As one who has done both keto and intermittent fasting (usually together), I was interested to see if this book had an additional info on how I could leverage fasting to help me reach my goals. What I found was a lot of confirmation of things I know (mostly, that calories in vs calories out is NOT the way to lose weight), and that fasting could be used to better achieve my goals. I appreciated the combo of three authors who each brought a unique perspective while working together to make the concepts accessible and understandable to all.

While I was already familiar with fasting, this book is full of great hints and explanations that enhanced my understanding. A great guide for those just starting and a good refresher for those that already use fasting.

I loved THE OBESITY CODE by Fung. I have found that fasting has really helped me lose weight and feel that it is very beneficial for the body. I was very excited to be able to read this book in advance. It is very helpful. I have ordered the book for the library.

I became interested in Jason Fung’s work because I, like everyone else, was tired of failing at dieting. Actually, I was great at dieting; I just wasn’t all that great at maintaining years later. As I get older, the idea that I will always be frustrated about dieting and worrying about obesity-related diseases seemed too much to add to my already long list of what-to-worry-about-as-you-age. Who needs to age and worry? So, Dr. Fung’s work on insulin and obesity kept coming up in various discussions about obesity and I was curious. I read his book, THE OBESITY CODE, and was fascinated. I heartily recommend it. He advocates spending some time not eating during the day. He calls this period of time/activity intermittent fasting. For years, folks have been encouraged to have mini meals constantly. He points out that obesity has soared as a result and has data to prove it. LIFE IN THE FASTING LANE has three authors and is geared towards folks who want to understand his concepts as simply and clearly as possible. This book does that trick and more, everything is well articulated and easy to understand. As a book it is great; as a life manual it is even better. I received my copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
