The story starts with Liz, who had been married to a pastor for 26 years. She's had to maintain the appearance of being a perfect pastor's wife for her family and congregation. This has been difficult for her, as she has been untrue to herself, her need and wants. When her husband Thomas unexpectedly dies of a heart attack, Liz finds herself overwhelmed by feelings of grief, shock, and, surprisingly, the freedom to make decisions for herself. She's hesitant at first to make changes to her life, as her daughter, Abigail, has difficulty seeing her mother in a different and new light. With the help of new friends that she makes in the theater group she joins, she begins to revel in the character she plays, exploring new possibilities and relationships, including a new love interest.

She finds herself pregnant at 49 and experiences conflict between her daughter, Lance, and her soon to be baby son.

I enjoyed this book so much and find myself cheering for Liz through her challenges. A lovely read.

I would like to thank the author, publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
