Reference, Computers & Internet

This is a very handy guide to have while working with Word. The command directions are easy to follow. I think the keyboard shortcuts list is worth its weight in gold. I know how frustrated I get when I want to perform a specific action and wish I knew a way to do it quickly.

This is definitely something I will have on hand whenever I use Word. I highly recommend this to anyone that uses Word on wither a Windows computer or a Mac.

My first impression of In 30 Minutes Word 2019 Intermediate Desktop Reference and Cheat Sheet for Windows and Mac Operating Systems is, it’s comprehensive, clear, and concise. The pamphlet supports features that intermediate users value the highest. The 4-page pamphlet includes such sections as: How to create citations, a bibliography, how to use internal links in documents, how to create an index and offers guidance on using collaboration within Word 2019.

In 30 minutes Word 2019 is a must have for all those wanting to streamline their productivity and increase their efficiency in Microsoft Word.

Its conciseness is its strength. The most critical elements for the intermediate user are covered and supported with an extensive keyboard shortcut list. A list that aids the user in finding, using, and learning the most important shortcuts for faster document production.

Word 2019 is just one of many In 30 Minutes Reference and Cheat Sheets available. Please see the section below for further details.

A Microsoft Word cheat sheet!

I was excited to see the goodies on here. I would say of all the Microsoft Office applications, I struggle with Word the most. At least from a utilization standpoint. There are so many tools available but I can never quite figure out how to use them correctly and instead end up wasting hours.

This cheat sheet has some helpful tools.  Such as a full page dedicated to short cut keys, for both Windows and Mac users. However, I felt underwhelmed. The directions included were not substantial and I still didn't understand how to do certain functions after reading. I would have preferred a page dedicated to mapping out what functions/tools are located under each ribbon/tab. That seems to be a universal difficulty with Word: finding where the tool is located to use it.

Overall, this will be as helpful based on each individual's experience has been with Word. Others may find this more useful than myself.

Thank you to i30 Media Corp. (IBPA, Members' Titles) via NetGalley for providing me with the digital review copy.

Incredibly helpful quick reference sheet for those of us (like me) who have to use Word constantly but are not super adept with the functions. It's saved me a few times since downloading it!

I found the keyboard shortcuts the most useful part of this reference. I use word everyday at work but have never taken any formal classes and I was able to pick out a few helpful tips I can incorporate into my work processes. There is a section on references that would be especially helpful for students.

Word’s 2019 desktop reference sheet is a useful tool for someone who knows Word’s capabilities but who doesn’t often employ its less commonly used features. This cheat sheet guides the individual to whatever ribbon menu item is appropriate for the needed tool and gives them the steps necessary to implement that tool.

The cheat sheet’s first page provides guidance on globally setting up a document. There are standard document styles in Word 2019 that are accessible in a dropdown ribbon menu section. However, if you prefer to set up your own document look and style, the reference sheet provides direction to other Word tools that make that possible.

A good portion of the cheat sheet is devoted to the researcher and academic needs such as footnoting, citation, and linking. Also included are instructions for inserting and manipulating images, tables, and merged data.

My favorite cheat sheet page is devoted to keystroke shortcuts. These two and three key command gems provide the fastest means of moving around a document and getting things done. That particular page will be the one exposed on my desktop when I’m next working with Word.

This Word 2019 reference guide saves me time by quickly unlocking program tools needed to more thoroughly put forth my arguments.

Handy Little Guide

This is a 4-page cheat sheet for Microsoft Word. They say it is an intermediate level, but I am not quite sure what distinguishes that from other levels. I use Word every day and have for years, and I know how to do a lot of the things on here because I do them regularly, like working with the ruler, line spacing, styles, and markup. Other things I knew Word did but haven't really worked with before, like references, table of contents generation, citations, and endnotes/footnotes. This cheat sheet tells you very succinctly how to do these, referencing the needed tab you’ll be working with following the title and then giving just a few lines to tell you how to do the task. The final page is keyboard shortcuts, both Mac and PC ones. I love keyboard shortcuts; you don't have to take your hands off the keyboard and use that mouse. If you're a complete Word power user, you probably don't need this. If you're like me, and work with some parts of Word but not others, this little cheat sheet could come in handy for you.

Excellent quick guide to Word in four pages. Perfect for those who are already familiar with Microsoft Word who do not want to wade through a thousand page manual just to remember a particular command.

Are keyboard shortcuts like "Control + C" to copy selected text or "Control + B" for bold text or "Control + S" to save a file new for you? Then this might be worth it, otherwise it is a complete waste of bandwidth downloading it.

Good cheat sheet. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest opinion. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on this review.

As an educator working from home to create lessons for my students, I appreciate all the features of Microsoft Word that are clearly spelled out for me in this reference sheet. I can create user friendly documents to send to students to complete work. One of the features I missed on a previous Word application was the rulers at the top of the page. While I had difficulties locating the "Rulers and Guidelines" boxes in Word, I was able to find it under the search option. I would definitely recommend purchasing this reference sheet and keeping it nearby!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review.
