Book one in the Shadow Quest. Analia has been kept a slave on a ship when she see a chance she escape the merchant ship Marada. The ships captain Sebastian has only one goal to keep his crew and family safe while delivering a parcel to a ruthless pirate. Sparks fly when these two meet, I enjoyed the both the science fiction aspect of this story but also the romance. The author made us care not only about what happens to Analia but also the crew, Cant wait for the next book in the series,

The Demon's Possession delivers on exactly what it promises - alpha space hero rescues vulnerable (but secretly badass) female and they fall for each other, hard. Kiersten Fay starts the book really strongly with a punchy escape scene, lots of danger and threat, plus bucket loads of sexual tension. It's a great start and hooked me right in! From then on, the pace lessens considerably and the story - and romance - are the weaker for it. I almost would have preferred a slow burn rather romance than the insta-lust we get at the beginning, which ramps up the tension only to leave you floundering when it suddenly disappears.
The Demon's Possession is an easy, entertaining read and I'm excited to see where the author goes next with the series.

Another good story by Ms. Fay. Well-written and interesting plotline. I liked the paranormal aspect of the story.

“The Demon’s Possession” (Shadow Quest #1) by Kiersten Fay.
Overall the first book in the series was an interesting read. What’s not to love with Sci fi, space, different species, a romance, action, and a twist with the bad guy?
However I found that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy the story as much as I thought I would, and I can’t exactly point out what I found was annoying me.
It could be that Analia was badly abused for many years, and in not so many words possibly continuously raped by her captor... but was able to get over this terribly emotional scaring so quickly with Sebastian.
Don’t get me wrong, their attraction was overwhelming strong and maybe she learnt to trust Sebastian more so because she felt comfortable with him. I merely thought it would take more time in the book for complete trust to be built.

Thanks so much to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion. Alien, and demon romance story with some huge world building. Sebastien finds a stowaway abound his ship and due to time constraints and wards on his ship he is forced in close company with the ships newest member. Anya has some fierce abilities and stows aboard a ship trying to get away from Darius, an evil man that has kept her for decades.
What did I like? There will obviously be more than one or two books with this series since the story really develops near the end of Anya’s HEA with Sebastien. Huge world building and a huge cast of characters so far as the four demons who live aboard Sebastien’s ship seem to be more involved in the story than originally thought. This was a pretty in depth book and really enjoyable.
Would I buy or recommend? Yes, if you like aliens...demons... or other world characters are a huge part of this book. The story itself is mostly Anya and Sebastien until the end and then the net stretches wildly. It looks like it will be a great series!
Thoughts for the author ? Congratulations on your new release! Loved it. Can’t wait for the next sister.

4.5 stars. I had a hard time rating this book. I wanted to give it 5 stars but that would have been just a little bit of a lie. It was so freaking long. The first half was kind of slow and it was really just about a girl learning about how to move on from a horrible life And then theres a little bit of her and her demon falling in love and then in the last 25% of the book we find out who she is. I just think that the there is soo much information pushed into the last quarter. I wish it was sprinkled in throughout instead of all at the end.
I loved the book though. I loved the world and the characters and I am excited to see where the series goes!

Science fiction fantasy thriller with action, tension and romance. Runaway slave meets demon captain. What could possibly go wrong when she is discovered and there is no way off the ship for months? Or better yet, what can go right?

I recieved a free digital copy of the book from the publishers via Netgallg in exhchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed ar eny own and given freely.
I really enjoyed this book. Despite the fact i thought it was going to be another space smut fest... I was an actual story with a plot and character development and everything.
Whilst the writing seemed to lack a certain something, and some spelling/word mistakes ot was fun and engaging and I'd really like to read the jext oje to see where the overall plot goes from here... Obviously its going to be Mariks mate next - iean the whole reason for any of it happening.
Having never experienced anything like any of the characters it made it hard to sympathise with them but i could definitely empathise with them.
However the fact that Analia has been basically completely isolated for a couple of centuries i find it hard to believe she would take so well to being aeound such large groups of people immediately... And there's no self confidence issues - exept for with Sebastian - considering she's been a slave amd isolated... Neither of these make sense for the main character.
The book seemed huge whilst also being really quick... And slow... It's taken me a few days to read it - but honestly I'm glad that there was actually a big picture storyline and a smaller personal one. However there were mindane times that seemed to last for pages and pages and yet the action is generally over in just a couple... Which i find disappointing
I will definitely look out for book 2 in the series in the future

The Demon’s Possession is the first book in the Shadow Quest series. This spicy sci-fi romance focuses on the relationship between Analia and Sebastian. Analia, captured when she was a young child, lived in captivity and was abused, used, and tortured. It wasn’t until she escaped onto Sebastian’s ship that she felt free. Unfortunately, her captor is relentless in his pursuit of Analia.
As Sebastian falls for the kind-hearted and trusting stowaway, he realizes he will not rest until Analia is safe. This includes protecting her as well as teaching her to protect herself. I love this! He is more concerned about her ability to protect herself than he is his own alpha-male tendencies.
Underneath his gruff, bad-ass exterior, Sebastian is strong, caring, gentle, and selfless. Analia uses her time on the ship, with Sebastian’s encouragement and guidance, learning how to defend and provide for herself. They both still see the good in others, and they both value friendship and love even as they fear it.
The other characters in the book are also well developed and dynamic. My favorites are Sebastian’s effervescent and sometimes snarky sister and his cook/best friend. Sonya is a tremendous support to her brothers and to Anya, and her selfless yet no-nonsense attitude is a delightfully amusing combination. Other crew members, the antagonists, and even the minor characters have defined and realistic personalities, despite the fact that they are from a variety of different planets.
Let’s talk about my favorite part – the romance! The chemistry between Sebastian and Analia is palpable. Initially, both characters seem reluctant to give themselves wholly to another. Their past experiences have wounded them deeply as Sebastian and his siblings were betrayed by their mother, and Analia is a victim of abuse. What I like is that they help each other heal. Their connection is much deeper than just simple attraction and has the potential to be a great and long-lasting love. Plus, their romance is steamy! It’s a sweet and spicy build-up of explosively sexy and sensual fantastic-ness!
In addition to the likable characters and sexy romance, the plot-line is intriguing. Sebastian is transporting a mysterious package to a ruthless pirate. His entire ship is protected, but no one can leave until the package is delivered. When the ship is under attack, Analia fears she must reveal a secret that could change everything. This aspect of the story, as well as Analia’s search to find the truth about her past is fascinating.
This is an engaging read with interesting characters and a well-paced plot. I recommend this to readers who enjoy steamy sci-fi romance novels with sexy alpha-males and a bit of intrigue. Thanks so much to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

It was a good premises for this book. But unfortunately I just didn't get into it fully to care about the two leads. I gave it a Go. It wasn't for me.

Kiersten Fay is a bit of a hit or miss with me. My latest try, A Wicked Hunger, wasn't the greatest in my opinion. But Keeping His Siren was pretty cool. So I decided to give it another go. And I must say: I'm very happy to have chosen The Demon's Possession as my next book. It was actually a pretty sweet and great story. We meet Analia, who has been trapped, hurt, abused and deprived from food since she was a little girl.
When she finally gets a chance, she escapes her ship and secretly joins the Marada as a stowaway. There, she is found by Sebastian, the demon captain of the spaceship. Since he is to deliver a package to the other side of the galaxy, he can't send the strange woman away.
Sebastian is wary of Analia, but her apparent confusion about generosity and honor humble him. He decides to let her work in the galley as payment for her stay at the ship. Analia is happy to be away from Darius, but she fears he will try to catch her and she will bring harm to the Marada. Therefore, she tries to find a way to escape.
Will Analia succeed? Will Darius find her? And can Sebastian understand his feelings for Analia? Found out for yourself in this hot and steamy read, full of suspense and fun. Four out of five stars from me and a special thanks to Netgalley for providing the arc.

An interesting read and for once in these type of books it was nice to read a strong woman who despite what she has gone through remains strong and a man who doesn’t just take advantage completely and wants to teach her to protect and help herself. The chemistry is good, although there are a few dubious/stilted scenes and scenarios, overall this is an enjoyable read with great characters.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

This was my first Kierstan Fay romance and though I enjoyed parts of it, I was left disappointed overall.
Analia has been a slave for hundreds of years, her body abused and exploited by her captor. She has no idea who her family is or what happened to them, or even what she is. Thanks to a little bit of help and her own gifts, she escapes onto a merchant ship captained by a demon named Sebastian. Sebastian isn’t happy to discover his stowaway—especially since he distrusts women to begin with—but his mission prohibits him from stopping to kick her off the ship. That and his unparalleled attraction to her.
Is Analia ready to enter into a serious relationship? And will she be able to learn the secrets of her past?
The world-building in The Demon’s Possession is interesting and I appreciated how Analia doesn’t just fall into a permanent relationship with Sebastian though their attraction toward each other is apparent. She’s a strong woman, and the way the main characters all care for one another is heartwarming. Get ready for some sexy scenes, too, because this book has them in spades.
But I felt like some of the dynamics between characters and some of their actions are predictable, and in at least one of those scenes the language gets really stilted. I definitely did not enjoy a couple of questionable jokes/comments made (for example, one of Sebastian’s thoughts comes across as homophobic). Finally, Sebastian doesn’t respect Analia’s privacy when she’s first rescued and that really bothered me, as did his confusion over how a “beautiful” woman could be a slave.
CW: abuse, off page sexual assault, attempted rape, victim of drugging, desire to commit suicide & suicide attempt (though the hero sets it up as a test of sorts and doesn’t intend for her to actually die).
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

This novel was a good read, if you enjoy mythical beings. Analia has been a captive for as long as she can remember and has not yet been broken. When a chance to escape opens itself to her, she takes it, not knowing it will her to her destiny. Sebastian is a demon, whose home world was destroyed and betrayed by people he loved. Demons have only one mate and Sebastian has no desire to find his, but things do not always work out the way we want them to. Analia and Sebastian have this intense attraction, both fighting it desperately, due to their own painful pasts. Analia stands up to Sebastian, something which intrigues him. But Analia is keeping secrets, some she does not even realize she has. Sebastian wants to protect her and his possessive instincts take over. But Analia refuses to be another's slave or possession and fears for the people whom have become her friends, for she would give up everything to keep them safe. Sebastian has no intentions of letting her go though. Let the battle of will begin!
I received this novel from net galley and the publisher. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This has to be one of my favorite books of all time. I read this years ago and have read it several times over. I was curious as to the differences in this book and noted it had a few more "back scenes", than the previous book. I liked that. I also noted a surprising amount of typos and grammar errors. I hope there will be a technical fix before the new updated version is published. Nevertheless, I love this book and was pleasantly surprised to see some spinoffs in the works. I have already put them on my wishlist in Amazon.

I have to admit that space set sci-fi-ish books aren't usually the kind of thing that I reach for. In some ways, this is more of a cross between sci-fi and paranormal in any case. The main characters are much like you would find in a paranormal romance (demon, magical gifts and the like) they just happen to come from different planets.
There's a lot going on here, in terms of world-building and setting up for the larger story arc that is going to play out through the course of the series. Although this book does cover the story of Sebastian and Analia, it doesn't conclude the overall story and I can only assume that they both have more of a role to play in future books.
I liked Sebastian particularly. He's a strong character, but he doesn't completely dominate and overrule Analia. He wants to protect her, but still respects what she wants, needs and is able to do. Analia has spent all of her life that she can remember in captivity as a slave and she has a lot to learn as she discovers life beyond that. On the whole, I liked her characters and strength and I think that she worked well as a couple with Sebastian.
This is the first book in a series, I will be keen to read more and find out what will happen to the other characters that we have already met. I will be reading the next book in the near future.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the beginning of a series. Ok not sure about this book. Cool premise but it kept getting more and more convoluted and for me strange. I liked the characters. Analia, Sebastian and Sonya, but once Ethanule showed up whoa! Crazy times. I really wanted to like it but not sure I would read the next one. 3.5 stars

Sebastian has been commissioned to deliver a curious parcel to a ruthless pirate named Ethanule. But when a bewitching young woman mysteriously appears on his ship, he finds it impossible to focus on the job...and to keep his hands off her. When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Kiersten Fay is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.

Hmmm, I don't know what to think of this book. It definitely kept me curious, enough so that I finished the book. I didn't really feel like I should DNF it, but I also knew I wasn't going to give this book a high rating...
Writing style: I love Fay's writing. I wouldn't even have picked up this book if her name wasn't on the cover. This book was less wel written than her Creatures of Darkness series, but still very enjoyable.
Characters: I don't know what it is with Fay's characters, but I always love them. They're so complicated and different and aaah. Anya barely knows anything of the world because she's been isolated most of her life, but with the help of Bastian she becomes surer of herself. She's still fumbling about though, which is great because most of the time the main character becomes super powerful and talented within 300 pages... Anya is very realistic. I can't wait to see more of Cale and Sonya and Marik... Those demons are hella interesting.
Story: I was intrigued by Anya's backstory (or lack thereof) and that definitely kept me going. But eventually the story started to drag and it was only Bastian does this, Anya reacts, Anya does this, Bastian reacts, oh now they're having sex, and again, and again. Towards the end it started to get a little more interesting, but then all the exciting parts were rushed through and I didn't get to enjoy them.
So I'm not quite sure yet what to rate this book as I was somehow compelled to keep reading... I'll leave my rating at 2,5 stars, I have read better books which I've rated 3 stars and I've read much worse books that I've rated two stars so this is the proper balance.

Analia has been a slave on the Hell Ship for as long as she can remember. When one day, a guard is complacent when leaving, she grabs the first chance of escape that's ever arisen. Stowed away and trapped in a maintenance compartment of the first merchant ship she came across, she's waited to long to reveal her presence to the crew but dying free is now a choice she can make for herself.
Sebastian has been Captain of the Marada for over 400 years, since he, his brother, and his sister escaped the destruction of their planet. When he discovers the dying stowaway, he can't understand his draw to her. She's stubborn, won't tell him how she got on his ship, and seems to have no knowledge of any of the simplest things.
As Analia discovers the worlds for the first time through her interaction with the crew of the Marada, she begins to discover the what it means to be attracted to someone for the first time. But the secret she hides is what her previous owner kept her for, when her new crew mates discover it will she become a slave again? While Sebastian and Analia circle each other, the delivery contract they're under turns out to be a big trap. And while Analia was worrying about her secrets, little did she know that is was her unremembered past that is the actual problem.
Book one of the Shadow Quest quartet by Kiersten Fay turned out to be an expected, enthralling tale. I got sucked into the characters almost from the beginning and couldn't put it down until I finished it at into the night. I was so captivated that although I had received this novel as an ARC, I immediately jumped to Amazon to find out when book two would become available. My timing was great, as I realized book two became available the next morning. Guess who was up at 5:00 a.m. to download it?
