I enjoyed reading The Power of Knowing God by Tony Evans for part of my personal Bible study time.
I don't think there was anything really knew or revolutionary to me as I read, but I appreciated the excellent reminders in this book about knowing and developing my relationship with Jesus.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ebook.

This book is several things: It’s challenging, convicting, comforting, encouraging, and inspiring. As I finished the last chapter, I realized that I need to read this book again at a slower, steady pace so that I can fully absorb all the truth that’s in it. Reading it is like sitting in a small group with the author as he shares his heart about what it means to truly live in a close relationship with Christ. I highlighted many passages in this book that are sound counsel from a seasoned pastor. His use of Scripture to present his case for walking with Christ was amazing.

If you are feeling discouraged or disappointed in life, or you are seeking how to draw closer to God, please take the time to read this book. It’s a much needed conversation in our Christian lives today.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

In the book The Power of Knowing God, author and Pastor Tony Evans, writes about how really knowing God can change your life and your view of life. Evans writes: “The pursuit of God is not an ethereal, cloud-nine visit to nevernever land as you play the harp and sing songs. No, the pursuit of knowing and understanding God unlocks all you need to fully live out the victorious kingdom life you were made to fulfill. But one question remains: How bad do you want it?”
Evans also writes: “See, a crisis is not just a crisis. It’s never just a crisis. It is an opportunity to experience and know God to a degree and depth that you have never known before.”
This is a good, easy to read and understand book on how to know and connect with God better. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. I received a copy of this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I love how Dr Tony Evans explains spiritual concepts using common situations and scenarios, along with his own personal experiences to help the readers better understand them.

Throughout the book he uses and explains scripture to strengthen his message. He also shows is how the Word of God can be applied in our everyday lives. He shows us that knowing God is much deeper than just reading the Bible and memorising scripture.

I would definitely recommend this book or purchase it as a gift for someone.

I was provided an advanced copy of the “The Power if Knowing God” galley by Harvest House Publishers for my honest review.

Tony Evans demonstrates again what a wonderful teacher/preacher/man of God he is as he instructs readers on how to claim for themselves the power of knowing God. This highly readable, relatable and motivating book, tells readers that God is willing to meet us anytime, anywhere, whatever our circumstances because He longs for a deeply personal relationship with each of us.

Building this relationship, as with all other relationships will take honesty, truthfulness, transparency and commitment. We must seek to know God and His ways, make Him a priority in our life, seek to discover His plan for us as individuals.

So much is covered in this book that I can not begin to do it justice. I can tell you that I found it captivating, that it resonated with me and spoke to my soul, that it "woke me up" and challenged me, that I almost read it through in one sitting (was 10 minutes from the end of the book when we arrived at our destination and had to unpack the car).

This book will benefit all Christians, those new to the faith as well as long-time believers. Tony Evans keeps it real and has so much to offer. Do yourself a favor and set aside some time to read this book.

'What God wants from us is much more than a nod, salute of high five when we walk by.'

Tony Evans is a wonderful Bible teacher and preacher. I have always enjoyed listening to him and reading his books. The Power of Knowing God teaches the reader how to 'know' God on a deeper level, not just merely praying to Him and going to church. Truly knowing God requires us to deeply seek Him and Evans teaches us how to do this. Very impactful. Recommended.

This book is a must read for every believer! I think I highlighted at least half of the book. I plan to suggest that our church goes through the videos together in small groups.

I really enjoy Tony Evans and his style of writing. While reading through this book, there were times I could almost hear his voice, especially in reading the humorous stories and illustrations. Dr. Evans has a unique way of bringing out truth and perspective in his writing and this book proved the same. He encourages the reader to dig deeper and to not be satisfied with status quo but instead really truly know the God you serve. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to experience God in a deeper way.

I love how it tackles all view of knowing God. Spiritually sensing God, intellectually knowing God,
and all other aspects of knowing God. At first, I was bit alerted that the writer putting high emphasis
on encountering , and pursuing God with wholehearted way, but also, I thought it could lead others to the form
of "legalistic teaching." After I read most of this chapters, I am amazed how author is writing to provoke
the hunger and the thirst to encounter God in new fresh way. There were many gold nuggets I could find
page after page, and I really like this book.I had many wow moments with this book. It is really deep,
and I really like it...! Highly recommended.

Another great Christian resource in growing your relationship with God. Filled with scripture and practical guidance. Does not come off as new age self help as I had feared, rather a great companion to your daily Bible reading.

How can you say anything negative about subnch a long time servant? Since losing his wife this past year he seems to have redoubled his efforts to share the joy of Jesus and it permeated the pages of this book. Enjoy!

I chose to review The Power of Knowing God because of my history of not knowing God on a personal level. I tend to become very frustrated with these types of books because they offer very abstract ideas on achieving said personal relationship with God. When I was a teenager, I was in a Christian boarding school and the preacher (along with every girl in there, aside from me) not only claimed to hear God, but also stated that they had a personal relationship with Him. That, of course, troubled me. So, I went to the preacher and asked her why I was the only one that wasn't able to hear Him or have a relationship with Him. She simply stated that it was because I was living in sin. That is why I couldn' hear Him. That not only depressed me more, but it drove me crazy. I would sit and think of how I was living in sin so that I could repent. As an adult, I realize that wasn't very good advice. Which is why I am constantly looking for better advice and I think I have found it.

In The Power of Knowing God, Tony Evans not only talks about the importance of having a personal, intimate relationship with God, but he also outlines numerous ways to achieve that. One thing I really liked was that he provided so many scriptural references as well as personal anecdotes that really brought the scriptures to life in a real way. His style of writing is very conversational as well as authoritative.

I will definitely be re-reading this book, contemplating the scriptures mentioned as well as putting the guidelines into practice. I believe this book is a good choice for people (not just Christians) who are interested in the possibility of having a true relationship with God. I think if more people had the real relationship that Tony Evans writes about and not just a second or third-hand understanding of God, the world would be in a much better position. I think people have just given up hope on God because it seems like He has all but abandoned us. Hopefully, this book will lead them (as well as myself) to where they desire to be.

Losing hope when things get rough, and not trusting God. That is a problem I bet all people have. No matter what their faith. Maybe I am wrong but who doesnt have doubts? The problem is when the doubts overtake us.
This book focuses on Christian belief and Bible usage. I found this to be a very real help. Tony speaks in a conversational tone. The book is filled with examples of how to refocus on what God promises. I especially liked the comparison of Jesus having to experience the dirty garage as well as the sunny day. Excellent book,
