Immortal Angel is the 31st book in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands. I lost track of this series ten books or so ago, but saw it on Netgalley and figured I would give it a read. You do not need to have read the series to enjoy this book, but having read a few of them will help understand the worldbuilding that has been done and some returning characters.

For almost two centuries, Ildaria Garcia has been on the run, a trouble magnet with a knack for taking down bad guys. Lately, her vigilante tendencies have drawn unwelcome attention to her fellow Immortals. Forced to relocate, Ildaria is supposed to lay low in a new town. Instead, she quickly entangles herself with six and a half feet of muscular, tattooed trouble. Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, aka G.G., knows a lot about Immortals—enough to make him wary. Yet from the moment Ildaria walks into his club, he feels desire stronger than anything he’s known. Accepting the fact that they might be life mates is disconcerting. But when her past catches up to them, G.G. faces a choice—confront his demons at last, or lose a passion that’s hot as hell.

Immortal Angel is exactly what I remember from reading this series years ago. Ildaria is a strong person, dealing with trauma and fear in her own way. Her biggest fault is her difficulty in accepting, never mind asking for, help. G.G. is equally strong and independent, with a matching need to protect those around him. I liked watching these two get to know each other and find their way to happy compromise before the dangers even really arise. Although there was on point at which his decision making without her input, or any communication at all really, bothered me tremendously. I thought the danger elements were well done, but to be honest I fully expected another twist or attempt to hurt one or both of them to pop up. The story did not need it, but I was still half expecting it. As a lapsed reader of this series, it was nice seeing a good number of the characters I remember take supporting roles here.It was an enjoyable and nostalgic read for me.

Immortal Angel is a good addition to a long running series that long time, returning, and new readers can enjoy.

I did not know mohawks could be hot until Lynsay Sands wrote about a hot guy in Immortal Angel named G.G. aka “Green Giant”.

I thought Immortal Angel was going in a full-blown action adventure direction from the opening sequence, but instead it is a sweet romance. Sands deals with some dark material which might be a trigger for some readers as Ildaria is a survivor of child sexual abuse. This subject is dealt with in detail and there is a graphic scene that may make some readers squirm and others cheer Ildaria on.

I love the overall story of G.G. and Ildaria as their romance is a slow-burn one and Sands lets them get to know each other. This is not to say that there are not some steamy scenes in between, remember they are lifemates in this Argeneau novel.

Immortal Angel is a quick read. If you are looking for an escape from the stressful world around you, escape into Lynsay Sands latest book: Immortal Angel.

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

The book starts with a kick ass angel coming to the rescue of an FBI agent, but the book doesn't go with the FBI guy.
The real story is an immortal woman on the run for two hundred years who finally meets her life mate who is mortal and owns a bar for immortals. Surprising resolutions including a clever mother's machinations to turn her son, which are very funny and a dog too cute to be a dog.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

What does every vampire on the run need? Besides a leather outfit and butt kicking moves? That is the question that Ildaria Garcia has never thought to ask. After 200 years of being on the run, she is used to taking care of herself. But that all changes when she meets the Argeneau clan and G.G., her mortal life-mate. Soon Ildaria wants to put down roots, but will her past destroy it all?
Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, or as he is more commonly known, G.G., knows about immortals but doesn't want to be turned. After a traumatic event in his past, G.G. has no interest in living anything more than his mortal life, regardless if he finds an immortal life-mate. When he meets Ildaria and her past comes racing into the present, G.G. will have determine if he too can face down is past to save his future.
While this book is part of a series, it can read as a stand alone.

Immortal Angel by Lynsay Sands is book 31 in the Argeneau Series. This is the story of Ildaria and Joshua "G.G.". I have read the previous book but I do feel this can be a standalone if you choose to do so. Ildaria was attacked when she was younger and she ended up becoming a Immortal. Ildaria has turned into a fighting immortal taking down the bad guys. When she has compromised herself and possible others she is relocated to a small town to lay low and work at a somewhat normal job at a club. This leads her to meet her new boss G.G who is also a immortal. G.G. knows that he is drawn to Ildaria but has took the path to fight his feelings. Ildaria is a strong women who doesn't have much experience in the bedroom but that doesn't stop her attempts to be more to G.G. Of course their path isn't easy...especially when Ildaria past comes back for her. I am such a fan of Ms. Sands that I would highly recommend her writing because she just draws you into her story's.

So this series is good for the simple fact you can jump in where ever you want and me ok. You could read them out of order and be just fine too. I've only read books 30, 27, 16, and 23. Then I dove into this book next, and it was ok but it wasn't amazing either. I this the start was good, the ending was ok, but the middle was just meh. Some parts dragged out, some parts where not necessary, and then some were awful.. I'll keep trying them but this was just so so for me.

4.5 stars

This is the thirty-first book in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands.

I am not certain if I have ever read a Lynsay Sands book but I was aware of this popular author and wanted to give this book a try. I have to say, I was not disappointed. Even though this is only 327 pages, it felt a lot longer. I could tell Sands really packed in all the details she could into this complex and fascinating read.

I guess this is more of a romance than anything else. Ildaria aka Angel is an Immortal turned into an Immortal by accident when she was fourteen. She has been on the run from this handsome landowner who turned her for 200 years. She is on the road to getting a degree in accounting but keeps having to drop her classes in order to keep herself safe. She ends up getting a job with G.G. (stands for Green Giant, real name is Joshua Simpson). Turns out that GG is her life mate. Immortals can read minds but she can’t read his since he is her life mate. But there is a problem, GG doesn’t want to be an immortal…. not ever.

This was a great read. It keeps your interest all the way through and I was really digging this whole Immortal world concept where the immortal is kept that way through nanites in their blood.

I am blown away that this author was able to already have thirty one books in this series. THIRTY-ONE! Wow! What an accomplishment. Definitely going to try and read more of these. They are rather addicting.

If you love a good paranormal romantic suspense mystery, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

Absolutely entertaining!!! The 31st installment of the Argeneau Series follows Joshua “G.G.” Guiscard and Ildaria Garcia, both of which we met in previous books and are fantastic characters. They follow the standard immortal/moral romance formula, which still works oh so well. You know what they say, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”, well that perfectly applies to this series. The love story journey is so sweet and the subplot, which is a continuing storyline from a previous book, is interesting with a nice twist. There is a perfect balance between the love story and action storyline. I will not get into any specifics to avoid spoilers for this book as well as previous books but just know that it is a terrific, entertaining story with a fabulous couple, and you should DEFINITELY read this book and this series.

Please note, I received this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

When I picked up the first book in this series years ago, I fell in love with these Immortals from the lost world of Atlantis (they are Immortals, not vampires...please remember this...it upsets some of them to be referred to as vampires). I laughed and swooned while reading that book and couldn't wait to read the next one.

This is the 31st book in the series and I still feel the same way. After I finish the book, I say bring on the next one. One of the best parts of the series is they can be read out of order. Lynsay does a great job of setting the back story at the start of each book so you know where they are from. I do recommend reading the entire series if you can, you will love them all.

This story is about Ildaria Garcia she has only been an immortal for a few hundred years, this is young in immortal years. She is working on getting her college degree but keeps getting into hot water. When the head of the immortals Lucien has had enough, he calls her to Canada so he can keep an eye on her.

She starts working in the immortal bar and meets Joshua (GG) Guiscard a mortal that has two immortal parents. She soon realizes that GG is her lifemate but her past is coming for her and it just might end up a bit of a love triangle...wait to see what happens.

These are such fun paranormal romance reads. I have read them all multiple times and recommend them to readers all of the time. I can't wait for #32!

Thank you Netgalley and Harper Collins for allowing me to read this book in advance. This review is my own and given freely.

IMMORTAL ANGEL is the thirty-first book in the “Argeneau” vampire series by Lynsay Sands. Ildaria Garcia is a woman with a complicated past that has forged her into somebody who is incredibly strong. Because of her tumultuous past, she can’t help getting involved if she sees somebody who needs help, Especially if it’s a woman in danger. In Montana, she got in trouble with the Immortal “powers that be” for basically being Batman and drawing attention to herself, and therefore other immortals. Rather than execute her, they shipped her out to Toronto for a restart. She winds up working for the very dishy, but decidedly mortal (yet friend and family to immortals) G.G. Guiscard. The bulk of this book focuses on Ildaria and G.G. getting to know each other and deal with their surprising mutual attraction.

Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, aka G.G., is a tall, green mohawk-ed, all-around nice guy, business owner, and the son of a woman who turned into an immortal. Seeing her transition scarred him and left him very reluctant to ever turn into an immortal himself. Until Ildaria walks into his life and works her way into his heart. Despite his rough exterior with his colorful hair, tattoos, and size, and occupation as a vampire nightclub owner, G.G. is a sweet and down-to-earth guy who is a great listener. He is exactly the kind of man Ildaria needs. Finding out he could be a possible life mate for her, when he is not inclined to give up being a mortal, is a definite wrench in the works. I love the banter between this couple, their chemistry, their patience with each other. Everybody around them offers advice about how to proceed with their relationship but, in the end, they go at their own speed. The sexy vibe comes after they’ve worked with and gotten to know each other better. There is some element of danger toward the end, but it doesn’t go on for an extended period.

IMMORTAL ANGEL is a romcom with a kickass vampire heroine, a sensitive mortal hottie, and a little danger thrown in. This is my favorite type of story – when it’s more relationship-focused. I like how G.G. wasn’t judgmental when Ildaria revealed her past, and how they were both very accepting of each other the way they are. Lynsay Sands did a good job of balancing background info on the main characters with everything going on in the present. I look forward to reading Lynsay Sands’ next paranormal romance.

I was so excited for this book - two characters that I got to know in previous books in the series now come together!! This was one of my favorite of the more recent books in the series because I loved Angelina/Ildaria the pirate that is just trying to survive (CW for childhood abuse and sexual assault). She is so strong, but also just trying to protect herself.

G.G. has immortal parents and runs 2 nightclubs for immortals, but refuses to be turned. When he and Ildaria meet there is a connection but also misunderstandings. The relationship that develops is slower than usual between life mates and the normalization of therapy and getting help to be healthy in a relationship made this book even better in my opinion. Sands knocked it out of the park with this one.

This book was a long time coming! I'm so happy we get to watch G.G., who has been a rock for other immortals, finally find an immortal who chases him.

Ildaria, the ex-pirate wench, ex-roommate of some main character immortals, has also finally gotten the starring role. She is still trying to get her accounting degree, but has run upon an issue. Seems her magical ability to attract (and subsequently put an end to) trouble has gotten her some viral attention. Lucien puts her on lockdown, essentially, but the matchmaker extraordinaire ends up pushing her in G.G.'s direction.

G.G. has some baggage, but so does Ildaria. She's on the run from someone she attacked in self defense, but he is just running from the expectations of his immortal family. Together, they make a wonderfully dysfunctional couple that I loved. While the wrap-up of this book comes pretty quick, I enjoyed the adorably bad first impressions and misunderstandings between these two. I could read 100 of these books and never get tired of this world and the quirky characters it has.

Can you believe this is the 31rst book in this series. It’s amazing that after so many books you still have fresh idea’s.
I’ve been waiting for our favorite green Mohawk giant G.G. To get his own book for a while. And it’s finally here. Ildaria just can’t see to stay out of trouble until she meets G.G. Marquerite is up to her old matchmaking tricks.
Lynsey Sands is always good for a great laugh out loud great story.

Ildaria is a vampire who gets herself in trouble more than once because she has a habit of playing vigilante and saving humans. She's supposed to stay out of trouble and not bring attention to herself so that humans ask questions, but trouble seems to finds her.

Ildaria meets G.G. and when his dog doesn't try to bite her like he does everyone else, he hires her to dog sit and be his accountant. She really needs the job so she's happy to have it.

G.G. owns a bar that immortals frequent so he knows about them but doesn't want to be turned into one like his mother was when she found her lifemate. This is problematic when Ildaria realizes that G.G. is her lifemate and he's not going to be thrilled with that. They have shared dreams where he just thinks that he's dreaming about her and doesn't realize that she's actually really there with him.

When he realizes that he's her lifemate, they sit down and tell each other about their lives, start dating, taking things slow because of the brutal way she had been turned and get to know each other really well. Things are going really well for them and their relationship when the guy who turned her starts sending enforcers to bring her back to him even though the guy in charge where she lives tells him to back off. It turns out the guy that's after her for revenge is an important person in the immortal council which governs the enforcers. The enforcers are like police for the immortals sent by the immortal council, sent to hunt down rogue immortals who misbehave and break the rules.

But things aren't always the way we think they are and that's the case for Ildaria too. So when her nemesis comes to town and she has a chance to face him once and for all, things don't go as she thought they would.

I loved this book. Just when I thought I knew what would happen, I was thrown a huge twist that changed the end of the story but it really gave this book a great ending.

Disclosure: I was given an ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lynsay Sands has long been one of my all-time favorite authors and the one with which I fell in love with the vampire paranormal genre! I have always found her unique perspective on how vampires could co-exist amongst us on a daily basis without being the soul-sucking monsters of popular myth but rather as productive members of society, abiding by the laws of humanity as well as being governed by their own Council with its strict guidelines and rules to have to adhere to as well, to be not only refreshingly original but a concept that has withstood the test of time quite well! I have read every one of the Argeneau Vampire books and loved them all!! There is always action, drama, snarky humor, and love in the form of a life-mate to be found within the pages of each book that will surely satisfy even the most resistant and skeptical of the genre, inevitably adding another member to the ranks of those already firmly ensconced as true fans of author Lynsay Sands!!

Lynsay Sands returns to the Argeneau/Immortal series with Ildaria Garcia, who readers met in Vampires Like It Hot. Ildaria now lives in Canada and is trying to be an accounting student at the local university. But she has a tendency to not look the other way when fellow students get attacked and that makes staying under the radar in the time of cell phone cameras difficult. When she gets a job at the Night Club and meets owner Joshua "G.G." Guiscard, all thoughts of vigilantism fly away: G.G. is her life mate. The problem is, G.G. knows enough about immortals and becoming one to know he doesn't want to turn. Will he even accept the idea of being life mates? Then Ildaria's past comes back to haunt her and they both have some tough decisions to make.

G.G. is a kind and thoughtful man, an excellent listener, and the perfect partner for Ildaria. He's also a delightful physical contrast that Sands plays up for the smile factor: a large man with tattoos and a huge green mohawk who's completely devoted to a tiny, slightly neurotic, Bichonpoo. In many ways Ildaria seems the younger of the two, despite being centuries older, because she's spent her life on the run from the immortal who turned her and has missed out on living the 'normal' life she is now trying for. At the same time, those experiences have made Ildaria a careful and capable fighter and you wonderhow long it will be before the Enforcers convince her to join them as a Rogue Hunter. She pulls no punches protecting herself and those who can't protect themselves and, quite rightly, never apologizes for doing what needs to be done.

Immortal Angel changes pace from many of the books in the Argeneau series: instead of constantly being in danger, running from danger, and trying to fight danger, Ildaria and G.G. get a slower paced story that focuses on their growing relationship. The pacing works. Both have childhood traumas to work through and those traumas aren't things that can be shrugged off. Getting to focus on themselves and the issues that stand between them as life mates makes their relationship deeper and makes the reader highly invested in the outcome. Lynsay Sands brings some difficult issues to the table- Ildaria's past is full of sexual abuse- and in my opinion Sands did a thoughtful and respectful job of handling possible triggers and the coping mechanisms Ildaira has had to develop over the centuries, but which would ring true to many humans today. There is still delightful humor and lighter moments run through Immortal Angel: readers will definitely enjoy the damage she shows can be done to large bad guys with a pair of metal heeled high-heel shoes.

Readers new to the series will enjoy the sweetly developing romance between Ildaria and G.G., their combustible chemistry, and their determination to get to know each other before jumping into a relationship. Interfering friends, motherly manipulation, Immortals dealing with the constant presence of cell phone cameras, and a Bichonpoo who eats everything he shouldn't when left alone add humor along the way. Long-time series readers will enjoy cameos by other characters, and get to wrap up some of the problems Ildaria encountered in South America during Vampires Like It Hot without throwing off new readers.

An excellent addition to a delightful series, and a fun read for everyone.

Ildaria Garcia has always seemed to attract trouble. She’s been on the run for nearly 200 years after a traumatizing event in her youth and in that time has developed a habit of helping those in dire situations and taking out would-be criminals. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been camouflaging her superhuman abilities as well as she should during her vigilante activities and has drawn too much attention to the Immortals. Now she’s caught the notice of the Council and must relocate once again and try to stay out of trouble in a different city, where she finds herself in a totally different sort of entanglement with the owner of the local Immortal night club.

Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, better known as G.G. because of his 6’5” frame and signature green Mohawk, knows plenty about Immortals since his mother and stepfather are Immortals themselves. G.G. is slightly wary of Immortals, but instantly and fiercely attracted to Ildaria. He’s a bit alarmed to learn they could be possible life mates, as he’s always wanted to remain mortal. When the past she ran from finds her in Toronto, G.G. must decide what he’s willing to do to stay by Ildaria’s side, forever.

The books in this series seem to be either his or miss for me, but this one was a hit. I loved G.G. as the gentle giant hero with a fluffy white dog. It was just adorable to me. He and Ildaria were such an odd pairing but they were adorable together. I appreciated that this was relatively low on angst and G.G. and Ildaria were quick to communicate with each other openly rather than try to play games. There was a great twist here that didn’t go the way I expected it to, and I found G.G.’s mother and her sly manipulations of the men in her life to be hilarious. Ildaria’s gaining of a family after so long on her own was also very sweet, almost as much so as her growing to trust G.G. I think this story flowed well and it was a nice feel good read for me.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A human with a mother that is a vampire, G.G. was first met in a previous book. He runs a bar that is for vampires only and even though his mother wants him to be immortal he refuses to be turned. Of course, he has his reasons. When a beautiful woman comes into his bar he is inexplicably drawn to her. He hires her and gives her an apartment to live in above the bar, one that makes her his new neighbor. That’s the set up for Lynsay Sands latest book about the Argeneau family of vampires and certainly was the delight for me this time.

The Argeneau family are the elite of the vampire world and based in Toronto. These vampires are not the vampires of old, instead they hail from Atlantis and only survived due to their scientists finding a way to keep their people in good health by changing their body. It ended up doing more than just giving them good health, they are instead immortal. They must drink blood to live however, and they certainly never died like the vampires in most stories did. They do have their laws and Lucian Argeneau is the head of the North America Immortal Council and gets involved with the group that enforces the laws. They can’t go rogue and change people willy nilly, in fact each immortal must only change one person ever. It goes without saying that they generally change their mate rather than anyone else. They also can not be seen using their amazing immortal skills, such as picking up huge items, running faster than the eye can see, hearing what no one else can, reading minds, etc.

Ildaria manages to get in trouble a lot. She just can’t help herself when she sees someone in trouble. With today’s cell phones and other devices, it’s inevitable that she would make Lucian mad and that he would have to rein her in. So he makes her quit night college for now and get a job. When she meets G.G. at her new job babysitting his small dog and doing the books for his bar, she is very drawn to him. A friend makes her realize that he is her mate due to her not being able to read his mind. Problem? He has no intention of ever being changed. Ever. No matter how he feels about her.

I really always enjoy these books. Some are lighthearted, especially in the beginning of this 31 book series, others are full on adventure or suspense. I’ve enjoyed both types of these books in the series. And no, I haven’t read them all, although I’ve read quite a few of them-especially the newer ones. There’s always plenty of humor and catching up with previous characters which is always a plus for me.

I had fun reading G.G. and Ildaria’s(middle name Angel)story and romance. I did have a smidgeon of a problem with the fact that G.G. has a full on mohawk and it’s green. Not my thing, but Ildaria didn’t care. G.G. does stand for Green Giant after all.

There’s plenty of romance and sexy times to be had and I would recommend this to adult paranormal romance fans.
