Bright attractive illustrations with just enough text to open up discussions with young children about their emotions. A great resource for parents, teachers and counselors working with children ages 4 through 7.

I love the colorful illustrations and characters that help to teach about the happy feeling content. I would definitely use this with a group of toddlers and/or preschoolers to help talk about emotions.

The visuals are words are simple but effective explanations about happiness. The discussion about why one may feel happiness and how sometimes things will make a child feel unhappy are great conversation starters for emotional learning. It's a great addition to youth library collections.

Like the Other Emotion Books, But Needed??

This board book is meant to help very young children understand what happiness is. Like the other books in the series by D.K. Publishing, the author first defines it and gives examples of what could make a child happy. The author then briefly touches on the idea that happiness can go away, like when a friend leaves to go home, but happiness may be just around the corner. At the end, the child is encouraged to express what makes her or him happy. Compared to the other books in the series, which I have already read and reviewed, I don't see as much of a need for a book on happiness. I think it is one of the easiest emotions to understand and appreciate, even as a young child. If, however, you did want to start a discussion about happiness with your child, this book could be a pleasant gateway in to the topic.

How can you not feel good after reading I Feel Happy? I mean happiness is represented as a sun, and the sun is so smiley and even holding some balloons in one picture. As with the other books in this series, it explains how happy signals are sent by the brain throughout the body, which gives us the feeling of being happy. There are many things that can make us feel happy, including playing at the park and with toys. I like how it says happiness can be loud or calm, and even though the happy feelings go away, they will always come back because something else will make us happy. This book is perfect to learn about what might make a child happy. The illustrations are fun and colorful. I would definitely recommend this book.

I recommend this series for babies through age 5. Even though a child under 1.5 might not understand completely what you are reading, I think it would still be great to introduce this series to them early. These books are a great introduction to feelings, and I am most likely going to be adding them to my son's board book collection. I hope DK Publishings decides to sell this as a box set because this would make a great gift.

These books are not the only book you will want to help your children learn about their emotions, but they are a great addition to any child's library. The illustrations are bright, engaging and a clear picture of the emotion they are describing. I would by the entire series for my preschooler, my therapy office or my classroom.

An early copy of this book was made available to me by the publisher through netgalley. This is my honest review.

I was able to read I feel Happy by DK for free from Netgalley for providing me with an advanced ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book was an great on showing children what happiness is and what it feels like.   The illustrations are extremely engaging. They will help children recognize them and understand the way the feel.

I received all of the series, so many of my reviews will be the same.

The illustrations are extremely engaging, especially for children with ADHD or other attention related disorders. They break emotions down to Kinder levels but are still able to be utilized at least until 2 grade, in my opinion.

A great resource for special education teachers or occupational therapists in teaching children emotions and how to handle them.
