her dynamics with her guard and with the Lord of Shadows. Another particularly interesting part of the story is Raven's dynamics with her family and friends.

This story follows her journey towards gaining confidence in herself and taking up the mantle of the Queen of Corvids completely. We watch her navigate the meeting halls of the dark fae and even watch as she works to outsmart most of the villains including the Lord of War!

An enjoyable read, this story is gripping and fun in equal measure! I do hope to read more books by this author soon!

Queen of Corvids was action-packed! It took me less than 24 hours to read it. We spent more time in the dark fae world, more magic, danger, fae characters. Raven is coming into her own badassery as queen. My favorite character is Rouke. He had a big brother presence that made me smile. He let Raven handle her business but step in when it got too hairy.

Although I like Cole in this Queen of Corvids better then Nevermore, he still kind of had the attitude of the less Raven knows the more she is protected. I also felt that Raven let Cole off the hook too easily. I would have liked to see Raven make him squirm a little about some of the over-protectiveness. Raven, for the most part, is a bad-ass character except when it came to Cole. She is totally fine with him withholding important information from her. It felt like he was either hovering and being too overprotective or took a completely hands-off approach and let her fumble through problems. Rouke and Raven were more of a team then Cole and Raven.

Overall I really enjoyed Queen of Corvid. It took me into another world where trolls controlled bridges, mob boss like shifter gangs who blackmail, multiple realms, gods, bad boy assassins. I'm definitely interested in more books in this series, I would love to dive into more characters and this whole world in general. </p>
