This is such a good read. I thoroughly enjoyed it, as I did the first book in the series 'Gone' and I'd strongly reading that first. This is a solid, stand alone thriller, but, you'll be missing out if you don't read 'Gone' first. Particularly, as, I reckon there's a third book in this series and it's well worth the investment of reading them all.

It's so well written and had me interested from the get go. There's an explosion at an army ball and then only 3 or 4 ambulances turn up at the hospital and a high ranking official, Captain Harry Peterson goes missing. What follows is a rabbit warren of a mystery, with many twists and turns.

The characters are all well rounded and the plot extensive and it's such a page turner.

I’ve enjoyed Gone a few months ago and needed to read this book as well.
Same fast-paced, well written and a suspenseful story full of interesting characters and twists and turns that made me doubt my theories do many times with each new chapter.
Some people are willing to go to an unimaginably extent for power and money.
After an explosion at the military gala, Captain Harry is missing for 3 days and ends up with amnesia in another hospital. His girlfriend tries to find out what’s happening but someone is trying to keep them away from the truth. Now starts a hide and seek game where many secrets are unveiled but also many questions remain unanswered.
I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.

An excellent story that will have you guessing until the very last page about who did what to whom and why. I thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn and surprise and would suggest reading this book when you are not going to be disturbed so that you do not miss any of the nuances that make up this intricate plot.

I really enjoyed Lost. It is filled with so many twists to keep you going and on edge throughout. Normally, I enjoy a fast-paced thriller, but this was well-paced and keep me on tenterhooks. If you haven’t read the first book in the series (like me), I do think this book is great as a standalone. I will be reading the first book in this series, Gone, at some point in the near future. If you’re a fan of thrillers and crime, you will enjoy this book!

Equally as fascinating and gripping as the first novel. Hard to put down once you start reading.
So many twists and turns, it's hard to follow where the story is going . . . and that makes it such a good read.

A novel concept about the deliberate erasure of a person's memories leading to a mystery of who did it and why.

While this is the second book in a series featuring the main investigative team of Dr. Bloom and Marcus and their returning nemesis seraphine, the book would still work well as a standalone novel since it is not reliant on knowledge of the earlier book.

I preferred the earlier book Gone but Lost is still an enjoyable read, a novel concept, and a compelling mystery.

Ok normally I don’t like military based thrillers but I’m really liking these Dr Bloom stories. In this book a bomb goes off during a party and Captain Harry Peterson goes missing. When he is eventually found he has no recollection of anything that has happened. Can they get to the bottom of the mystery before things take a very dangerous turn and is Harry and Dr Bloom in more danger than they realise?

An explosion at a military ball begins the second novel from Leona Deakin's Augusta Bloom series - and the intrigue starts when one of the ambulances doesn't arrive at the hospital where all the other casualties have been transported. Captain Harry Petersen was injured in the explosion - but where is he now? His frantic girlfriend, Karene, contacts her old friend Augusta Bloom for help. But what will unfold is beyond anything any of them might have imagined...

I loved the first book in this series, and I was really excited to read the next instalment. This is another well-written, well-paced, and cleverly plotted novel. I love the ongoing, continually developing relationship between Augusta and Marcus, and I enjoyed that Seraphine featured in this novel, too (though not enough for my liking! I'm fascinated by her - she's very much a Villanelle figure: sexy, unrepentant, and very much the star of the show). I really enjoyed the exploration of psychopathy. in the first book, and the second novel keeps that plot going, but somewhat on the back burner, while instead dealing with the rather more prevalent more sobering issue of human trafficking. While I was dying for more Seraphine and wanted more about the network of psychopaths, I realise that's just me being greedy and the author does a masterful job of keeping that plot point quietly going, while focusing on other themes. I can't help looking forward to the third book even more than the first two - if it further investigates the genius original premise of the first novel and expands on the relationships we've seen develop in the second, as well as bringing in more about the network of psychopaths Seraphine is masterfully co-ordinating in both books, it's going to be an absolute blinder of a novel, and I for one can't wait. Leona Deakin is one of my new favourite authors, and I'm really excited to see what she does next.

Having thoroughly enjoyed Gone, I was curious as to whether this second Dr Bloom book would be as good.

I didn't have to wait long to see that it is just as intriguing and well written, jumping straight into the action from the very beginning. My only reservation was that the plot was a little unbelievable but that didn't detract from my enjoyment of this book. Although it can be read as a standalone book, I feel that reading Gone first would make this all the more interesting as you will have had a better introduction to Augusta, Marcus and Seraphina.

I look forward to book 3!

I really enjoyed the story and the authors way of writing . Entertaining and twisted , everything I love In a book !!I would like to read more by this author !!

After finishing GONE and loving it so much, I rushed to read the next addition, LOST. This is not something I usually do – I tend to not series one after the other, and intermingle other books in between.

The storyline for LOST I found to be very different. Military at the core with a slap bang beginning. It took me a while to get into the story and the new characters. And for a while I missing the same psychopathic thread which I found in GONE. The second half of the book improved a lot for me, once I had settled in to it.

Trying to match a debut like GONE was never going to be easy, and I think GONE will remain one of my most favourite reads. But LOST was an enjoyable read, and it stands well on its own merit.

Another excellent story from Leona Deakin. Great exercise for my brain trying to sort out the various threads in the story. Very good characters whose interactions moved the action along at a fast pace. I do enjoy happy endings!

I very much enjoyed the first Dr Bloom book and thought this was a great follow up. I thought the storyline was inventive and intriguing and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and seeing what would happen next. I enjoy the characters of Dr Bloom and Marcus and I look forward to the next instalment. I liked how the book had ongoing themes from the first book but was an independent story in itself. Highly recommend this series.

Several months after the shocking conclusion of the first book, it is clear that Dr Bloom and Marcus have not reconciled what happened with Seraphina. However, when Dr Bloom is approached by an old friend to track down her partner, Dr Bloom calls in her owed favour from Marcus and the pair work together to untangle just what has happened to Captain Harry Peterson.
What follows is a tangled web of intrigue and lies, complicated by Harry's memory loss and the involvement of the British army. Throw in an appearance by Seraphina and the fragile truce in the relationship between Dr Bloom and Marcus seems even more precarious. It's a fast-paced, international crime to solve, and the involvement of Seraphina conjures up some delicious "Killing Eve" vibes. It starts to become clear that the crime involving Harry is part of a much bigger picture, and the foundations for the continuation of series are being established. I for one am definitely looking forward to seeing where this will go.

I think I preferred this book to the first in the series. The seraphine walker character from the first book doesn't really work for me but in this book there is plenty of other action.

When I read Leona Deakin’s first novel I was hooked she is a genius writer so when this book landed I was hoping it would be as good it is better
The novel follows a Psychologhist Dr Augusta Bloom and her sidekick ex forces Marcus Jameson
They are asked by an old friend of Augusta to investigate a bombing at a military ball where her boyfriend was caught in the blast but only had minor injuries when his girlfriend rushes off to help another casualty she returns to where her boyfriend was and he isn’t there in the distance she sees him being pushed into an ambulance. But when she checks he isn’t in any of the local hospitals so where is he?
An amazing journey that takes us half way across the world and back but will they find him unharmed?

Another brilliant Dr Bloom novel. I love the twists and turns in these books and I never see what is coming. The characters are fascinating and especially Seraphine, she is such a brilliant creation. Highly recommended #NetGalley#LostBook

Augusta Bloom is called in by an old friend to find her partner, a naval officer who is missing after a suicide bombing at a naval base. She is joined reluctantly by her former colleague who hasn't yet forgiven her for subjecting him to a bruising encounter with their psychopathic bete noir, Seraphina. The officer turns up but has lost all his memory of the last four years. It soon becomes obvious that someone is still out to get him and also that Seraphina is somehow involved. The intricate plot is a tad implausible at times but basically its a ripping yarn - a really good thriller that you won't want to put down.
