Yet another fantastic installment in the Lottie Parker series. Gruesome and wild crimes, the past literally coming back to haunt you.
Thank you Netgalley for my ARC copy for my honest review.

Buried Angels by Patricia Gibney is the 8th book in the DI Lottie Parker series, and it keeps getting better and better.
Jeff Cole has inherited a dilapidated house from his Aunt but, he refuses to get a builder in he wants to do himself with his girlfriend Faye Baker. So, Faye decides to start on the front room. She starts ripping down the old wallpaper and plaster off the wall when Faye finds a skull of a child that was hidden in the wall. Who is this child and what happened to them? Where is the rest of her body?
On the way to school best friends Gavin Robinson and Jack Sheridan are on the way to school when they take a detour as Jack has is Drone with him and lets it fly over the railway tracks. What they find with haunt them. They find frozen human body parts. DI Lottie Parker is the Senior SIO on both cases. Are these two cases linked in some way?
This is another cracking episode in the DI Lottie Parker series set in Ragmullin Ireland. As usual she his try to juggle her work life with her personal life with. Her boss giving her a hard time and her kids want to go and live in NYC. But with her determination she gets the job done. Not always though with exceptional results.
Like the others in this series I loved this. I like the authors style of writing. It is a gripping complex thriller, but it flows easily. With lots of twists and turns that will keep you engrossed throughout.

Lottie Parker is working as a DI for the Garda Siochana (police) in her home town of Ragmullin. Both her personal and professional lives seem determined to make her life increasingly complicated. The positive news is that she has successfully managed to battle the booze and has finally found (admitted to) love with Boyd. However,
Boyd is now ill,
her new boss is determined that they cannot work together,
her eldest is attempting to flee to the US,
her other children continue their policy of telling her nothing about their lives
and there’s a new serial killer on the loose.
So, situation normal really for Lottie!
I’ve read all of the books so far in this series and I have enjoyed how Lottie has slowly grown in many respects – she has learned to limit her alcohol intake and to trust her instincts. However, like many people, she is learning as she goes and this is one of the more likeable aspects of Lottie.
The storyline jumps between the present investigation and various characters involved along with frequent glimpses of past events through the eyes of the victim. Of course, as often the case with Gibney’s novels, what you is happening is not always the case and once again, Gibney has written another fast-paced and twisty thriller, that is definitely worth a read.
I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley by Bookouture in return for an honest review.

I loved this book so much that I've already bought the first and second one in this series. I can't believe I've been missing out on Patricia Bibney and Lottie Parker for the previous five books. Full of great characters, strong relationships, family dynamics and a cracking plot. The way all the strands are woven together here is outstanding. Highly recommended for loves of police procedurals.

I've read this series from the start - can't believe it's book 8 already!
In a nutshell, I loved it. Great crime to hook yourself into, perfect balance of police investigation and personal developments. The crime is a fascinating one, and once the investigation gets going, wow it doesn't stop - I hurtled through the pages! Lottie didn't annoy me once this time, she's settled into her work, family and relationship with Boyd and could get on with investigating the crime and working with her team to track down the guilty.
Highly recommended series!

Well... if this book is anything, it's proof positive that sometimes it takes a few books to really gel with a main character. OK so it took me up til the previous one to really open up to Lottie but, now we are there, our relationship continues strongly throughout this, the latest in the series.
Oh boy, Lottie really has her work cut out for her in this book. Remains are found on a rail track by a couple of young boys and their drone. Then Faye finds a skull hidden in a wall she is knocking down. Are these connected? And if so, who is the victim - or is it victims? - and how on earth did they end up where they were? Who is responsible for this heinous crime? And then Faye goes missing and the heat goes up a notch...
So, due to his personal circumstance, as well as his health issues, Lottie is without Boyd in her endeavours to solve this case. As you might know if you follow my reviews, I have had my issues and reservations with this relationship and my eyes did roll at the end of the previous book with the revelations that Boyd found out but, and this is important, I take back those feelings and I think that actually put this series back of track for me. Yes I miss the terrible twosome but they do still have their moments during the book and that does appear to follow the less is more philosophy. It also gives others in her team both chance to shine and also to gripe! Her family also get some well needed respite (another mild niggle satisfied).
The plot is excellent and a little harrowing. Verging towards very dark in places. It's also very well executed and mostly kept me guessing throughout, leaving me satisfied at its conclusion.
All in all, a cracking book which I think has definitely taken the series in the right direction. Really looking forward to the next one. My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

This is one of my my favourite detective series and Lottie Parker is one of my favourite detectives, despite her frequent surliness and neglect of her kids when work becomes all consuming . At least she has finally acknowledged and got on top of her alcohol addiction and now that she is engaged to DS Boyd is no longer struggling to accept that relationship. And it is good to see that no one in her family is caught up in any of the crimes in this episode (as they've all been through enough already).

After a child's skull in found boarded up in an old house and then a frozen torso is found on the railway tracks Lottie suddenly has her hands very full trying to piece together a difficult puzzle that goes back over twenty years. Several dysfunctional families with people keeping secrets and telling lies do not make this an easy crime to solve and Lottie's team has a tough time trying to identify the victims let alone the murderer. The waters are muddied further by several more inexplicable murders and a lot of sleuthing is required before the pieces start to fall into place. With Boyd on leave while he has treatment for leukemia Lottie is stretched very thin causing resentment among some members of her team and the wrath of her new DCI who likes everything done by the book. With a complex, dark and twisting plot and great characters, this was a very addictive read.

DI Lottie Parker is back...and [book:Buried Angels|51749544] is one of the good ones! Halfway through this series I got pretty disenchanted wit it cause I didn't like the course Lottie's character was taking but, thankfully, a couple of books back it came back on course. She's the same Lottie but much less belligerent with her family and work colleagues. Finally she's starting to see her kids as their own selfs, understanding that they have to make their own decisions as much as it hurts her. Also, in this case her family isn't involved in the investigation and that's always a plus for me.

In my opinion, the murder investigation took a little time to take off but once it gathered pace there was no stop to it. As usual there's a very complex plot with lots of suspects and red herrings. When everything started to unravel I had to stop for a bit to sort in my head all the puzzle pieces, names and the relations between them. There was a moment I though it was not possible for all of it to be connected but at the end [author:Patricia Gibney|16227534] managed to tie every single clue altogether.

Now that her personal life seems to be on track Lottie faces new professional problems so I cannot wait to go back to Ragmullin in book 9 to find out how she deals with them.

One of my favourite authors and one of my favourite series and yes it just keeps getting better and better. Lottie Parker is one of my favourite characters and I have been with her from the beginning. This is her toughest case yet. A child's skull is found buried in the walls of a house, a child's leg is found in the river and body parts have been found on the railway tracks and to top it all Boyd is undergoing chemotherapy. Another fantastic five star read which I literally devoured in one sitting and sat up half the night to finish it. Yes this book is that good and in my opinion the best one yet. Totally gripping and another chilling addition to this fantastic and very addictive series. A MUST READ for all readers who like a top notch crime thriller. I LOVED LOVED IT!!!
Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for the ARC.

Buried Angels is book 8 in the fabulous DI Lottie Parker series that just goes from strength to strength.

While renovating the house Jeff Cole had inherited from his aunt, his wife Faye finds the skull of a child that had been hidden in a blocked up wall.

For Jack Sheridan and his best friend Gavin Robinson, a bit of fun with a drone on the railway tracks before school was to turn into the horrific discovery of a headless torso and the start of an investigation that will open old wounds and end in more lives being lost.

So, with a new superintendent, fiancé DS Mark Boyd still off sick and a family life that gets ever more demanding and complicated, Lottie will have her work cut out to solve this one and keep everyone happy at the same time.

Buried Angels is another brilliant novel with plenty of action, some great characters , has a plethora of suspects and is a thoroughly enjoyable read and one I would definitely recommend.

So look forward to meeting Lottie and the gang again in the future.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an ARC for my honest review.

This is a fabulous series and just gets better and better. The stories are always fresh and innovative and the plot fast paced and engaging. I love the charachter of Lottie Parker and how her family life is interwoven with the story. There were a lot of characters in this book and various people discovering body parts - each discovery brought a new twist and more questions. This book was thrilling and I could not put it down

O wow this is the best of the Detective Lottie Parker series. It's book right in the series and the previous seven were brilliant but this one goes above and beyond!!
Dismembered, skeletal parts of children are found in different places. Some are not from the parts found nearby.
This is like a tangled web for Detective Lottie Parker to solve!! She's running and racing trying to solve it. Then there are recent murders thrown into the mix! Lotties gut is telling her that the historical cases and the recent ones are connected, but how?? Read on.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this Arc.
Beyond Brilliant!!

This is one of those series I can count on when I want to settle in with a fast-paced whodunit with interesting, and for the most part likable, characters. So it's hardly surprising that I enjoyed this one (the eighth featuring Detective Inspector Lottie Parker). Once again, I thank the publisher, via NetGalley, for allowing me to read and review a pre-release copy.

Lottie is older now - a relatively young grandmother, in fact - and she's found a new love - also a detective - after losing her beloved husband a while back. She and her extended family are living in a too-small house in Ragmullin, and although she loves all her relatives dearly, she's more than happy to go to work. As this book opens, she's called to a railroad track, beside which two young boys spotted - by way of the drone they were flying - what appeared to be a body. As it turns out, that's only partially true; it's the torso of a young woman who at first glance appears to have been murdered and frozen.

Readers also learn that concurrently, a pregnant woman who's trying to get her fixer-upper in better shape before the baby arrives is shocked to find the scull of a child that's been hidden behind a fireplace for who knows how long. The baby's father, though, is insistent that they keep the discovery a secret.

Chapters flip back and forth to show what's going on in the lives of some of the characters who are suspects (and to mysterious events of two decades ago), and gruesome murders in the here and now make Lottie and her police cohorts wonder if there could be a connection between long-ago murders and those of today. But despite their best efforts, the investigation seems to be going nowhere fast (further irritating Lottie's new supervisor, who clearly isn't her fan to begin with).

As I've said with the other books in the series, the very large number of characters makes it hard to keep them all sorted. But if you just sit back and go with the flow, it all works out in the end very well. And in this instance, the ending hints that Lottie could be headed in a new direction next time out. That sounds exciting to me - bring it on!

Two young boys flying a drone find body parts on the local train track. Another part is found in a nearby canal. A young woman stripping wallpaper in her new home discovers a child’s skull hidden in the wall of the home her fiancé inherited from his aunt. Shortly afterwards she is found murdered. Lottie Parker and her team are investigating and find a long history of infidelity, illegitimacy, murder and family secrets.

Another great read from the Lottie Parker series.

Thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and Patricia Gibney for the ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

Patricia Gibney has worked her magic again with this book in the Lottie Parker series which was fabulous! Patricia is one of my favourite authors and this did not disappoint. Really enjoyed it, it was dark, tense and kept me on the edge of my seat reading late into the night because I didn’t want to put it down. It was a very entertaining read that kept me engrossed from start to finish. It was a complex story involving several families joined together by unspeakable acts, it was however easy to follow and hugely enjoyable. I highly recommend this book it totally deserves 5 stars it was excellent.

Gripping and totally compulsive ...100% the best yet !!
This is book eight of the wonderful D.I. Lottie Parker series set in Ragmullin, Ireland and oh boy it a real humdinger of a read and my favourite one of the series so far. The book starts with the discovery of a small skull while Faye Baker is starting the renovation of a house but when she tells her boyfriend Jeff he seems to be acting strange and tells her the skull is not real and someone has left it as a joke. Meanwhile Lottie is investigating another discovery of the remains of a child minus a skull are these two finds connected ! Well we have one heck of a fantastic mystery going on with lots of twists, more murders, frozen body parts OMG it’s all happening here !!
I love Lottie Parker she really is an amazing character and the ongoing back story of her extremely complicated home life it’s always such a pleasure to read these books as you become totally involved in both the police procedural story and Lottie’s life.
I can’t give enough praise to Patricia Gibney for an exceptional read that was so well written and for continuing to please with this brilliant 5 star series, long may it continue and roll on book nine.
My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

It is difficult to find anything new to say about what is one of the best series in contemporary British crime fiction. Patricia Gibney is a superb writer, her main cop Lottie Parker is a fascinating character and the plots are always clever, engrossing and surprising. This is wonderful!

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of Buried Angels.

This is I think my 3rd or 4th Lottie Parker book and I’m still enjoying this series. I’ve read them out of order and can still follow along so I don’t think you have to read them in order to know what’s going on. This one is about dismembered parts of a body being discovered and then those who discovered the parts being in danger. Lottie is working to figure your what happened so n one else gets hurt, but this new case is somehow connected to an unsolved case from 20 years ago. How are they related?? What happened to the two family members from 20 years ago? Are they involved in this new case at all? I have to say I was rather surprised with the big reveal. I definitely didn’t see it coming!
