I must preface my reviews of Janet Dailey's books by saying that she was one of my top favourite authors for a very very long time when I was a young girl. I went to the public library after school almost everyday to scour the shelves hoping that there would be a new-to-me book by her on the shelves. Over the years I have read many many that I enjoyed.

You probably know what I am going to say next about this particular title. Granted, there is a sweet relationship between Lexie and Shane, one that is able to overcome the sad circumstances that came their way. But how does one overlook what Shane did to try to get what his boss was after. And that in the first few pages. I'm afraid it just totally put me off the book. I prefer heroes that rescue heroines, not potentially harm her or scare her out of her wits...

I also found that there was too much focus on bulls and bull riding. It might interest some of you but not really for me, I'm afraid.

Thank you, Netgalley and Kensington Books for the ARC. This is my honest review. I haven't given up by any means. I'm still ready for a Janet Dailey book anytime!

I have read all of Janet Dailey's books. She is a must read for me. The Story opens in southern Arizona at the Alamo Canyon Ranch where the Sisters are trying to keep the ranch going after the death s of their brother in a bill riding accident and the death of there father. The fan h is rIsing bucking bulls for the rodeos with hopes of getting in the PBR. Lexus one of the Sisters takes their bill Whirwind to the conditions in hopes to make enough money to keep the ranch going. SHe meets a hands bill rider named Shane who is actually a neighbors employed who is trying to buy Whirlwind. She will not well Whirlwind to anyone especially him. While she is gone things go from bad to worse in the ranch and Lexus doesn't know who to trust. It keeps you reading last hour bedtime to find out your answers to get your answers. I received this book as a Arc copy from NetGaley, and this is my review.

Quick read, good characters and lively if predictable story. A look at rodeos from the bulls side rather than the cowboys.

This is a light, quick read by an author I have read for years. There are several characters in the story that one doesn't get to know totally. There surface stories are there, but one might want to know more about what they are thinking. There is so much death...and mayhem. How the protagonist could fall in love with a man who connived against her is beyond me. There seems to be no real redemption...just people against people. For escapism, this might be the time to read this book. For any real depth, this is not. That being said, I will read the next book by this author because in the past, some of them have been those one would read more than once. This one is not.
