New series from a great cozy mystery author. Loved this one and am eager to read more of Chloe Jackson's adventures. She is very relatable and engaging. Sweet back story as to how she goes from Chicago to Florida.

Chloe has lost her best friend Boone and headed to Florida to be with his grandmother. Emerald Cove is a world away from Chicago. She begins working in Boone’s grandmothers bar, meeting his friends and all while doing her best to keep his grandmother out of jail for murder.
Great start to the series. I enjoyed the characters, setting and mystery.

This is the first book in a new series by Sherry Harris. We’re introduced to Chloe Jackson who has come to the Florida panhandle to help out her best friend Boone’s grandmother after his death in Afghanistan. Her relationship with Vivi is rocky, but she’s determined to stay and fulfill her promise to Boone. A local man is murdered outside the bar that Vivi owns and she becomes the primary suspect. Chloe is determined to clear Vivi’s name.

This is a solid introduction to the series. The characters are well developed and interesting. Chloe’s investigation was sometimes a little scattered and she seemed to suspect almost everyone at one point or another. Hopefully future installments will have a bit more development in this area. All in all I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more in this series.

I great beginning to a hopefully new cozy mystery series! One thing I love about cozies is that it is always nice to return to the small town and its quirky people. This one has that sea salty tasting, sunny Florida small town vibe, and most definitely quirky people.

Chloe takes a short leave from her job as a librarian in Chicago to help out her deceased friend's grandmother run a bar. A local man ends up being murdered. Chloe finds out there is a lot of weird things going on in the small community. She does not know whom she can trust. She is the newcomer, so people do not trust her. Her late friend's grandma does not like her, but a local man seems to be a bit too interested in her.

Chloe is a likable person and a good sleuth. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy cozy mysteries. I look forward to the next book!

I enjoyed the author's Garage Sale series and decided to give this one a try.

Pluses: appealing Florida Panhandle setting, likable characters. Minuses: plot inconsistencies and some head-scratching logic from the main character.

Chicago children's librarian Chloe Jackson turns up in Florida to fulfill a promise made to her best friend Boone, who was killed by a sniper in Afghanistan. Boone's grandmother Vivi owns a bar and Boone wanted to make sure someone was watching out for Vivi if anything happened to him.

But Vivi is anything but a helpless elderly woman. She is attractive, energetic, stubborn, ornery, and independent and doesn't want anything to do with Chloe. Even when a local businessman is found murdered behind the bar and Vivi is the chief suspect.

While Chloe is amiable enough, her ham-handed investigating isn't particularly convincing. This is a pleasant enough read, but the plot doesn't hang together very well. But it is the set-up book for the series, so perhaps once the back story is out of the way, things will improve.

Thanks to the publisher and to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is a great start to a new series. I loved the way the author described the small town. It really brought it to life. I, also loved all the characters. I look forward getting to know each one better. The mystery had me guessing to the end. I look forward to reading more in this series.

I received a digital arc from Netgalley and Kensington Books for my honest opinion. Thank you.

What a great start to a new cozy series! Chloe is working at a beachside bar (that conveniently closes at 9 p.m. - that's something I can get on board with) in the Florida Panhandle after moving down there from Chicago.

See, Chloe made a promise to her college best friend that she would help his grandmother Vivi if anything happened to him while he was deployed. After his tragic death overseas, Chloe intends to keep that promise.

I loved that Harris offers a realistic, not idealized, version of the panhandle. Her character descriptions felt spot-on for Florida tourists and natives. The Sea Glass Saloon is a little less western, and a lot more tiki hut and is typically a hangout for the locals. When Chloe finds the body of a bar regular behind a dumpster, she takes it upon herself to investigate. I have some theories about where the rest of the series could go, and i'm excited to see where Harris takes us next!

Very cozy mystery with fantastic characters and setting, well written and with a good plot, but the best is the humor. Excellent entertainment, and I'm waiting for more.

From Beer to Eternity is the first in the new series, A Chloe Jackson, Sea Glass Saloon Mystery book by Sherry Harris. I did not want to put it down! I'm already waiting on the next book.
Chloe has recently arrived from Chicago and just wants to honor her deceased friend's request and help his grandmother with his passing and the grandmothers beachside bar for a few weeks. Little did she know, grandma is not a frail senior but a Vivi is one feisty lady. When a regular from the bar (who has been acting strange in the last few weeks) turns up murdered outside the bar, all signs point to Vivi being the guilty party.
Chloe doesn't think Vivi could have done it or could she. She decides to investigate on her own but being new in town, will the locals open up to her. They all are a close knit group and who is the "fixer" and why is she needed in the small town.
This easy to read cozy has it all, starting with a well written mystery, a great setting (you had me at Florida beach) great characters, some quirky, humor, and just maybe a touch of romance.
I now want to go to Emerald Cove and get a drink at the Sea Glass Saloon.
I was given an ARC by NetGalley and Kensington for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book but the only thing that I really did not like is the main character Chloe. I really did not like the way she was lying about why she was sticking around and also the way she would act when someone would offer to give her help. An example of this is when a character would offer her a place to stay because she did not have a place.
But besides Chloe I enjoyed the other characters and the way the mystery was solved. I think I would like to see if Chloe's personality changes in the series and what happens with the side characters like Joaquin.

Chloe Jackson is working at the Sea Glass Saloon for a couple weeks to help out a friend's grandmother. She doesn't feel welcomed at all, but she promised her friend before he passed away. When she discovers a dead body outside the bar, it's up to Chloe to do what she can to figure out who the murderer is, before she ends up dead herself!

This was a fun cozy mystery set on the beaches of Florida. Especially with all that's going on in the real world today, this was a great escape to slide into Chloe's world. I can't wait for more books in this series!

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.

This book was great! I enjoyed the setting, the characters, the plot and the story line. I thought the mystery came along nicely, and I loved the characters and their quirks. I was really disappointed when the book ended and there wasn't a second one to immediately start on.

Chloe Jackson loves her librarian job in Chicago, however when her best friend, Boone is killed in action while in Afghanistan, she makes good on her promise to him to go down to Florida and check on his grandma, Vivi and her bar, The Sea Glass. When Chloe arrives, she expects to find a frail old woman, barely able to manage the bar, but instead she finds a vibrant, strong willed woman, who doesn't take anything from anyone! Chloe manages to land a job in the Sea Glass, although she knows nothing about making drinks, and has to rely heavily on the bartender, Joaquin. Chloe is trying to be sneaky and camping out on Boone's boat, sleeping under the tarp. One morning on her way to work, she finds a dead body, She recognizes him as Elwell, an odd, armadillo hat wearing regular at The Sea Glass. The police set their sights on Vivi, and Chloe now knows why Boone asked her to keep an eye on Vivi, and proving that she is innocent!

I loved all the twists and turns in the book and the action. The only problem I had was keeping all of the characters straight. There were quite a few and at times I got them confused, although if I weren't so involved in it and reading so fast, maybe I would have been able to!

This is a great summer read. I felt like I was enjoying a nice cool drink on a warm sunny day reading this book.

Cleo Jackson heads to Florida after taking a leave from her job as a librarian to help out her best friends grandmother Vivi at her Sea Glass Saloon. Vivi
Is not your typical grandmother and doesn't really want Cleo there. But she made Boone a promise and she intends to keep it.

Vivi gives Cleo a job at her saloon and she becomes familiar with all the other customers that stop in almost everyday. And Joaquin the bartender is fun to watch and he is her first friend. As Cleo is leaving one evening she over hears Vivi with one of the regular customers in a argument yelling, Vivo walks back I into the bar and tells her she can go home.

Cleo is sleeping on top of Boone's boat when a guy wakes her up. Seeing she really shouldn't be there she walks away but he is following her. They end up in back of the Sea Glass where the find the body of the man Vivi was arguing with the night before. Before she knows what is happening the police are interviewing her about the body and her what abouts.

Keeping her promise to Boone seeing the police keep bringing in Vivi for questioning, she starts asking questions and some people don't like the questions she's asking. Vivi and Cleo have an appointment with the Lawyer and are told that Boone has left Cleo his house and half of the Sea Glass.
Vivi walks out and Cleo is surprised and confused because Boone never told her he owned either one. There is a letter asking Cleo no matter what Vivi offers her please don't sell the Sea Glass to his grandmother.

Vivi offers her a very high amount but she refuses. And keeps right on looking for the killer, with Joanquin. And the killer gets even more desperate and goes after Cleo agin.

This book was exciting and I was shocked at who the killer was. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

LIght, easy read, cozy mystery.
Chloe's friend Boone was killed suddenly while overseas serving the country. Before his deployment, Boone had Chloe promise that if anything happened to him she would go down to the panhandle of Florida and make sure his grandmother, Vivi was ok. Determined to keep the promise she made to Boone, Chloe takes a leave of absence from her job and stays on after the memorial service for Boone. Pretending she needs a job, she starts to work for Vivi at the bar she owns, the Sea Glass.. While out for a run Chloe stumbles upon a dead body behind the bar, and the key suspect is Vivi. Chloe is determined to uncover who really killed Elwell and why. But when she starts getting close to solving the murder, there are attacks on her life as well. Can she uncover the truth before she ends up getting killed, and when all is over will she be able to leave to head back home?
I enjoyed the characters in this story, and found myself rooting for them, especially Chloe.

The titles of Sherry Harris' books always make me chuckle and this one is no exception. From Beer to Eternity is the first in the Sea Glass Saloon Mystery series and introduces Chloe Jackson, a librarian from Chicago. A promise to a friend sets her off the Florida to help the friend's grandmother. Chloe thinks she will be aiding a frail old lady, but Vivi Slidell is anything but. Vivi is vivacious, hard driving and stubborn and pretty much able to take care of herself, that is until she is accused of murder. In true librarian fashion, Chloe has the answers. My favorite part of the book was when Chloe was alone at the bar and she asks a patron "How may a help you." The woman is so stunned by this question, she lists all the things she needs help with including her joint aches and Chloe offers her answers. I laughed out loud of that part. A terrific start to a new series.
