When I first got approved for this I was super upset because I never saw it was just a chapter sampler but once I started reading it - I loved it! I cannot wait for the full book to come out. The cover is beautiful. Of course I want to get into characters, plot and everything else but it wasn't enough to fully know. But I will be reading the whole book as soon as it is out! I feel like this is will be a book I cannot put down!

I love mythology and when I saw Alexandra Bracken is writing a retelling of sorts, I jumped at the chance to read the sampler. Overall, I loved it and will definitely check out the full novel when it releases.

I’m not the biggest fan of samplers so it annoys me a bit to only have this tiny little tease, but the premise of the story is intriguing and I love Alexandra Bracken. I look forward to reading the full book!

To be honest, when I requested this, it was not listed as a sampler. So that was a little bit of disappointment colors it for me. I’m the type that wants to sit down to the whole story, and not left waiting months or more to know what happened, only to forget what I’ve read by the time it comes out. But, what I did read of this sampler was intriguing. This was for only the first handful of chapters, and generally by then I’ve determined if the world I’m reading is one I want to continue to learn about. I don’t commonly find I somehow like a book more after getting several chapters in, and yes if it’s borderline I have been known to skip forward, read a bit and jump back if it’s worthwhile. But, these characters aren’t flat, they’re realitisc, and they make sense. I’m a little concerned about the backstory and mythology, but I think this is going to be a story that peppers some of those important details throughout, and hold some back until just before we need them. So far, Lore is a strong character, and has enough personal backstory to make me interested. I’m sure the book will take a massive jump in pace shortly after where the sampler ended, so I’m hopeful.

I am very excited to pick this back up when the book comes out in January. The story picks up right away and kept me engaged. Thanks for the teaser!

The concept for this story is wonderful and I loved it. However, for some reason, I could not get into this sampler at all. There was a disconnect for me.

This is such a promising beginning, I cannot wait to dig into this book when it finally releases! Lore is just my kind of heroine and my love for greek mythology and specifically, adaptations/twists on it is satisfied with just the beginning chapters of this book!

I can already tell how rich and intricate this series is going to be (I hope it’s a series because of it isn’t I’m going to be devastated) and I’m going to be counting down the days until this book comes out!

I am already in desperate need to get the rest of this book. Publishers, I will give my right arm for a full ARC of this book! The writing was superb. The characters are so complex, but yet so relatable. I am loving what I’m seeing so far.

HOW CAN I CAN GET THE REST OF THE BOOK? I haven´t been so invested into reading something until I started reading Lore! Reading this sample seems like reading a 25-year old Percy Jackson/Annabeth Chase adventure! It is so savage, it feels… not for teenagers… and it is so captivating from chapter 1.

Lore, the main character, is such a strong woman! She has no vibes of being this damsel in distress that will be struggling with what to do or what is right, nor the seems to be the archetype of the gorgeous femme fatal that depends a lot of her looks. She is already into the killing! Killing for revenge and she does not seem to be the kind of person that is doubtful!

I worry a bit about her best friend, Miles. Why? Because I wouldn´t like to see him being the “purse” like comedy gay sidekick that is there for the lols. He already is this kid-like character that is obsessed with sugar although he is in college, but I love his relationship with his mom. I am really excited about this book and where it is going. The blurb is appealing, the plot seems to be complicated and action-packed. I just need the full book so that I can keep on fanboying.

This is such a great teaser! I'm so excited for the full book to come available because this chapter completely had me hooked. Lore (the character) is amazing and I'm so excited to see where her story goes. There's so much to cover in a standalone but I'm confident Bracken is up to the challenge (I'm a big fan of hers, so I can't wait for this to come out).

This was such an intriguing sample! I am definitely curious about the world the story set up. The myth is in interesting take, and the characters were immediately dynamic. I will be looking forward to this.

I love a good Greek mythology type story and this opening has me hooked! I'm going to need to get my hands on a copy pre publication because I'm hooked and I need to see how the story plays out pronto.

Alexandra Bracken is one of my favorite authors and when I saw they were releasing a new book I was so excited. I love the mythology in the book so far and what the rest of the book will hold for Lore and New York.

It looks like Bracken has done it again. This sample of Lore is absolutely gripping filled with action, mystery, and plenty of myth. I cannot wait for the full book to come out in January and I will be first in line at Barnes and Noble to pick up a copy.

It's a very interesting and entertaining first few chapters. I'm definitely intrigued and want to check out the rest of the book. I'm really liking Lore right now.

I'm not sure about this one... While I knew it was a sampler, I'm not sure I was allowed enough time to become invested in the book/characters/writer's style. The writing is good and story (what there was of it) intriguing, though I'm not sure that I will pick it up when it comes out.

I appreciate the preview into this book. I cannot wait until it's released.
