Scourge of the Betrayer had some interesting ideas and a gritty tone that fans of military fantasy will probably appreciate, but it didn’t fully click for me. While Arki’s outsider perspective was a nice contrast to the hardened Syldoon, the pacing felt uneven, and I had trouble staying fully engaged with the characters. There’s definitely potential here, especially in the darker, more introspective moments but overall, it just didn’t leave a strong impression.
