Tessa has written another great book in this series. Its probably my favorite one. It was so freaking cute and funny. Even though it is the third book in this series, you do not need to read the previous ones to enjoy this book. I cannot wait till Tessa's next book.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED THIS BOOOOOK. Really though, it was my favorite in the series. Bethany and Wes take the cake in every single way. Bethany always has such a cool and polished exterior in the previous books but in this one we find out that that isn't the case. She's got her own share of insecurities that make her more human and relatable. Wes....WES!!!! His relationship with his niece makes me want to sob my eyes out and the way him and Bethany go at it (arguing wise lollll) while still making sure to always have her back is just....too good.

Their "hate"-t0-love thing they've got going on obviously leads to some steamy encounters which should not be missed. I loved it. I loved it all.

This is my first Tessa Bailey book, and it won’t be my last! I didn’t realize when I requested this one that it was part of a series. While the first two couples in the series are in this book, you don’t need to know anything about them to enjoy this one. (And there are some hints dropped at what happened in the first two books to pick right up and feel like you know the whole story.)

I read another book recently, The Honey Don’t List, that had a home improvement couple in it. This one is nothing like that book, it is a lot better. I really felt like Bethany and Wes were relatable characters. Bethany was constantly self doubting herself, and wore a mask around people, letting them think she was always carefree and perfect. Inside she was an anxiety ridden mess. Who doesn’t feel the pressure to be perfect???? And Wes comes with his own problems too. Plus, there is the age difference between the two. Not to mention the little girl, Laura, was too cute. There were several times I LOL’d reading this book.

Bottom Line: I just really love an enemy to lovers book, and this delivers. So cute. Read it. You don’t even have had to read the first two books first, I didn’t.

I inhaled the first two books in the Hot and Hammered series earlier this year and with the foundations in place for Bethany and Wes’ OWYM romance, I wasted no time at all in to diving in to Tools of Engagement.

“Wes. The way you talk. I should smack you, but I love it.”

Admittedly this hasn’t become my favourite book of the series and whilst I liked Wes and Bethany together and all their verbal sparring plus the fact they actually talk, along with the dose of cute injected by Wes’ niece, the reality show angle didn’t really hold much storyline weight for me and Bethany’s brother continued to rub me up the wrong way along with his wife who can only be described as certifiably nuts.

“Nobody in this room is perfect.”

Nevertheless, an easy enough read staying true to Tessa Bailey‘s style and which rounded off the series nicely.

I was sorry to see this be the last book of this series but I was even happier that Bethany got her HEA. Despite having many insecurities within herself as well as a lack of confidence Bethany and Wes made for one hot couple. The pair started out as enemies but over time, feelings evolved as Wes faces the challenges of becoming a guardian to his niece when having a childhood past being raised in foster care. The chemistry between the pair was off the charts and I enjoyed watching both characters grow and evolve as they both worked through their feelings and issues. I also enjoyed the return of the characters from the previous books in this series. I could not get enough of this book just like this series and I would recommend it to others.

I'm a big Tessa Bailey fan and I've liked the entire Hot & Hammered series, so I'm happy to report that Tools of Engagement was no different. Though, if I'm being honest, I wanted a bit more from the story.

Tessa Bailey writes sexy, fun contemporary romance, and I enjoyed the banter-y dynamic between Wes and Bethany. I like an opposites attract romance, and you throw in an age gap and I'm pretty much sold. I thought the relationship was a bit too "tease-y" for a bit too long, but I liked how it evolved over time.

The plotline with Wes's sister was a bit muddled, but I liked how he had to take responsibility for a child and the emotion that brought to the story. I wish we saw more of Wes's southern side as I kept forgetting that he wasn't from the North East constantly. I few y'alls would have been nice. I also related to Bethany's insecurities and the desire to be perfect all the time, though they got to be a bit much for me, as a reader. Also, something about the ending felt off to me.

Hot sex, as usual for Tessa Bailey, especially if you like alpha-types, and an engaging plotline, but not my favorite book in the series.

I have read and loved this entire series! Tessa Bailey's books are all fun, sexy, and easy to read. Great for when you want an enjoyable book that does not require deep thought, just enjoyment.

This was a fabulous read. It has so many of the tropes I love, age gap with an older woman, single dad, enemies to lovers, it has great banter and it's funny and full of heart. Bethany was so relatable in her insecurities and need to appear to have everything completely together. This was a great rounding out of an adorable rom com series!!!!

Confession: I not only Love Tessa Bailey but I also love books (or movies) where the Little Miss Perfect is forced to get dirty! (And, oh does she!)

Everyone thinks it's oh so funny to throw around that their OCD this or that but you don't actually see the not so funny part of the anxiety of things not being a certain way. And while I think Bethany was NOT a case for an OCD diagnosis she definitely had a serious case of anxiety associated with image. She HAD to be perfect. She struggles every day with how she appeared, how she interacted with everyone, how she ate, everything...But, (and this I love) in an effort to be true to her Just Us League ladies and sort of forced by external forces to start work on her sister's fiances childhood home (see Fix Her Up), she is put in a position where she has to make her stand against her brother's domineering he-man build, you-woman design ways. Oh, I am such a sucker for personal growth, a bit self-enforced or not.

Wes, the new guy in town, is a man of many trades- including bull-riding. He has blown into town to take care of his niece while his sister is out of town. Wes and Bethany get along at first meet like 2 alley cats after the same meal. Then add in a Jerry Maguire movie reference, an HGTV-ish spinoff home reno showdown type show, plus uber smexy/smarmy host, and DIY shenanigans and you have yourself a Hot & Hammered good time. (Eh? See what I did there?)

While I enjoyed the plethora of troupes rolled out (older woman/younger man, single parent, Mrs. PerfectMcPerfectson getting messy, and the underdog against the "man") I still felt like there was a bit of the usual TB chemistry was missing. Not a lot, but still it's like your favorite meal at your favorite restaurant made by your favorite chef but the sous chef was subbing in or something. Still good but a little off? Maybe it was a deeper relationship connection? I don't know. The steam was still at wonderful TB levels of steamy. The famous dirty talk was maybe a little toned down but that's ok. Not every H/h can have the same or else it gets too rote and expected.

I am not sure that this is the final installment of the Hot & Hammered series, but I hope it's not. I could use some more, a cousin. IDK, just, more, please!

I have really enjoyed this series and wish there was more! The characters all drew me in right away and while Bethany is my favorite, I really loved seeing how the previous main characters in this series have continued to grow and change and have their storylines develop. Bethany and Wes make such a good team and individually I loved them both as well. Both are dealing with insecurities in their lives, but yet they dive in when they need to. There is so much more to this story as we learn of Wes's sister and their childhoods and how they both have struggled and what has gotten them to this point in each of their lives. One of my favorite parts of the story is Bethany coming to the home to help when Lauren has friends over, the pure joy and excitement the girls feel and how Bethany is more of a natural than she thinks, when she allows herself to just respond and interact instead of overthinking. Such a great series!

What a comeback! This book is actually the third installment of a series that I had a rocky relationship with. I enjoyed the first book, Fix Her Up, and the relationship between Georgie and Travis. But, I just didn’t enjoy the second book, Love Her Or Lose Her. I felt like it was too much in some areas, but not enough in others. So why did I request this ARC of the third book? I just really felt like Bethany and Wes would have a great story, and - spoiler alert - they did!

If you are anything like me and had a rocky relationship with this series, I would still recommend picking this one up! Bailey did such a good job finding the balance between creating tension, conflict, romance, and humor. The banter between characters was spot on, and hands down the best banter of the series. I also liked how even though Bethany and Wes had instant chemistry, that didn’t necessarily mean they had insta-love. Throughout the book they work towards earning each other’s trust, respect, and ultimately love. This book didn’t have as much steam as previous books by this author, but it definitely still had p l e n t y of steam!

Before you ask, yes, this book does still contain some unusual word choices. My favorite was probably when the author compared kissing to “a mating of their tongues” LOL. BUT, the closest she gets to pet names in this one is darlin’ , which was actually pretty cute. The word choices didn’t stop me from enjoying this story! Overall, a solid romance!

What a fun conclusion to this series! I enjoyed the tension between Wes and Bethany and loved the sweet relationship between Laura and "Elsa". I loved seeing Georgie & Travis and Rosie & Dominic and where they were as this story was unfolding. The competition between Bethany and Stephen was just plain fun, and the epilogue was so sweet!

This was a very sweet romance! A bit raunchy for my tastes as it’s very descriptive and almost erotica. However, the love story was beautiful and the character development was fantastic. The plot was unique and I enjoyed the storyline. This was executed fabulously and left me smiling! My thanks to the publisher for the advance reader in exchange for my honest review.

Everything is Bethany Castle's life is perfect, except it's not. A string of failed relationships has pushed her to focus on her career goals, namely flipping a house on her own after years of working with her brother. The only problem is she doesn't really know anything about the construction end of the business, also, she doesn't like to get dirty. Enter Wes Daniels, he's had his eye on Bethany since he came to town to look after his niece for his sister. Always going through life never wanting anything serious, Wes jumps a the chance to help Bethany with her flip. Unfortunately for them, their timeline has just gotten a whole lot tighter when Bethany and her brother Stephen agree to make house flipping a competition for a reality show.

Tools of Engagement is such a great read. It has so many of the tropes I love, age gap with an older woman, single dad, enemies to lovers, it has great banter and it's funny and full of heart. Bethany was so relatable in her insecurities and need to appear to have everything completely together, I could feel her anxiety. Wes was a little bit of a surprise and absolutely perfect, learning to distract her when she started to spiral, yes he's a bit alpha, but really sweet and patient where it counts. I also loved that they were each on their own journey, Wes taking on his niece and Bethany learning how to corral her anxiety, but in the end, coming together and taking on those things as a unit. Really my favorite out of the series, definitely recommend.

This is the third book in the Hot & Hammered series by Tessa Bailey. They should be read in order because the author references some information from the other books in the series. This one revolves around Bethany and Wes. Bethany wants to prove herself to her family that she came branch out on her own, so when a local tv show gets wind of a house flip they create a show about Bethany and her brother both flipping houses. A Flip-Off is born. Bethany takes the challenge but needs a staff. Enter Wes and his skills. Cute rom-com that I enjoyed reading.

Tessa Bailey course-corrected after the drama-heavy H&H #2 and once again finds that perfect line between conflict, fun, and romance. Add in some fantastic banter and you can't help but love the relationship developing between Bethany and Wes.
It was fun to read about tightly wound Bethany finally taking on the flip she'd been wanting to since book 1 and slowly learning that perfect isn't always necessary while super cool Wes is there to support and encourage her. I also (surprisingly) really enjoyed the extra element of a little kid being in the middle. It adds that element of sadness that only makes the HEA that much sweeter, plus, some of the sweetest moments of the book center around little Laura and her interactions with both Bethanie and Wes.
I will say that it was a tad light on the super-hot, smexy scenes that I so enjoyed in previous volumes, but it fits with the overall tone of the book. It's not as much as I've come to expect from Bailey, but it's the perfect amount for the plot. If that makes any sense.
Overall, it's a truly satisfying rom-com that's heavy on the romance and the banter and a fun, distracting read that's definitely worth your time.
Also, we get to see Georgie and Travis' wedding!

Many, many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to get an early peek.

I am sad to report this one only ranks as 3.5 stars for me.
I am very disappointed with this one.
I absolutely loved the first two books in this series, but I had trouble staying in this story. Bethany drove me nuts. No matter how hard I tried, I did not like her. She didn’t seem so bad before as a supporting character... Wes and Laura were great characters! And I loved seeing my favorite characters from the two previous stories.
This one can be read on its own, but I recommend you read the first two first. Don’t let this story turn you off this author.

This book was great! It was so easy to lose yourself in the story, and kept you turning pages to see what happened next! Will definitely be recommending!

This enemies-to-lovers romance is set in the house flipping world, much like the author's previous books in the Just Us League. With this one, Wes and Bethany have so much banter together which is what I love, so it's won me over. It does awkwardly flip between the two Point-of-Views, but the voices are drastically different so it's not that confusing. It's very cute, but does escalate very fast, which is good because a slow burn wouldn't have worked as well between these two characters and their chemistry and attraction. It does feel like just another cutesy, steamy romance and that's about it. There's some very detailed language and lots of steamy scenes, so if that's not your style, FYI. It's a romance, nothing more or nothing less, it is what it is and just what you'd expect in the genre. It's a fine, easy romance read. That being said, the HEA at the end is sweet and adorable, I can't ignore or brush over that. Since it is the third book in the series, it definitely is meant for an audience that knows the other two books since it has the same characters. Having not read the others first, it's just fine, but had I read the others, I'm sure I'd like even more.

Such a great finish to the trilogy. The characters are well realized and the emotional arcs started in previous books carries through very nicely. A fun sexy read.
