A solid collection of greek myths, some popular and some a little less known, so that kids can start to foster their knowledge and love for mythology.

DK sets a high standard for educational guides, and this one is no exception. The illustrations are colorful and appealing, the myths are concisely summarized, and the language is appropriate for younger readers. The more mature themes of Greek myths are glossed over quite a bit--e.g., saying that a goddess "became pregnant" without the more unsavory details of how that happened. The book also includes a pronunciation guide and glossary and still clocks in at 160 pages, making it a great classroom resource.

A solid collection of Greek Myths. It's hard to compete with the Donna Jo Napoli or D'Aurlies mythology books, but this would be a good companion book to those.

This book is full of wonderful illustrations. I love the colors and how everything was put together. I'm not new to Greek Mythology. I enjoyed how everything was told chronologically. Some events were slightly different from other versions but the slight differences are a regular occurrence whenever you read different translations. The overall message was still the same and I recommend anyone new to Greek Mythology to pick this book up. It's a fun, easy read.

Another book collecting the myths into one. A decent look at them and some starting information. It is very visual which is nice if wanting to read them to kids.

Gorgeous artwork to go along with these wonder myths. I have always loved reading about the gods and their shenanigans, and this will be a lovely addition to anyone's library, especially those with young children. My favorite story of the bunch was that of Eros and Psyche, theirs has always been one of my favorite romances, and this was a wonder interpretation of the story.

Beautifully illustrated book to introduce Greek mythology to children. The diagrams for each god with its symbology and description were gorgeous, I almost wish there was a companion card game with the god illustrations. As for the text, it contains several versions of the myths I had not read before. I would have been all over this book as a kid.

I read this book with my six year old. For context, we’re nominal Hindus, he knows a little bit about godly shenanigans. Since he’s little he loved every time a cow or sheep was mentioned (these old myths had lots of cow and sheep!). He also liked the fact bits at the end.

I loved all the myths. Some of them even have really nice looking lists. That appealed to both my son and I because we have a touch of ocd. It’s also illustrated beautifully. Eye catching and informative.

Thanks to Netgalley and DK for the ARC.

This is a beautifully illustrated children’s book that is aimed to teach kids about the Greek Myths, starting from creation, including stories of the various gods.

If you and your kids are interested in mythology, I definitely recommend this book

4 out of 5 🌟I can read this all day!

If I say that 'Greek Myths' are beautifully illustrated, it'd be an understatement. This book is just gorgeous. I want to print out every page and put on my wall. I love everything from page design and how text is perfectly fitted inside the pictures to the font-face which is enough fancy to draw my attention but ordinary enough to read.

The myths are sorted chronologically from the creation of the world and gods to the more recent events in Ancient Greece's beliefs. The stories are brief and summarized, there isn't too much narration just the chain of events, hence it reads more like a textbook, not a leisure publication. Despite the title covers a great number of details and it's perfect to learn Greek Mythology.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher DK for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and feelings are my own.

Growing up I loved Greek myths, but my schools didn't offer many books on them. I googled them on the Internet, but nothing was as fun as a good book growing up. I'm super pumped to grab a non-fiction children's book about greek myths! Ah, what a time!

There's a brief introduction to Ancient Greece and myths before the real action starts. Once you're in, it gets going and it's great! It brings to life the famous greek myths about how the world came to be, and it's told in a really compelling way with exciting pictures with it. Many (and I mean MANY) of the gods get bios as well as their stories told. It's a great collection that is made fun, fast and addicting. I honestly wish this would have been around for my greek studies back in grade school! This is a marvellous resource I highly recommend!

I absolutely love the art work. It has those greek mural vibes and was really impressive! Those stood out massively to me since they were so gorgeous and attention grabbing. Easily middle graders up to adults will enjoy this book.

Five out of five stars.

I have to admit, I was a little nervous about sharing this with my girls. Greek Mythology can be difficult to explain to children, especially since a lot of the stories have hidden meanings or overt messages that would be far too advanced for my girls. But, I'm was happily proven wrong (on assumptions) because this book was so well done.

First of the graphics were beautiful and captivating. The colors and layout allowed you to share bits and pieces at your own pace, and then larger go on to the longer stories, should you choose to.

Secondly, the writing style, while still a little complex for my young girls, could easily be read out loud for bedtime. Young children could still grasp some understanding and formulate questions for better understanding. For older children, this would be a great family or individual read, as the language is not overwhelming or too complex.

Over all, I thoroughly enjoyed this read! Thank you Netgalley and DK for sharing your work with me.

Thank you to NetGalley for gifting me a free digital ARC (e-book) of this title. I loved it! Greek Myths by DK was an amazing book. I love books about mythology and I was so excited to dive into these stories. There are so many versions of the old myths and I always enjoy hearing the various interpretations and versions of the tales. There is so much history in the Greek Myths; not only do we get to learn about what was important to the ancient Greeks culturally, we also get to learn about their values by reading the stories that influenced their lives. I think it is so cool to see how similar the ancient Greeks were to us now-- human nature hasn’t changed much over the centuries, and it is very cool to understand more about those who came before us. I loved the cover art and I appreciate the chronological organization of the chapters. Overall this is a really great book that all ages can enjoy and learn from!

This is a well-illustrated guide to Greek myths for kids. The stories are just the right length to keep attention and provide the basic story and there are lots of little extras throughout. The artwork is bright and engaging. We still have an all-time favorite Greek mythology book in our house but this is a really nice entry to the theme.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

This collection of tales from the Greek myths includes so many well known stories.  These retelling will be enjoyed by the intended audience of children and also, I think, by adults.  Inside this book are the stories of Zeus, the Titans, Apollo, Athena, Demeter, Persephone, Prometheus, Midas and many more.  There is also a final section called "About the Myths" which provides additional information.

The author begins by putting the myths in context.  They were used by the ancient Greeks to help in understanding their world and, because of this they were essential. Not only were the stories a part of the oral tradition, they also appeared in art, theaters and more, thus revealing their importance in daily life.

The stories themselves are well told and accompanied by illustrations that enhance the text. The book looks engaging and encourages a reader to see what comes next.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.  I would like to purchase this book when it is published.  It is a good and readable reference.

This was a really delightful exploration of Greek Myths. Absolutely loved the artwork throughout. I knew a lot of these stories/facts already but this was a great way to refresh my memory, and I think kids will love it. I really appreciated the pronunciation guide at the end, and had a good laugh about how many ladies Zeus "fell in love with" who then immediately "fell pregnant". Sort of strange how we consider these stories filled with violence and implied sex to be stories to share with children, but that's a conversation for another day haha.
