Love the world building, see some old friends AND follow the expanding world with a new couple. No spoilers, but what an unexpected twist at the end (can't wait for his story). Can I just say, a man with a Mohawk and tattoos is sexy! Love that the characters are real, with their own insecurities and strengths.

Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal romance story. When Ildaria, a vampire, meets a handsome, tall, mortal man, G.G. (Joshua), Ildaria discovers she can't read his mind, G.G. might be a possible life mate, and G.G. offers her an incredible job of accounting and taking care of his dog, HD. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, engaging story line riveting reader from the first page until the last page of the story, full of suspense and intrigue, and a must read love story.
I reviewed a copy of the story through NetGalley.

I was quick to grab this book when I saw who the author was and the series that it was a part of.
The eBook cover was something that caught my eye as well. I liked the cover a lot and hoped for the best for the story. Because even with this series I either really liked the story or it fell short of that. This story left me with mixed feelings about it.
The Prologue confused me at first, making me wonder where this fit in with the story. It does get cleared up later but it had me scratching my head for a while. I will say though that it was a pretty dramatic beginning to the book.
Both Ildaria and G.G. were good main characters who each had their own issues. Ildaria's reach back MANY years because of her immortal status. She'd suffered a lot throughout the years and is still on the run and trusting no one.
I did like the different angle that this story had with G.G. being mortal but having extensive knowledge and acceptance of Immortals. Acceptance yes but wanting to be one would be a strong No. You can see why that's going to be a problem, right?
G.G. was such a kind, compassionate man who was always available to people when they needed to talk. I liked him a lot and enjoyed his love for and gentleness with his fur-ball, quirky small dog. I know it was mentioned that G.G. was a handsome guy but I had a hard time imagining it. He had a tall, green Mohawk , so maybe it was just me. That didn't appeal to me but his personality, kindness and his way of helping others did.
Ildaria had other people who stepped up to help her. That was a bit difficult for her because she's been going it alone for so long.
Those other people added depth to the story.
I will say that although the way Ildaria was turned was really different, I also wasn't that much a fan of that.
There is a good end to the story though that included a surprise twist and an Epilogue.

A slow build to a steamy romance.

While Immortal Angel is book #31 in the series, it can be read as a standalone as it really just focuses on the one couple.

Did I love this book? Sadly, no. However, with that said it was a well-plotted, well-written book. My problem was the cover, the prologue, and the description made it sound like a more action-packed story. What action there was — outside of the prologue— was over in the blink of an eye. This was pure romance, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I just felt a little misled.

As to the romance, Ildaria and Joshua (GG) were wonderful together. There was laughter and adorableness (come on…who doesn’t love a big guy who is a total sucker for a small dog!), and some very sexy love scenes. Both main characters were well rounded with complex backstories. Both were strong willed, honorable and troubled by events from their past, which made for great conflict.

The book also had fun secondary characters like Marguerite, Sophia, Joshua’s mom (loved her), the very, blunt Lucian and let’s not forgot the bundle of fur— H.D..

If you’re looking for a paranormal that focuses on the romance and the issues between human and vampire as a couple, this is the perfect book for you.

At this point Lindsay is just a staple. She was one of my first authors. And the first book in the Argenau Series was my first vampire book. (I know shocker it wasn't Twilight.). But you know how it goes. After book 6 or 7 or so I kinda lost interest in vampires over all. Thanks to the overwhelming saturation of the market. But when I saw an ARC opportunity. You bet I jumped on the chance to catch up with my beloved characters. And you know if you still remember characters and their story after years you bet they are great. And so to the surprise of.... No one. This book is also great. It's funny, whitty, steamy and the characters have a colorful history. What more could you want?

I liked this one! It wasn't my favorite in the entire series but it was a really good one. I was really excited to start this book and so happy that I got to read it early because I'm such a huge fan of this series as I'm sure if you listen to our podcast are aware of. I was really happy to see that G.G. was getting his own story but honestly I was a bit confused at the beginning because I forgot to read the blurb so I thought it was going to be Ildaria/Angelina and that FBI guy Jack. Honestly, I liked that she had the FBI guy come back to close that plot hole but it honestly was unnecessary but oh well. I also felt like the plot was a little predictable because I totally knew the ending but I won't spoil that here. Both characters were just so sweet that it was a really nice read and a good follow up to the series. I think that as usual Lysnay Sands did a great job at telling you how to feel about a character while reading it so even when the truth all comes out you still are gung ho with what you want. All in all it was a good read and really cute so I give it 4 stars!

This book is part of a long standing series of romancing vampires. There is sex, some violence, swearing and a good ending.

Ildaria is a trouble magnet as the description says.  She grew up quickly after she was turned at age 14.  It was a horribly frightening event that has tortured her ever since.  She is under the protection of Lucian Argenaeu so she has to follow his rules.

This is the first book of a 31 book series that I have read so I am missing pieces.  Usually, I can figure out the players, and I did to an extent.  There are some missing info that I need to fill by reading the previous 30 books.

This was a welcome read and one that was hard to put down.  it was interesting to learn about another culture of vampires (each series has different vampire rules and culture standards).  For instance, these vampires can actually have children.  Rule is only one each 100 years.  They can only change one person in their lifetime.  Now that is tough since vampires live several human lifetimes.  If they meet and fall in love with a human that is not a life mate, they will have to watch that person age and die because they need to save there turning chip for their life mate.  I’m sure there is more to it, but since I’m a newbie to the series, that’s what I gleaned from the story.  If they do meet their life mate, oh, boy - get out of the way cuz they gonna need to get to the other.

I enjoyed the simplicity of the story.  There were no deep dark secrets that one part of the couple hid from the other.  It was a great straight forward romance.  Of course, there was some adventure, and the end?  Hmmm....let’s just say...it’s very interesting and no one dies.  I do believe I’ll be going back to read the first 30 in this series.

Sands’ thirty-first installment in the Argeneau Series follows the story of Ildaria and G.G. She’s an immortal who’s been on the run for over two centuries. He’s a mortal who owns night clubs for immortals.

On their journey to their happily ever after, G.G. helps Ildaria find stability and deal with issues from her past.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Immortal Angel (Argeneau #31) by Lynsay Sands I will admit I have missed a few of the books in this series. Ildaria Garcia has been on the run with a knack for saving women and taking down bad guys. She meets G.G. who runs a night club for immortals... He is human but his mother and stepfather are immortal...There is A LOT of sex and sex dreams life mate style... I could have done with a little less..but all in all I enjoyed this book.

What a fun and addicting paranormal escape! It's a world of vampires where most humans obliviously exist. G.G. is not one of those. In fact his clubs cater to immortals and he balances the dangers that entails as a human amazingly well. When he meets Ildaria, however, everything changes. It's soul-mates with a twist!

The plot-line is interesting and even though this is number 31 in the series (yikes!!) the enjoyment is still as palpable and the journey just as satisfying as if it were a stand-alone. It never deepened to the point of allowing a reader to really feel the relationship between G.G. and Ildaria beyond the physical chemistry. And the secondary characters weren't fleshed out at all (probably the most noticeable point in being last in a long line of previous books) but for just a fun escape on an evening where deep thinking is optional, this story is perfection!

I’ve been a fan of the Argeneau series since the beginning and this title is no exception. Sands has done an amazing job of world building and has managed to keep it consistent throughout the series. I love how minor characters in previous books typically go on to be featured in their own. This title brings Ildaria to life, making her a fully fleshed out character with an amazing (albeit somewhat tragic) backstory, as well as giving us more of GG. I totally loved the way these characters came together so beautifully. Ildaria needs the peaceful calm of GG to balance out her constant fear and hyper awareness from being on the run for 200 years. Although mortal, GG is already aware of immortals, including their origins and the existence of lifemates, meaning this couple has an easier time coming together than some of the others in the series have. I love the Atlantis origin story Sands has developed to explain immortals and their constant need for blood. That is touched on here but not a lot of details are given in this entry into the series, as both main characters are already familiar with the facts. Even so, this is easily able to be read as a stand-alone novel, without having to have read any of the others in the series before. Of course, if you are familiar with the series, it’s nice to catch a glimpse of some of the previously featured couples, especially Marguerite and Julian, Mirabeau and Tybo, and Jess and Raffaele. We also find out much more about Juan Villaverde here, towards the end, leaving us ready and waiting for his story. I’m hoping that Marguerite will, as intimated, turn her matchmaking ways toward him next. A solid entry in a well#built series.

loved.
I was so wrapped up in this story.
I love this series, I am always thrilled when I get my hands on a new book from Lynsay Sands.
This book did not disappoint, it is a must read.

Lynsay Sands is a popular author with my library patrons, and this was a perfectly fine paranormal romance. It wasn't imperative that I was super familiar with the series, and the characters were fine. It didn't rock my socks off but it the themes of consent and getting over traumatic experiences were timely and it was an easy read.

G.G. is a mortal, who owns the bar where Ildaria his hired to do the accounting. Through a series of horrific miscommunication and understandings, Ildaria has had to live her life in fear and on the run. She is an immortal who falls for G.G., who doesn’t want to turn because he experienced the trauma of seeing his mother suffer from turning when he was a child. He will have to decide if his fear of turning is more powerful than his love for Ildaria and their future together. I was not familiar with the Argeneau series but enjoyed it as a standalone. There are many strong female characters that support each other, which is wonderful to read.

This was my first book of Lynsay Sands and I didn't realize it was #31 in the series. The good news is, I don't think it mattered. I was not lost at all and had no idea it wasn't a standalone. Anyone can pick this book up and read it.

Overall, this was a pretty entertaining read. I enjoyed the main characters, especially Angel. I liked how she couldn't help but get herself in trouble with the council for stepping in to save humans. She had a good sense of right and wrong and was willing to take her chances to do the right thing. She's had a bad past and doesn't trust easy but she seems to draw people to her despite that.

G.G. or Joshua, was as equally an entertaining character. He's not one that will make you go all hot and bothered for a hero, but I liked him. His mother was hilarious.

This has a good cast of side characters that I can easily assume are mc's in previous books. I have found a few couples that I want to get to know more, so I will be checking out some of the earlier books.

I've been reading Lynsay Sands for some time now and we've reached book 31 in the Argeneau series. At one point I honestly felt that the series had gone on for too long but I this author is truly talented and I feel like the last few books have breathed new life into series (or rather brought back the humor and charm of the older books) . Both main characters G.G. and Ildaria have appeared in previous books in the series. I've looked forward to them having their own stories and I think it's brilliant that the author put them together. G.G. has been an interesting character from the beginning, I mean a mortal with a green mohawk who owns a vampire night club, and who everyone refers to as G.G. for Green Giant has to be right?. Ildaria's back story is just as interesting as G.G.'s if not more so. She is a real kick ass character and I really liked that she's in no way a Mary Sue. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow and I was happy that it wasn't instalove but we actually got to see the characters develop feelings and grow, not just as a couple but also as individuals.
As for the writing, as I've said Lynsay Sands is incredibly talented. She writes wonderful comedic scenes as well as truly emotional ones. And as always she's a master at writing romance love scenes.
This is actually one of my favorite books in this series. When you get to 31 books in a series, especially based around the same community of people, there is bound to be some over lap and repetition but Sands is bringing in new twists so things are just straight forward "we're life mates therefore we're meant to be together forever" and I'm glad she's done it. While the big surprise wasn't really that surprising, it was interesting and I'm sure it made way for future books that I'm now looking forward to reading.

I loved this book. It was like her writing from when she first started. Humor and romance and a cast of characters you never forget. So glad Angel and GG got together

Ahhhh...the Argeneau world is like coming back to an old friend. I can’t even remember how long I have been reading Lyndsay Sands books, but they sure do make for a fun and romantic escape. Well, at least while the couple’s story is being told. I guess some of the storylines have some bloody scenes. 😂 I do love that Sands gives her characters equal opportunity. In this particular story, Ildaria Garcia is a kick-ass vigilante when it comes to helping women fight off their male attackers. Her actions do draw the attention of Lucian, so she is reluctantly forced to move to Toronto and has been given a stern warning about beating men up. Ildaria is settling into her new life and she is savoring it because she has been on the run for 200 years and is tired of it. She is going to school for an accounting degree and because of that, agrees to do bookkeeping for Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, aka G.G.. G.G. is a sexy mortal who operates an immortal bar. His parents are both immortal, so that is why he is accepted. Since they are our two main protagonists, you can guess that they are life mates. The problem in this coupling is that G.G. does not want to become immortal. He witnessed his mother’s transformation and has been scarred by that childhood memory. His mom has not been able to convince her son otherwise.

As we delve deeper into Ildaria’s past, we learn a lot about the experiences that shaped who she is today. I think it is pretty powerful that G.G recommended counseling before they got intimate to help Ildaria move forward from her past trauma. Also, helllloooooo steamy sex scenes with my favorite paranormal twist. Lucian cracks me up. It’s not that he is trying to be funny, but being one of the oldest immortals, he just doesn’t do small talk and other socially appropriate things. He sure is blunt and no-nonsense. Sometimes those scenes make me want to reread Lucian’s story. The resolutions are satisfying and I hope there are tidbits about how they are doing in future books. I love this world that Sands has built. I love all the character names...the best names can be found in this series. Anytime she has a book release day, I am nowhere to be found, enjoying my escape in the newest storyline.

Having read and enjoyed many of the books in this series, I was amazed that this was book thirty one! However, this book can definitely be read without having read all the others. I must admit that this book was much slower than others I have read in the series. But I believe that was a nod to the heroine's past in that she was the victim of sexual abuse. So I can appreciate that the author kept that in mind when writing this romance, even having the hero encourage counseling before becoming intimate. All in all, it was a very enjoyable addition to the series.

G.G. tries to do right by his woman, “better yet, I will make the hot chocolate while you change into something . . .” Grimacing, he said, “Just go put some clothes on or talking won’t be what we do.” The man sometimes has a one track mind, “I love your body too,” he added, his hands sliding up to cup her breasts. “You should always greet me naked.” I liked this book, I loved G.G.
