Thank you to NetGalley and DK Children's Books.for this advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a wonderful book about feelings, specifically the emotion of sadness. It talks about different reasons why one could feel sad and what sadness makes someone feel. It also gave great ways to work through your sadness, and is a big encouragement that there are better days ahead. This is a great book for children and how they can work through their sadness..

Great concept book for the feeling of sad to use with toddlers as well as preschoolers and nice bright colorful illustrations. I was a little confused with the setup of the pages in the digital version I had , it showed the back cover on the left side and the front cover on the right side across the screen so I wasn't sure if I was supposed to read it by reading down from the front cover and then up to the back cover or just right to left, but I am sure it would be fine in a physical copy of the book..

The illustrations in this book are fantastic representation of often complicated emotions. There are numerous examples of what can cause one to feel sadness and ways to manage the emotion. It's definitely a great addition to the world of SEL!

As a preschool special educator, I am often tasked with helping children navigate big emotions. I love this book. It takes a big scary topic, sadness, and describes how it might feel and why. It also helps the reader to develop some strategies to deal with the sadness. There is also a reminder that the sadness often doesn't last long. I plan to get this book for my classroom and introduce it early in the year. I will have an open, ongoing conversation with my students. I plan to leave this story, once familiar, in the safe space with other calming tools.
I am thankful for the opportunity to have read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you

Help Your Child Understand and Manage Feeling Sad

This is another board book by DK meant to help small children figure out and process their emotions. This one is all about feeling sad. The author briefly touches on what being sad means and some ways that cause it. Several pages are dedicated to figuring out how to deal with and get past it, like by crying or talking to someone. The book ends on a positive note, saying that sadness doesn't last forever, and the reader can still be happy as soon in the future. The book is simple and colorful, perfect for young children. If your child is having issues with sadness, it could be a superb way to start the discussion about it. You could use it to discuss what precisely is bothering your child and help figure out what soothes his or her sadness.

In I Feel Sad, the feeling Sad is represented as a rain cloud, which is explained that your feelings might be like them. The book says that there are a variety of reasons why someone might feel sad, but the feeling doesn't stay very long because something can make it disappear. This is the only book in this series that does not ask a question at the end of the book, but I don't feel like it needed a question in this one. The illustrations were good. I especially liked the last page, where the rain clouds were going away and the sun was coming out with a big rainbow.

I recommend this series for babies through age 5. Even though a child under 1.5 might not understand completely what you are reading, I think it would still be great to introduce this series to them early. These books are a great introduction to feelings, and I am most likely going to be adding them to my son's board book collection. I hope DK Publishings decides to sell this as a box set because this would make a great gift.

Bright and bold illustrations pair well with simple text that explains what it means to feel sad, and how our body and mind processes them. Love the use of a cloud as the "person", this would also be a lovely baby shower gift!

These books are not the only book you will want to help your children learn about their emotions, but they are a great addition to any child's library. The illustrations are bright, engaging and a clear picture of the emotion they are describing. I would by the entire series for my preschooler, my therapy office or my classroom.

An early copy of this book was made available to me by the publisher through netgalley. This is my honest review.

A very sweet description of sadness. I love that it portrays it as a natural part of life and not something to be avoided. But the book provides helpful steps to feel better. I’m excited to introduce this to my children.

I Feel Sad is a very well done book explaining sadness for younger students. The illustrations are cute and developmentally appropriate. The language is clear with solid strategies for handling sad feelings. I will consider purchasing this book for my classroom instruction. Thanks DK Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this title.

I Feel Sad is the next book in the guide to my feelings board books. The illustrations are colorful and engaging. This is a great conversation starter when children are unable to express their emotions.

I received all of the series, so many of my reviews will be the same.

The illustrations are extremely engaging, especially for children with ADHD or other attention related disorders. They break emotions down to Kinder levels but are still able to be utilized at least until 2 grade, in my opinion.

A great resource for special education teachers or occupational therapists in teaching children emotions and how to handle them.

This was a cute and short book that would make a great introduction to something abstract like feelings. The illustrations were colorful and drove the story forward, but it felt a little incomplete at the end. I wish there had been a few more pages to wrap up the book a little better.

I received an advance copy from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This book was a great introduction to children of the emotion of sadness. It teaches that while the emotion is unpleasant in feeling, it is quite normal to feel in certain situations such as those of loss. It then goes on to explain some strategies for feeling less sad, such as talking about it and surrounding oneself with things that make one feel happy.

Overall a great book!
