This is a new author for me and I felt the book was well written but I did not love it. My issue was the two main characters. I did not really like them. I actually liked the supporting characters more than the leads, Meg and both louisa were scene stealers.

This is a story about the Duke, Rhys and he is a rake but he didnt seem to have any redeeming qualities. He treated the heroine awful. On her 18th birthday he knows she has a crush on him and he gets it on with a widow at the birthday. Gross! Then for 5 years he never apologizes.

In his time away he pretty much does anything with anyone he can and when he is called home he only seeks Bella out to ask for some favors. She is only slightly better. She is cold and very judgemental and I did not like her either.

I quit at about 50% because I really did not like them at all. The book was well written but I really hated the lead characters.

I adore Christy Carlyle’s books. This book swept me away from the beginning the main characters were perfectly flawed. They felt so real I was captivated by their love story, I will say I wish there had been more danger. The antagonist felt very lightly formed and the resolution too quick and predictable. I loved the nods to feminism in a time where women held very little value beyond what they could provide in the home, the prose was excellent and the cadence of the words superb. I didn’t feel that this book led into another one. No character felt as though they were heading towards their own book . Overall, I truly loved one I will definitely be buying this book when it is released in May, Thank you for the opportunity to read and give my feedback ion this prerelease edition of Nothing Compares to the Dukes by Christy Carlyle,
