Researching how to help autistic children hardly fits the Amish lifestyle, yet Priscilla Ebersol finds herself dedicated to the task. Working with special needs children is indeed her gift, however, scandal nearly proves to be her undoing. Priscilla is finding that camel's milk has benefits that woulld aid these children, and that means working alongside Gabriel Kauffman.

Gabriel is working hard with his camel farm, but the attention of an Englisch company is not the distraction that he needs. In fact, when Priscilla happens to be in his shop at a cvertain time, she finds herself playing a very specific role. There are concerns about the camel's milk and Gabriel's shop, and Priscilla's intuitive nature proves to be of value to him.

Although quite drawn to one another, the two have baggage that just might get in the way of a happy future together. Will working together, bonding in their faith and building a strong friendship be enough to bring these gentle souls together?

I love this Amish story! I have reaad more than a few, including the first book in this series, including His Unexpected Amish Twins, and I know going in that I will be drawn to a very good story, especially when it involves a deeper subject, like autism in this case of this book. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Many thanks to Zebra and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for my honest opinion.

What I think you should know:
His Pretend Amish Bride is a contemporary Amish fiction by Rachel J. Good. It is the second book in the Unexpected Amish Blessing series. This book can be read as a standalone, but the first book in the series, His Unexpected Amish Twins is SOOO worth reading so I recommend that you read it first.

What I think about this book:
I was so very excited to read this book after reading the sneak peak in . I was pleasantly surprised to see the author went in a direction that was completely unexpected. Priscilla is a faithful Amish woman who loves her job as a teacher for special needs students, yet when her reputation is put at risk it seems that everyone turns their back on her. My heart ached for her as her own mother even questioned her and chose not to trust her daughter. Her strength and grace while under intense pressure was so encouraging to me, even if I wanted her to stand up for herself at times! Gabriel is new to the community and has a unique business. I enjoyed learning about the camel business more than I thought that I would. Without giving away the plot I really enjoyed how the twist and turns came together to make a story that would be enjoyable for Amish enthusiasts and contemporary fiction fans alike. I am so excited for the next book in the series!

I received a complimentary copy for this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

I loved that Gabe had a Camel farm. I hadn’t heard of milk from camels before. Gabe has quite a time selling it and keeping it separated from cow’s milk. I love reading Amish stories that I get to learn from.

I loved Priscilla’s character. I enjoyed how the romance between her and Gabe process slowly. Priscilla was such a big help to Gabe. Helping with his shop and also with a misunderstanding with a customer.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. This book review is my own opinion.

Ok, so I’ve never heard of a camel farm in the US, letalone in any of the Amish communities, but at least it’s a unique twist! Beyond that, this was a pretty good book. I really liked both characters and the circumstance they find themselves in. The writing was really good. I highly recommend.

If you enjoy romances about fake relationships this is a great book to read! Set in an Amish community, love blossoms between two people who would do anything for acceptance in their small town.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book. Unfortunately, it isn't what I was looking for. I wasn't able to finish it, therfore I will not post a review on Goodreads. I know there is a great audience for this, so I don't want to skew the ratings. Thanks again!

Rachel Good is a wonderful Amish author, and I very much enjoyed reading this book. I loved the character of Priscilla, and thought her patience through a trying time was amazing. She showed much more grace than I would have in such an unfair situation. She had to put her trust in God and the support she received from her dad. There’s some lessons for all of us in this book about being a supportive friend; rejecting gossip; and trusting God to handle a difficult situation in His timing. Gabe is also facing a difficult situation, and it takes Priscilla’s faith and trust to help him find the answers that he’s seeking.

This book has a strong theme of faith, hope, and love. It’s a beautiful story of never relinquishing trust in God during the difficult times. If you’ve never read one of Rachel Good’s books, take a look at this one. I know you’ll enjoy it!

This book had it all for me: a strong female character (most of the time), special needs children, and animals. A unique animal to the Pennsylvania Dutch country at that...Camels!

This was a quick read for me and maybe it was because I found it so interesting on the camel milk and autism spectrum.

A clean romance for teenagers and above to read. For those that enjoy Christian reads but not a lot of preaching and bible verses, this is for you.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Kensington, through NetGalley. Any opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

I enjoyed the first book from Rachel J Good’s Unexpected Amish Blessings series, His Unexpected Amish Twins. So, I was excited to have the opportunity to read the second installment, His Pretend Amish Bride. Even though it is part of a series, I believe it can be read as a stand alone. This one is by far my favorite that I have read by Miss Good to date. I loved the unique storyline involving a camel farm. I learned so much about camels that I have never heard of before. I was really fascinated with their benefits. Priscilla and Gabriel were great characters and I enjoyed their chemistry.

I am giving His Pretend Amish Bride a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it. I cannot wait for the fall release of the third addition to the Unexpected Amish Blessings series, His Accidental Amish Family. I already have it added to my wish list.

I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Priscilla finds herself and her reputation in trouble when her boyfriend betrays her. She pours herself into trying to help her brother with his autism by visiting the new local camel farmer to purchase his camel milk. But will she get more than camel’s milk in the end?

I don’t recall ever reading a book about camels milk, and I have to say this was an interesting read. I enjoyed reading Priscilla and Gabe’s knowledge on camels and camel’s milk. And I soon fell in love with these two. And as usual for one of Rachel Good’s stories, there are twists and turns that will keep you reading until the story ends. I didn’t want to put it down, but had to a few times! The characters, both the ones I like and don’t like so well came to life as they told their stories. I love when characters are so realistic they feel like friends. The news reporter was a really nice addition to this story, adding a different twist, and Ms. Good handled this with much respect for the Amish in general. And it was especially nice for some of the characters in the previous book to make an appearance in this book.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Tra

5 Stars: 5/5 Star RatingWhat an unusual Amish fiction this one is! I was shocked and excited to read one that was so different from other similar books. Priscilla is wronged by her Amish boyfriend and then meets a young Amish camel farmer who she is instantly attracted to, but the attraction can surely lead nowhere fast, right? Readers will find this book refreshing! I've read hundreds of Amish fiction romances and this one is quite different and that pleased me greatly as it was not so predictable. I received a digital ARC of this book from netgalley and Zebra Publishing. All opinions expressed are my own.

Rachel J. Good has done it again!

“His Pretend Amish Bride” is a wonderful story. Rachel’s descriptions of the characters, events, and scenery are so vivid. I really appreciate how well she integrates the prayers of the characters so you get a glimpse of the depth of their faith, as well as their struggles. The conversations about God and what He commands do not seem contrived but come across as very natural.

About the time you think everything is going to work out, she introduces a rival for the main character. I love the way the story flows and gives a very satisfying ending.

I highly recommend this book, actually ANY book, written by Rachel J. Good.

NOTE: I received a complimentary copy of this book for reviewing from Rachel J. Good. I was not required to provide a positive review. Thoughts in my review are my own opinion.

Rachel J. Good's newest release, His Pretend Amish Bride, is a must-read! This book is part of the Unexpected Amish Blessings series.
Priscilla Ebersol is in love with Matthew King, or at least she was until she gets the blame for something she is innocent of. Gabriel Kauffman, a new camel farmer in the area, defends Priscilla and does what he can to save her reputation. She is a true friend of Gabe's even though he wishes for more of a relationship. There are secrets in his past that no one is aware of, even Priscilla.
I definitely recommend reading this book! Once you start reading it, you won't put it down until it's finished!

3 star rating on goodreads. I liked the general premise of this story, but I never felt fully connected to Priscilla. She was too easily manipulated into letting her ex get away with what he did. I was glad when the ex finally made things right and Priscilla got her HEA, although the end felt a little rushed.

This book was a roller coaster. Spoilers ahead!

I loved the plot without the romance - it was exciting, I enjoyed the different relationship dynamics, and learning more about camel milk (although seriously, research it before you take this book's word for it - it's very controversial).

I understand it's an Amish community, and the way their culture works is not always the way outsiders would agree with. We are confronted very early on by a shocking admission by the heroine's fiance - he cheated on her and was caught with his pants down, and then when the entire community assumes it was with her and begin to ostracize her. She doesn't defend herself, her own mother is AWFUL to her, and he father just sits back and lets it happen. I'm not a fan of this way of living at all, but that's also quite common in very religious communities.

I felt like the story was one big hypocrisy. Priscilla leaves one man for cheating on her, soon meets Gabriel (who seems like a sweetheart), and falls in love with him. The entire book is them two trying to stay away from each other and not succeeding. Then the bomb drops - not only has Gabriel been using lying by omission to Priscilla this whole time but he actually has a fiance back home! We find this out when said fiance shows up and GET THIS - she has been recovering from an accident Gabriel caused in a buggy seven years ago. He proposed at the time and told her he would wait for her. And then when she finally recovers enough to come see him, she finds he and Priscilla are together. It was heartbreaking to read, and absolutely destroyed the book for me. I could not believe that the whole book was spent ragging on Priscilla's ex-fiance and how awful liars and cheats are, and then we find out that Gabriel is just as bad.

His Pretend Amish Bridge was a joy to read. Everything was just right, the suspense, romance, and the Amish way of living. It flowed so perfect that I didn't want to put it down. A perfect book to escape for a few hours.

The mystery didn't surprise me yet I was left wondering how they were going to figure everything out till near the end. Loved that.

I really felt for these two young people. It's so sad how deep a hurt can go. A hurt so deep in our hearts that only God can help us overcome.

On a side note: Such interesting information about Camel's milk in this book and really it sounds like something to investigate more.

It was a great read!

“His Pretend Amish Bride” reacquaints readers with some characters from the first book in this series. Here we find school teacher Priscilla getting to know Gabe, who owns a camel farm. Priscilla has researched the therapeutic uses of camel’s milk, and seeks to find out if the milk can help her autistic brother. Both Gabe and Priscilla are trying to recover from past relationship hurts, yet cannot avoid their attraction to each other. Priscilla proves to be a valuable asset for Gabe’s business. However, many problems need to be solved before these two can find their happy ending.

The story contains valuable and interesting information about camel’s milk and about educating autistic children. The characters have their own flaws, rather then being painted as perfect human beings. However, I could not help wishing they would get some backbone and stand up for themselves, rather than allowing themselves to become embroiled in the lies of others. In addition, the plot seems uneven at times, and contains some scenes that just don’t seem to fit very well. Readers will find this novel leads in to the next one in the series. The Christian message is overt in this novel, and it is a clean read, with no strong language, adult scenes, or violence.

I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

What a captivating story by Rachel J. Good. The sub topic was different, research was accurate, and Rachel definitely made it flow with the main characters in the book.

Shy Amish camel farmer needs help saving his business with selling camel's milk. Who helps him gives him more than he ever could've asked for in helping him. Will his business be saved?

I had not known until after completion of "His Pretend Amish Bride" that it was book two in the series. With that said it can be read as a stand alone and you won't be lost while reading it out of order.

I look forward to reading more books written by Rachel J. Good in future. Also will be looking into purchasing book one.

I received a free copy through NetGalley. No money was exchanged, only an honest review was agreed upon. This is my honest review in my own words.

I have to admit that I chose this book because of the camel on the front. It grabbed my attention and I’m so glad it did! Priscilla’s outgoing character paired so well as an opposite to Gabriel’s softness. I enjoyed reading this as a light, spiritual read. I also loved Priscilla’s mother, a lot of books, the characters outside of the romance fall a little flat - not her!

An Amish camel farm??? I have never heard about camel milk for therapeutic treatment, but author Rachel Good almost always teaches me something new in her books. I knew this story was going to be good and it certainly was.

I loved both main characters. Priscilla is feisty and stands up for herself and her friends. Gabriel is shy and quiet. Yet both are battling hurts from unjust accusations and situations. I enjoyed how their faith and trust in God and each other grew as they spent time together. And defended each other. Rachel’s mother, as a secondary character, was a piece of work. She made me laugh in an “I can’t believe this” kind of way but I still wanted to shake her.

If you enjoy Amish fiction that has spiritual truths as characters overcome, and of course a sweet clean romance, then you’ll enjoy this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.
