I´m a huge fan of classic horror and gothic fiction and this one fills the gap in the subject matter of werewolves. An American discovers a manuscript while in Paris that details the testimony of Aymar Galliez. The reader learns about Bertrand Caillet, a young man afflicted with Lycanthropy through some unsual circumstances regarding his conception. I agree with a lot of reviewers that the historical details of France at war distracted from the story. In the end, this has the expected outcome one might expect from other horror classics like Dracula and Frankenstein.
