This book was fascinating: I love the writing style, the pictures that add so much to the texts, as well as the whole idea of telling stories through objects, a concept I can clearly remember multiple times I've considered and wished for something like it, every time my father played history programs on the television (the Titanic ones in special made me wish for 1912 items to dreamily direct my gaze to.

This was an interesting concept for a book. However I think the execution could have been better. Was just okay for me.

Thank you NetGalley and New Village Press for the e-copy.

My Life in 100 Objects is an amazing concept for a book. That is, to see the 100 objects shaped Margaret Randall as the person she is today. Objects as objects from different cultures, as locations, as things that have shaped and been part of her life.
I loved how she provided pictures of every object, making them more important to herself and the reader.
Something she wrote that I loved was: “There is an intimate connection between objects and poems, and perhaps it is easier for a poet to see the poetry in things.” Being able to see the meaning and the beauty of objects, really goes to show how meaningful and important the little things in our lives can mean.
This is a concept that made me think about my life, about the objects that have shaped me, and to also remember to cherish the little things.

A great idea, and with some introspective, illuminating memories, still I felt the book was not what it could've been. I don't know, a bit underwhelming for me.

Thanks to the publisher for the ARC.

I am not familiar with Randall and I'm not a poetry fan. I found My Life in one hundred objects fascinating. I really like the concept. The author produced 100 objects and then described the significance of each in her life. I think it's different and unique approach to talk about her life. Objects ranged from architecture, figurines, books, places, and art. Some of the descriptions were more in depth than others. The author has lived in Cuba, South America and has traveled widely as reflected by the significant objects. It's a different approach to a pseudo- memoir.

While not awful I did not find this book terribly interesting. The description gives more of an expectation than was met with the content. I can understand the idea behind the book but it did not live up to it in my opinion.

I love the idea behind this book. But I really struggled to finish this book. There were some chapters that were interesting, but some that were kind of boring.

I love the concept of this book. However i was disappointed in the content. I found the insights shallow.
