Another fantastic book in the All In series. King is the goalie for the Seattle NHL. He is as wholesome as they come and doesn’t do one night stands, except for the one time a few months ago. . Queenie has had her fair share of challenges and when she takes the job as her father’s (The general manager of the Seattle NHL team) assistant, she has no idea that she is about to run into her one night stand. They have electric chemistry from the start and it is a challenge to not act of the chemistry that is still there in their current situation. I loved King and his sweetness and abilities to roll with the chaos that Queenie’s world seems to bring. This is a stand alone book, but we also get to catch up with some of our favorites from the previous books. I loved that we got a great scenes with Bishop and Rook, in addition to Violet. I also loved seeing Alex and Violet’s kids, especially Lavender and can’t wait to read more her in the future. I definitely recommend this book!

This book got me out of my COVID-19 slump, probably not the best thing to lead with but 100% truth. Helena Hunting has a way with words and characters that instantly brightens my life. King and Queenie are nothing like I expected and everything I needed. Ryan Kingston is definitely the wholesome milk drinking "boy scout" that we expect from meeting him in previous books. His goodness (for lack of a better term) is reminiscent of Alex Waters in Pucked, asking for consent and being overly considerate of others. Where Alex was wholesome and Canadian and raised to be that way, King is just good, good down to his bones, and his background is colorful and really fun to read about (Don't worry I won't give any spoilers). Queenie as described in the book is a storm. She is a whirlwind and while we know from the blurb that she is the General Manager's daughter, she is so much more. She is a level of controlled chaos that King welcomes into his life and it is everything!

I loved this book so much and I tried to read slowly, take my time but like all of Helena Hunting's books I devoured it in less than 24 hours (would have been one sitting but sleep and work interfered- damn them). The peeks into Alex and Violet's life were present in this book, as they were in other books in the All In series, and I think there were some teasers to future books and future characters embedded into this story, I am crossing my fingers that I am right.

I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley and voluntarily give my review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the first book I've read of the series. I can imagine it would help to read the previous ones, but it was easy enough to learn who the characters were as well as their partners.
I liked that in this story, the female lead was the more sexually proactive character compared to the 'boy scout' male. This doesn't happen often enough and the author wrote them well.
The family support both characters had was a lovely touch and added an extra layer to the story-line.
3.5 stars

This meet-cute is definitely a meet-hot! King and Queenie are such a perfect opposites attract. Queenie's family is heartbreaking knowing her father, Jake, tried his best as a young single father. King has SO much new information to work through and that family dynamic is at times comical and mostly seriously dysfunctional. These two navigate together in a way that neither could have expected.

The queen of sports romance is back with another must-read and continues to shine with her All In series. A Secret for a Secret is another 5-star romance starring a King and a Queenie. There is drama, romance, and captivating characters.

Ryan Kingston, aka King, is a professional hockey player that has his life sorted out. He is organized and level-headed. He never drinks too much and is always in control. He let's go for one night and meets a beautiful woman named Queenie. They take a trip to the bedroom and it's so unexpected.

Queenie is a young woman who is finding out who she is. She has so many dreams but has a hard time sticking to things especially when it starts to get tough. She wants to prove to herself and her dad that she can stand on her own two feet. One night she meets a sexy and shy guy named King and she is a goner.

I love that they bring out the best in each other. King is normally shy and calm but when he is around Queenie he steps out of his comfort zone and will do anything to protect her. King shows Queenie the support that she has never really had from anyone outside of her father. They support each other 100% and it's so adorable.

I give A Secret for 5 stars. It's unputdownable and such a fun read. King and Queenie's love story is so swoon-worthy!!

If you are a fan of Helena Hunting's Pucked series, you will love her new All In series! A Secret for a Secret is the third book in this series, and I loved it! I adored Kingston's straight-laced male character. This is different from most male leads in romance novels, and it was great! The characters were very well-developed and I found myself not wanting this book to end! I can't recommend the All In series enough!!! Fantastic read!

4.5 Stars. This book was exactly what I needed right now; I actually read it in one sitting. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Kingston and Queenie. Kingston and his buttoned up-ness were so cute, although he didn't replace my favorite grump (Hi Bishop!) Also, can we just laugh at Alex and Violet Waters having twins named River and Lavender? And that there was a hand washing scene? I know I can always count on Helena Hunting for a hilarious and heartwarming read; I can't wait for what she writes next for this world.

Thanks to Montlake and Netgalley for my ARC to review.

This book came at a time when I really needed cheering up, and Hunting’s narrative did just that. Warning: drinking hot tea while reading is risky. I spat mine over my PJ bottoms from laughing so hard! But seriously, A Secret for a Secret isn’t all laughs and giggles, it’s a standalone opposites attract hockey romance with just the right amount of angst, swoon-worthy moments and loveable characters. And of course, as it’s book 3 in the All In Series, I got to meet up with my favourite players and their ladies again.

I confess that Bishop Winslow stole my heart in A Favor for a Favor, but now he’s running a close second with Ryan Kingston better-known as King to his mates. This guy is perfect! Not only does he have a calming influence on the entire Seattle NHL team, but he’s also a damn good goalie. Ryan likes to live an orderly life and goes out of his way not to the break rules. I chuckled to myself when he got behind the wheel and ooh my, he surprised the pants off me in the intimate scenes. Naughty man!

But I loved his selflessness, the rapport he has with Bishop and even when a family member rocks the boat, he’s still forgiving. An unforgettable scenario that creased me up was his drink of choice. It isn't exactly what caused the unexpected and although he liked the flavour, it had its consequences! You’ll see why I saluted Ryan for his reaction to a bombshell dropped, too.

“...I want all your dark secrets to be mine to keep. I want all your pieces, all the things that make you who you are…”

I adored the pivotal part of Ryan and Queenie’s story at the beginning of the book...a little embarrassing for them both, their astonishment was tenfold when they met up again. Queenie’s between a rock and a hard place. Poor past decisions and an uncertain future have made this young woman a little bit anxious. Who better than Ryan to give her encouragement, especially seeing she's everything he isn’t. To her negative, he’s positive. She's disorganized, he's quite the reverse. However, she does have a mean sense of humor and watching her come into her own was a pleasure to read. I do so appreciate solid character development, Hunting hitting the nail on the head with everyone's personality traits, their shortcomings and attributes.

“And I’m still sorry about . . . how overzealous I was.”
“I happened to enjoy your overzealousness.”

Am I asking too much for Jake’s book because he really deserves one? I wonder if it was only me who felt something in the air. Queenie’s father is a real charmer and the woman who catches his eye plays such an important role in Ryan’s life, that this would be the bomb.

“You have blinders on when it comes to me, Dad, and I love you for it.”

Lavender, River, all the kids--there are a lot of them in this story, are adorable. Their lives and that of their parents is like a lush voyage. With an imagination like the author's, I'd dance on the spot if there were a second generation series.

“Queenie is a partner. She’s the olive to your pineapple.”
“That sounds awful.”

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Hunting’s captured all the feels, giving her readers a couple of excellent plot twists which I hadn’t bargained for, but were certainly welcomed and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend not just this novel, but the whole All In Series. Bravo!

An emotional and compelling romance, filled with many secrets to be revealed and cherished by two individuals that learn how to fall in love with each other...

So this third installment, has officially stolen my heart and has claimed it! That's right, Kingston... my sexy and very romantic Ryan Kingston has taken a toll of grasping my beating heart and make it beat much faster for all the ways he expresses his admiration towards Queenie. In the little things he does, his blushes, his tenderness, his way of being is what draws you in to him.

Though the title does indeed say it all. Sharing one secret with another is what this story revolves itself around. But once they both open up to each other, breaking down those walls in which reveal the truth of Quennie's past as well as prepare and build a future with Kingston. Everything about Queenie is what truly draws Kingston to wanting more of her, not just because she makes him act like a totally different person when they are intimate involuntarily, but also because her true identity is what makes him fall even deeper in love with her;
"She's a tornado, and half the time I don't know what to do with her, but still want to get caught up in her vortex..."

When obstacles are in the way, Kingston knows to not give up on Queenie because he also knows that there is no going back once he has a claim on her. And Queenie knows that being with Ryan is something she cannot pass out on since her heart is the one who takes over for her and her love for him;
"He's the calm to my storm.
My still lake at dawn.
My king..."

There is no denying at all that Ryan will forever own my heart. I am not sure if this is the last installment in the series, though there are many other hockey players in which have been mentioned that I would love to read a book of. We just have to be patient and see what else Helena has up her sleeves...

Ryan Kingston has been one of my favorite characters in the All In series, so I was very excited to learn he was getting his own book. I was also a little surprised because everyone knows King has had a long term girlfriend forever. I was so curious to find out what went down with Jessica for him to get his own book!

I have to admit that at the start of A Secret for a Secret I was slightly confused. Things with King and Queenie started immediately, and I couldn't help but wonder if I had missed something in the last book? I even went back and read, and I don't think I did. King eventually told me what was up with the whole Jessica thing, but I guess I wanted something more explosive or maybe a Prologue with the information. It wasn't until I knew what had happened that I felt like I could really be own with Queenie and King's story. As for that story...

I loved it. I mean, really loved it. Queenie was this self-professed wild, whirlwind of a gal. Everything about her was messy, and I loved that. Her flaws felt real, which in turn made her come to life off the page. She had a ton of insecurities, but was actually a smart and beautiful woman. People just had her hating on herself. King, on he other hand, was a straight-laced good guy. I could totally identify with his rule following nature. I loved his need for order balanced out with Queenie's haphazardness. Their personalities complimented each other so well. I also loved how they supported each other, especially King supporting Queenie. (I just felt like she needed it more.)

Another great part of this book was all the cameos from previous players. It was nice to see Alex, Violet, Shippy, Stevie, RJ, and Lainey. I also loved the addition of Queenie's dad and King's crazy clan. All of these characters added something special to Queenie and King's relationship. Oh, and I can't leave out the "villains" of this tale. They also added some GREAT drama.

Overall, A Secret for a Secret was a great addition to the All In series. I loved getting King's story and meeting Queenie. They were adorable together. I could have kept reading about them. I am really hoping this is not the end to this series because it's so much fun to read. I need more of these characters!!!

Omg I'm loving this series!! This is book three in the all in series! I've got to tell you I'm "all in" with this series!! I highly recommend reading this book and series!! A few of the books are a tiny bit better than the other but still! They are all so much better than what I've been reading! Definitely don't miss out on this book and series! They're well worth the read! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

One drunken night of fun ends up being more than Ryan "King" Kingston bargains for when the woman of he had the special night with ends up being his hockey team's GM daughter. Queenie has so many more secrets than just her father's identity - and some of those secrets will definitely change her future. But can the girl who is such a hot mess and thinks she has done nothing but disappoint everyone in her life actually find her purpose with King? Can King and his Queen get their fairy tale HEA once her secrets are revealed? The readers cannot help but fall in love with these characters and once the story starts be prepared for an emotional and entertaining roller coaster of a journey. This series has gone 3 for 3 so far and cannot wait for more!

This book has one of the most engaging prologues a have read in a while. It dives right in to an intriguing premise, Kingston's secret is really something and his straight-laced personality juxtaposed to Queenie's free-spirited style makes for a great beginning. After a one night stand a few weeks go by and Queenie and Kingston find each other again, but he plays for the team where she works for her dad, the manager. So, opposites attract with a bit of a forbidden element. A fun book in a moment when we all need a little escape!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5☆ A Secret for a Secret is my new favorite of the series. I love Kingston! He is so different from almost any other hockey player character I have read, and I loved it! He's normally very proper, organized, and by the books, but with Queenie that's not always the case for him. She brings out more sides of him that he doesn't normally show. I loved seeing all sides of him. I especially love how much he cares for Queenie. He's always there for her and giving her encouragement, he's totally swoon-worthy. They say, he's the calm and she's the storm and I couldn't agree more. They fit so perfectly together and are such an adorable couple. I felt really bad for them many times with all the issues that arise, including one major jerkface that I wanted to punch. They're a strong couple though. I'm very sad to see this series come to an end, I have really enjoyed it.

Wow, Kingston & Queenie.....I loved everything about this book! I stayed up way to long because I just couldn’t stop reading. They are just the most amazing couple. I absolutely love King & his Boy Scout personality & how Queenie added chaos to his calm. My favorite quote “I’d rather have her chaos than stay stuck in the calm, where everything is lackluster.”

Really good story.
Quite angsty.
Ex drama from the Hero and heroine.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Forbidden love troupe as she is the managers daughter.
Lots of scenes with previous characters and couples from earlier books in series and other series by this author.
HEA.
Epilogue.

Outstanding! I absolutely loved Queenie and Kingston’s story. This was an all-in read for me. It was fantastic to see a leading male show all the feels. Helena Hunting is always full of surprises and her writing brings me happiness. So needed during this pandemic.

A truly wonderful book with descriptive details that brought me laughter and entertainment.

A. Must. Read.

Wow. I mean, I knew I would enjoy this book because I love Helena Hunting’s writing in general, but I REALLY loved it! I was gripped right from the first page. I just immediately fell in love with the characters and their story. And can I just say, I know we all love a bad boy. But a Boy Scout in the streets politely dirty talking beast in the sheets was a type I didn’t know I needed till Kingston came along. And I LOVE that their main conflict wasn’t that they gave up at the first sign of struggle, as that conflict is very much over used in romance. They didn’t need to break up and get back together to fulfill the tension needed to make a good book. That tension was still there while they stayed together and worked through their problems.

I constantly found myself swooning, laughing, cringing in the best way, and my heart breaking for these characters. I read it in one sitting in under 6 hours. I honestly can’t think of a single critique. As always with Helena Hunting, this book was exactly what I needed. I can’t wait for her next book Kiss My Cupcake, and the next book in this series whenever that’s announced!

I had so much anticipation jumping into this book, that I was sure it couldn't live up to what I had built up in my head. Boy was I ever wrong! WRONG PEOPLE! This book is soooo good! King and Queenie's relationship is everything I wanted for King. We get to discover the depth of why King is how he is, squeaky clean, kind, the best of friends, upstanding. I mean this book boyfriend is perfection and learning about him is simply delicious. Enter Queenie the tornado, sit back and enjoy the show. I didn't think Darren could be bumped from my number one spot... Well leave it to King to calmly show him up!

I was dreading having to say goodbye to this series. I fell in love with this spin off universe of the Pucked series with A Lie for A Lie. Well always trust Helena Hunting, she's already said we aren't done with the Pucked Universe, but I'm ok now leaving Rook, Shippy and King, I know they will be ok. They will be loved and they will love like they deserve.

You will laugh, like only Helena can make you laugh. If you are a fan of her universe, there are plenty of nudges and winks to past characters. Shippy and Stevie, Rook's family, they all come out to play. This was the perfect ending to the All In Series. Now bring on the story of Lavender!

I knew King’s book was going to be great, but I didn’t know just how GREAT! He is a controlled mess of polo shirts, too safe driving, and practicality. Queenie is just the chaos he needs, while she needs someone who thinks her chaos is beautiful, which he does. I am so in love with these two, and while my heart broke for everything they had to overcome, their love story had me smiling and happy. A spectacular book!
