Well, Lottie certainly has a lot on her plate this time, but no worries because she is always hungry. Hungry for justice for the victims, hungry to put the baddies behind bars, hungry to delve deep until she finds out every little detail.

She puts every case through the finest sieve she can find. She squeezes every witness gently to extract every drop of information and she grills every suspect until they sweat.

She does not only have to wade through a thick soup of crime, but she also has to deal with her personal life that gives her lemons. Will she be able to make lemonade?

In this story I had the feeling there was something fishy about almost everybody, except for the police team. Male or female, they were all acting suspicious and hiding secrets.

Lottie and her team really have to suck the marrow out of it before they can put the cherry on the cake.

A great, horrible story that had me frozen to my chair from page 1. 5 stars/chef's hats ;)

Thank you, Patricia Gibney and Bookouture

Another absolutely fast-paced, book in this amazing series featuring Detective Lottie Parker. I love how we learn more about Lottie in each book and her vulnerability comes out a tiny bit more. An absolute cracker of a read!

I love the Lottie Parker series! This book was so good, a lot of twists and a lot of suspects. I really didn’t know who the actual murderer was and I was surprised when I did find out.
As usual, Lottie’s family is driving her crazy. Her fiancé Boyd has cancer and is undergoing treatment and one of her team has it in for her. I am glad to read of Lottie’s determination the way she has pulled herself out of alcohol and drug addiction. When this series starts, she is a hot mess but the reader can see her growth throughout the series.

Pregnant Faye Baker discovers a skull in the house she and her boyfriend are renovating. Jeff passes it off as a fake but Faye's not so sure. After seeing the news she calls the police and Detective Lottie Parker and her team are on the case.

Two young boys with a drone discover body parts on the railway track which seem to be part of an old case but what are the connections with the present?

Lottie is missing her sidekick Boyd who is on sick leave and caring from his sister since his mother's sudden death. As ever, she's got family issues with her daughter Katie wanting to fly the nest with her little grandson, Louis who she dotes upon.

It's a fast paced and un-put-downable story. Some people are in the wrong place at the wrong time and interwoven are old cases from before Lottie's time in the force. A must read (I'm a huge Lottie fan and love the series).

Lottie Parker and the gang are back. Lottie is working hard but missing Boyd who is out on sick leave and receiving treatment. He is in Galway with his sister after burying their mother. Their marriage plans are on hold and as usual Lotties home life is chaotic. A young lady called Faye calls them when she finds the skull of a small child in the house that her boyfriend has inherited. On the same day two young boys playing with a drone discover a childs torso on the railway line and when the police are investigating they find a mans hand. They appeared to have been frozen so where have they come from, who do they belong to and are they connected to the skull? Then both Faye and one of the boys Gavin go missing. A house of card starts tumbling and bodies start turning up. What has it to do with an insurance company and a local estate agent?

This is another cracker from Patricia Gibney. You can feel the tension building with each discovery and you can feel Lotties stress as the case goes on. I cant wait to meet Lottie and the gang again. Hopefully she will get her happy ending

Best so far and this one does not have her family involved in any way in the investigation

During a renovation of a house the owner stumbled accross the skull of a small child and Lottie has found the remains of a child minus a skull, are these connected or is something more sinister afoot ?

Thank you to Netgalley for the arc

Another brilliant book in the Lottie Parker series. It was a gripping storyline that I couldn't put down so read it in two sittings. It was quite emotional in places finding out how Boyd is doing. Plenty of twists and turns where I thought I had guessed the culprit but I was wrong. I can't wait for the next instalment. I highly recommend this series and author.

Lottie's back!! I'm so glad that Gibney didn't involve her family in this investigation!! For that alone I'm giving this 5 stars, honestly more like 4 stars, but I'm just happy that Lottie didn't annoy me like she has in the last couple books:) Here we are in book 8 and Lottie is finally getting her life in order, somewhat. A new investigation, some problems with her team, and dealing with her love, Boyd. This was a good installment and, hopefully, Lottie continues down this path.

I couldn’t wait for this book to be released, I had to know what was happening with Boyd! I have to say I really do feel like part of the team, after reading all of the titles in order. This one did not disappoint. I was convinced I knew who the killer was, there were so many twists and turns. Turns out I was wrong!! Fantastic book from PG, I can’t wait for number 9!

Detective Lottie is at her best when she is called into a scene where Faye Baker who is doing repair work on her boyfriend Jeff house is shock to find a child skull.

When Lottie starts to investigate she called again when skeletons remains of a child with no skull she wonder if the skull that was found in Jeff house is connected. When Faye is found dead and Jeff acting strange and secretive Lottie wonders does he have something to do with it or is he and his family hiding something they don’t want coming out and is it connected to the remains of a child they found if so what.

This was a good mystery it had twists and turns that had you on edge of your seat it’s the best book yet and I’m looking forward for more.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

Detective Lottie Parker is called in to investigate the discovery of a child’s skull in the walls of a building. The skull was found by occupant Faye Baker, the house has been in the possession of her boyfriend’s family for years. And that boyfriend has been acting suspiciously. Then more child’s bones are found on nearby railroad tracks and Lottie sees a connection. When Faye is found dead, it would seem that her boyfriend and his family are somehow involved. Lottie Parker is one of my favorite detectives, she’s complex and likable, Gibney knows her stuff
