This is the first book I have read by Marcia Willett, and I am excited to read more from this author. Seven Days in Summer is set at the idyllic English beachside, which was a delight for an Anglophile like me. This character-driven novel looks at a multi-generational family's annual beach trip and how individual challenges and triumphs intersect. It's a great summer read.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Really really enjoyed this book. It was a light easy read. I felt invested in the characters and loved the setting by the sea. It's everything I love about end of summer get togthers with friends and a little love story too. Some sadness, a little mystery, family dynamics, and summer fun. It's set in in the UK and has references to a children's book which I promptly researched and purchased for my toddler. In my opinion, it's a good book when it inspires you to purchase another referenced in the book. It had fantastic quotes and great pace. I wanted to keep reading and enjoy summer with them all by the sea.

I love Marcia Willett books. Couldn't wait to read this book.

Another wonderful book. It follows a week at a beach in England a traditional get together for these people at the same time of year. They have parties, and day events. They have been friends or many years and apparently have secrets among each other. The week brings that all to ahead.

Another engaging book.

I always love reading Marcia Willett books and am looking forward to her next one.

I enjoyed this book - it was an easy read with a set of characters that was interesting and a plot which was not too difficult to follow. I appreciated the writing style and liked that Willett wrote from the perspectives of more than one character. I didn't find the plot to be the most engaging, however, the setting and various characters made up for the lack of a totally enthralling plot.

Willett's writing is comforting and I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a light and easy summer read.

Lovely summer read set in Cornwall, reminded me of a slightly more modernized version of The Shell Seekers. Perfect for fans of Maeve Binchy. This is a gentle love story that explores motherhood and marriage on the golden shores of Cornwall. While not fast paced, I enjoyed this as a slow, leisurely summer read!

A nice vacation book. I like how the author introduced us to each of the characters separately at the beginning. There are a lot in the book, so that helped to keep them all straight. I especially liked the character Liv. She has a lot of irons in the fire, work, husband, small twins, but she manages to keep it all together. Her husband, Matt, is kind of a doofus. Her twin brother, Andy, is nice too, smart.

I saw a beautiful cover of this book on Netgalley and wanted to read it , was approved , The story was ok , it seemed the landscape and beauty was what drew me in. Matt and Liv are a couple whom seem to be falling out of love , spend a week apart , in the end they are back together but I didn't feel the emotions I should with a love story , some of the other characters like Baz gave the story a little more depth.

Another great book by AmyClipston. A young Amish girl Salina is selling her vegetables at a stand in the market. A young Mennonite man Will who runs the restaurant across the street has decided to buy local produce and comes in and buys most of her produce. They become closer S time goes by but they are both seeing other people. Salina who is the bishops daughter has been seeing Josiah but she is struggling if he is the one she should marry. Or is it just that they have been friends since childhood and this is whom the families think should marry. Will has been dating Caroline and she expects them to marry. Will is struggling with his decision and hurting Caroline. Will they follow their hearts ? Will one change their faith? What is Gott 's will ? Thank you NetGally for allowing me to read and review this book..

This title has a whirlwind romance and an almost disintegration of a marriage plus a few more relationship issues fleshed out in the course of 7 days.

A delightful read with several lovely characters, a few that you want to hate, and a wonderful setting.

This is a lovely story of family and finding love. It’s is a light beach read that I enjoyed immensely. It is nice to read something warm and full of fun and family. I could picture The Beach Hut and I would love to go stay there if it was real. The characters were an eclectic bunch and I enjoyed the parts of the book where the had get together and the dynamics of the various relationships. This book made me feel good and that is just what I needed at this time. Nothing heavy or sad, just a feel good book about finding new love and rekindling old love. I have read many books by this author and she never disappoints.

This was an interesting book that left me feeling conflicted. On the one hand, it could have been a sweet story of several generations of family / friends spent at the beach during a summer break - nostalgic, cheerful, exciting, purposeful and inspiring. On the other hand, it seemed every single person had a secret - illegal activities in the past; lust for another friend while harboring disdain for their own spouse; a potential infidelity in marriage with one spouse that couldn't attend the beach week due to "work constraints"; the writing off / disowning of one adult child due to her sexual preferences, etc. I really found most of the people in the book simply deplorable. It was hard for me to really feel the connection with the book because the characters were so unlikable.

This book follows the events of 7 days at the beach in England - it is an annual tradition for these people to come to the beach at the same time each year. There are the routine parties (everyone has a party at the same time during this vacation - Baz always holds the opening party the first night; Janet & her husband always hold the BBQ another day, etc). These people have been friends for a long time and apparently they have many secrets among each other. The relationships seemed very superficial and fake - it didn't make me like the people very much at all. Maybe outside of this beach setting, each person can be quite pleasant - but we weren't able to see that (except for the one spouse who almost cheated on his wife - so maybe they aren't so nice after-all).

It's a short read that can be done in a day. I was provided this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

While this isn't one of my favorite Marcia Willett novels, it is still a good read! Willett doesn't disappoint in this warm, character-based novel that takes place during a week in Devonshire.

Liv sets off on a two week holiday with her twins and her father in law, Baz, at his holiday home by the sea while her husband remains behind to run their restaurant. We meet a variety of Baz's friends and Liz's family and an interesting person from her past. These character's aren't as well developed as in previous books, but it is a fun summer read!

Thank you NetGalley for the e-Arc.

As usual, a Marcia Willett novel is a joy and is like a cozy visit with dear friends, some old. - some new. I was sad for this one to come to and end. Many thanks to NetGalley

Always a treat to slip into Marcia Willett's world. The coast, sand, sea, moors, cups of tea, cozy dinners. I think we would all love to live that life. As usual this book has a few new characters and we are given the chance to be reacquainted with some characters familiar from previous books.
