I chose Ms. Kapp's book because my family has just experienced a great loss. My uncle was very dear to me, but also my dad's best friend, his wife's soul mate and his daughter's friend. He mentored so many throughout his life. This book is both a comfort and a textbook for looking around you and SEEING in the every day.

There are a number of books out on this subject. This is an honest look into mediums and what they discover, and are able to convey. For me this seems to be a beginners look, meaning that if you have not read much in this field, it is a good introduction. Having a lot of experience reading this genre, I did not find any new insights or revelations. A good book, but not at the level I was hoping for.

This is an interesting book and highly recommended for those who have lost loved ones to death. Even if you don't believe in "channeling" souls who have passed, this book can give you comfort. I liked that the author did not claim a monopoly on connecting with the deceased and encourages her readers to be open to communications from loved ones themselves.

Most of us have have something "odd" happen after a loved one has died, and this book affirms and attempts to explain those odd occurrences. The book offers many anecdotes of experiences of connecting with dead loved ones, along with narrative to categorize and introduce the different kinds of experiences.

This book would be particularly helpful for those who have lost loved ones suddenly or to suicide.
