It was okay, decent amount of smut, could be more and more build up to their chemistry and falling for each other. But because of the very steamy detailed smut i give it 3 stars.

Without a doubt, Mary Sue Jackson’s Healing the Rancher is one that kept me captivated from beginning to end. With the threat of evil threaded throughout the story...I knew it was coming, I just didn’t know when and just keep waiting for it to happen (very Alfred Hitchcockesk...the pages kept turning at a rapid pace just waiting.

In Carter was a larger than life man who suffered great pain...in Willow was his salvation. Throw in one of the most lovable little man and you have a cast of primary characters who were supported perfectly by the secondary ones who added dimension and substance to the overall story.

his is an entertaining and romantic story. When Wilow needs to run from her abusive ex-husband, she finds herself at a ranch with a very grumpy Carter. Carter's not happy because he can't do his work as a rancher if he can't ride because of his seriously damaged hip, which he broke getting thrown from a horse. He's ready to throw her off the ranch the minute she arrives, until he sees her small son. They fight and snark at each other, but they're both fighting the attraction between them, and Carter is just mad at the world. Carter is also drawn to Willow's son Tavish, because he was so traumatized by his father that he doesn't speak. Willow is also fearful of he ex finding her, which adds a little suspense to the story. It's a well written story that puls you !n a little at a time.

I love stories of strong cowboys that have met their match, and then falls for her as they wade through to their HEA. Add in the woman's son and you have a hot sexy story that describes "Healing the Rancher". Carter, Willow, and Tavish's story is just feel good reading. As with all hot sexy romance stories, there is lots of drama and page turning romance that gives readers exactly what we are looking for with rifts that always gives that aha moment. A story not to be missed, **I was gifted a copy of "Healing the Rancher" and leave my review voluntarily based on my reading** 4.5 Stars!

This book grabs your attention in the first chapter and keeps you engaged until the end of the book. It was so easy to connect to the characters and feel their emotions. Carter Janus was injured while riding an unruly horse. He has extreme pain but needs to be able to ride and work with his horses to keep his ranch. He was concerned when his friend sends a physical therapist to his ranch to help him. He had several therapists already and none of them was able to help him. Recently divorced Willow Spalding and her son Tavish are trying to stay hidden from Andy, her abusive ex-husband. Tavish was scared around strangers and had stopped speaking after seeing his mother being abused by Andy. Willow and Tavish quickly come to love life at the ranch and the Janus family, but Willow knows Andy is still looking for them. Carter is determined to protect them and keep them safe at his ranch. This book had heart-warming characters and was packed with emotions.

I thank netgalley for the digital arc, and this is my honest review.

This was the escape I was looking for. It's an adult cowboy romance, and my first read in the genre. It's been a while since I've read a romance and I forgot how easy and fast reads they are.

It's about a grim cowboy who suffered an injury and his new beautiful physical therapist and her dark past haunting her and her son who come to his ranch in Texas from New York to help him get back in shape. Of course, its a love story between them, it's full of cliches and drama and over-the-top characters, also some pretty good sexy scenes which were pretty enjoyable to read.

I finished it in a day, of course the drama was too much for my brain reading this book, since I only read for the romance and the sexy times, but it did deliver and I really enjoyed my first foray into the subgenre.

Willow and her son Tavish were trying to escape Willow’s abusive ex-husband when she accepted a position as a physical therapist far away from her ex.

Carter owns a horse ranch but has been suffering from injuries he suffered after having been thrown by a horse. Afraid that he may never be able to ride again, he contacts an old friend who puts him in touch with a physical therapist.

Despite their many issues, Willow and Carter are instantly attracted to one another. But can they escape their issues long enough to find happiness together?

Healing the Rancher by Mary Sue Jackson was a captivating romance, that will capture your heart. I loved the touch of danger and suspense that was added to keep the storey exciting.

The story is about a handsome cowboy named Carter, and Willow. They have a connection from the start, that grows in the most perfect way. I feel like the author made this story very "real". All the characters were easy to relate to and you could easily insert yourself into the book.

I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a good romance story!

Carter has had a terrible accident on a horse that has left him with debilitating injuries. He hires Willow, a physical therapist, to live on his ranch and help him rehabilitate. Willow brings along her young son who has issues from seeing his crazy father abuse his mother. I know that this probably sounds like just all the other romances but that's not the case. Author, Mary Sue Jackson, does a phenomenal job of developing her characters and writing a story that was endearing, interesting and kept me up reading into the night. Yes, it is steamy but it was just a good story that I found to be very engaging and I really loved it!

Actual rating: 2.5⭐

I got this from NetGalley. Thank you NetGalley for making this available for review.

The main reason that interests me on this book is the single parent theme. Whenever a book has that premise I add them on my tbr. I love how the guy will work hard to endear himself on the kid. I love mushy scenes like that.

On this book we have Carter, a rancher who had an accident on a horse that's why he needs a physical therapist. Now in came Willow, a PT and his son Tavish hiding/running away from an abusive ex-husband.

All the needed pieces are there for an enjoyable read. But unfortunately, I was bored. I almost dnf this one. I think one reason why it was difficult for me to finish this is the predictability of the plot. It just read like a usual romance novel. I was expecting something exciting but it was bland.

Also, I was hoping for more Tavish. The supposed action part was too short and decorated by a one dimensional villain.

Did I expect too much? I don't know. ☹

A beautiful contemporary romance! Healing the Rancher is well delivered, emotional read, with heartfelt characters and a believable story line. This one is definitely my favorite to date by this exciting author

This has everything I look for in a romance. A surly cowboy who won't ask for help. A feisty woman whose determined to help him. Throw in a little one and a meddling mama and I'm a gonner.
This is the first time I've read anything by this author and enjoyed the story she created.
Th He main characters Willow and Carter had a rough start but the author does a great Turing turning their standoffish friendship into more. There's a little drama with her ex-husband that was a bit cliche but I didn't mind it.
It was an enjoyable read.

HEALING THE RANCHER by Mary Sue Jackson. This is the story of Carter and Willow. Carter, having suffered an injury after being thrown from a horse, requires the care of physical therapist. Enter Willow and her son, Tavish. Carter is very stubborn and fights Willow every turn about his care. That really irked me. Willow, recently divorced and free of an abusive relationship, came across as strong and fiercely protective of Tavish, despite living in fear that her ex would show up. Unfortunately, I never truly felt the connection between these two. I did see it a bit more on her part, but not his. The emotions just didn't come across for me. The story itself was a bit drawn out too. While some action occurred, it was a long time coming. This was not a terrible read, just not a great one in my opinion.

*ARC kindly provided via NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.*

I needed a contemporary book to change things up and I’ve found this one in the “Read Now” section of NetGalley and I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad that I did! The book left me with such good feelings and introduced me to an author that can become a favorite!

Carter is a rancher unable to ride. Imagine the frustration he’s feeling after an injury left him with a busted hip and constant pain. He’s in a bad mood everyday and snaps about everything.

Willow is a PT hired to help Carter stand on his own two feet again. A single mother to a 5-year-old boy, she moves to the ranch to escape her life. Coming from a difficult last few months, she’s skittish and protective of her son Tavish.

Carter and Willow are clashing from day one. Neither of them is ready to surrender. Their encounters are electric and the attraction between them is undeniable. While these two are mentally fighting, little Tavish is flourishing at the ranch. I was so happy to see him coming out of his shell and connecting with people again.

This cowboy romance is a perfect fit if you are looking for a story that makes you swoon and leave you with only good feelings. Don’t worry there’s the right amount of drama to spice things up as well!!

I really enjoyed the beginning and middle of, Healing the Rancher. Not the ending as much though. Too much lead up and then done too quick. I did appreciate that most of the book centers around Carter and Willow.

This was a cute romantic book. Carter was a stubborn, grouchy man who found love. Willow was as stubborn as Carter and could put her foot down as needed to help carter improve. The way that carter dealt with Tavish was great. And having his brothers show up unexpectedly was amusing.
