I’m afraid to say the only word for this collection of short stories is clunky. Everything is very over the top and as a result, there’s never a sense of natural rhythm to the words. It feels like a comedy sketch, rather than a real adventure. So… yeah. I wanted to like this as a big time Warhammer fan but hey, sometimes nostalgia ain’t enough.

Gotrek and Felix should be familiar to anyone who grew up playing Warhammer Fantasy. Of all the Black Library stories, these are some of the best (particularly lean in Fantasy as opposed to 40K). This is the omnibus collecting the first three stories in the series. If you've not read them, or want to reread from the start, then this is the place to start.

I picked this up out of an interest in the old warhammer fantasy games and I was rather pleased with it. I like gotrek and felix as characters and they get up to some fun adventures.
Overall an ok read, but it drags some in places. The short stories connect well and its nice to see the width and breadth of the old warhamer fantasy world, but some of the stories could have been shorter or moved faster. Some just really felt dragged out. The books set in the Karak 8 peaks were excellent, the one where they go on a quest for a flower, not as much.

Thanks to netgalley for a chance to read this!
Overall a solid read. 3 stars, would read more.

The first three Gotrek and Felix books in one bind up. I love this series and am happy I got to read this. I thank Net Galley and Black Library for making this available for request. If you are new to Warhammer, pick this one up and be eased into the Old World setting.

Fantasy has become my preferred read, other then humor I can’t think of a better way to escape the troubles of this world than to immerse myself in a fantasy world. I really wanted to like this book but ended up disappointed; the only reason I finished is because it was a NetGalley pick.

The only full length novel is the last book in the omnibus, the rest is a series of short stories. There’s no real character development and so much repetition that it’s inane.

1/5 STARS: I received an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. I sincerely thank Netgalley, author and/or publisher for giving me this opportunity.**
